The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1263: Chapter 1263: Delivering Intelligence

The enemy camp has gathered personnel, planning to attack us?

Hearing this news, Wei Yun’s finger trembled. This is the last thing they want to hear because at this stage, what they need is time to develop.

Wei Yun tried hard to suppress the anxiety in his heart and said to Ji You, ”You need to hurry back to the base and tell the squad leader now.”

Ji You immediately replied, ”Yes.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she couldn’t wait another moment and started sprinting. In the blink of an eye, she had run a hundred meters away.

Seeing this, Wei Yun’s eyes flashed with surprise, ”This girl’s speed is quite impressive, unexpected.”

Ji You seems like a Talent focused on spiritual power, and her sudden display of speed made Wei Yun realize that he had misjudged her before.

Then.

Wei Yun quickly contacted the signal tower at the base, where someone was specially stationed. As soon as connected, Wei Yun briefly reported Ji You’s situation.

Shaun frowned upon hearing this, ”Do you think her words are reliable?”

Wei Yun pondered for a while and said, ”When she spoke, my Spiritual Silk sensed her spiritual wave patterns; they didn’t seem falsified.”

So, it’s true? Shaun raised an eyebrow and said, ”Squads 1 and 2 are acting too loosely; it’s understandable why the enemy chooses to attack from their direction.”

”But!” Shaun paused, and Wei Yun continued, ”But knowing that squads 1 and 2 are disorderly shows that our camp has already been infiltrated.”

”Hmm.” Shaun’s face darkened, ”At least, squads 1 and 2 must have been infiltrated.”

”Has anyone come here?” Wei Yun furrowed her brows tightly, ”I’m responsible for monitoring the surrounding area. If enemies have ever snuck in, it would be my dereliction of duty.”

Her tone truly carried a deep sense of guilt.

Both were eager to leverage their advantage through communication transmission to achieve some results. Therefore, Wei Yun and Shaun cooperated very closely. Whatever Shaun instructed, she would complete diligently and meticulously.

But now—

Someone actually bypassed my surveillance, and I was completely unaware!

The more you think about it, the scarier it gets.

Wei Yun said, ”Additional patrol personnel are needed.”

Shaun’s face was grim, ”We are short-handed.” At this moment, he realized the importance of increasing manpower, recalling Ji You’s initial suggestion to find allies, which he had rejected...

Shaun’s face turned stern as he walked out from the signal tower and saw a male team member hurriedly approaching, ”Squad leader, Ji You is back.”

Shaun glanced at him and asked, ”Are you Chen Junxiu?”

Wang Xin remained calm and nodded, ”Yes, squad leader.”

Shaun pointed to a nearby lookout post and said, ”You stay here. Report immediately upon noticing any anomalies.”

This lookout post covered the broadest visual range and was the highest point in the whole base, equipped with a simple telescope. Standing here allows for a panoramic view of the 1000-meter radius of the area.

Very good.

Wang Xin was internally excited, displaying a very happy demeanor outwardly, and seriously said, ”Don’t worry, squad leader, I will guard it well.”

Shaun nodded.

Then, he walked away.

Through the telescope, Wang Xin already saw Ji You stepping into the city gate. Just a few steps forward, she bumped into Shaun.

Ji You’s eyes brightened, and she quickly hurried over.

The two seemed to be talking about something, but the distance was a bit far, so Wang Xin couldn’t hear clearly. However, he felt greatly relieved knowing Ji You safely returned.

Speaking of.

She came back alone? Then, what about the two other guys?

Did they perish?

Wang Xin’s expression became solemn, and he silently lit a candle for the two boys in his heart.

As expected, as he anticipated, following Ji You out meant not returning alive.

”Da-da~”

Footsteps approached, Wang Xin snapped his mind back to focus, concentrating intently on the telescope.

Then, the voices of their discussion grew closer.

”Couldn’t find an ally?” Shaun’s tone was full of regret.

”Everyone prefers to wait for the official announcement or for orders from the Commander above.” It was Ji You’s voice; it sounded crisp and clear, with a soft, sweet tone. Plus, she wasn’t tall and didn’t speak in a loud, boorish manner, giving a feeling of fragility, easily deceived.

Wang Xin knew it was all a misconception!

She wasn’t a delicate little white flower, but a Cannibal Flower! Ferocious, imposing, killing decisively!

Shaun glanced at Ji You. She gave an impression of a very weak, innocent girl. Yet, when she acted, her aura suddenly burst forth, compelling belief.

She couldn’t convince other squads during negotiations?

Just as Shaun was filled with disappointment, Ji You suddenly said, ”But the person in charge at the military base has agreed to offer our squad help and protection if necessary.”

”Military base?!!”

Shaun’s spirit surged! ”Are you sure it’s a military base?”

Ji You nodded forcefully, ”That’s right, He Zhen personally promised me.”

Speaking, Ji You took out the crossbow from her back and patted it with her hand: ”This is the weapon I exchanged with him.” She only mentioned the crossbow; as for the folding knife, Ji You hid it inside her left sleeve without any intention of showing it.

Seeing the crossbow, Shaun’s eyes lit up.

He was also a sniper, using a bow and arrow, which in terms of performance and lethality, was inferior to the crossbow.

Shaun felt a bit envious, but his dignity as a squad leader prevented him from showing his craving. He asked, ”How many people are there on the other side?”

Ji You said, ”My initial estimate: probably 20 people.”

So many...

Shaun said, ”If there are so many people...”

Ji You immediately said, ”The base has to remain operational, so they must leave people to guard it. At most, only 10 people will be sent to us, and that’s the best case scenario.”

Having 10 people come over is already a great help.

Shaun was very satisfied with this, then Shaun asked, ”On the enemy side, do you see how many people are gathered?”

Ji You said, ”I couldn’t see clearly, but I estimate it’s around 50 people.”

people, that’s quite a high number.

Ji You answered Shaun’s questions while discreetly observing the surroundings and secretly identifying who is most likely to be the signal tower builder.

Taking down that person would mean taking down half of Sean Team.

Ji You continued, ”If the enemy moves now, we are actually in great danger, so we must unite with other squads or lure the enemy into our range or something.”

Shaun said, ”The enemy isn’t stupid; they won’t easily step into our range. Also—

Aligning with other squads, if the enemy’s full force of 50 people deploys, we might truly be overwhelmed.”

Ji You said, ”Relying solely on 50 people, the enemy likely won’t launch a major attack; instead, they’ll choose targets carefully and eliminate them one by one.”
