Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Ivy Sherwood was surprised her thoughts had been seen through so easily. She did, in fact, want to know if Quentin Blackwood was there.

Luckily, Nina Scott chimed in, ”President Blackwood is here too?”

Julian Grant said, ”No, he’s busy. Can’t find the time to hang out with us.”

Hearing he wasn’t there, Ivy Sherwood felt her tense heart relax slightly.

’Thank goodness Quentin Blackwood didn’t come.’

”What’s this? Is Ivy happy to hear Quentin Blackwood isn’t coming?” Julian Grant watched her subtle expression.

’I couldn’t have been that obvious, could I?’ Ivy Sherwood thought, touching the corner of her mouth to make sure she hadn’t been smiling.

”Not at all. I’m just so disappointed he couldn’t make it.”

Julian Grant deliberately said, ”Well then, I’ll give him a call right now and get him over here.”

Ivy Sherwood stopped him. ”Don’t. President Blackwood is a busy man. We shouldn’t bother him.”

She had been interacting with Quentin Blackwood far too much lately. Ivy Sherwood felt they should keep some distance, if only to avoid gossip.

Seth Scott, who was standing nearby, seemed displeased, especially when Julian Grant called Ivy ”Ivy” so casually.

”I didn’t realize Ivy and Mr. Grant were so close,” Seth Scott’s voice cut in.

Julian Grant said, ”You could say that.”

”Ivy, since you’re here, why don’t I take you for a spin?” Seth Scott’s gaze fell on Ivy Sherwood’s face.

”Mr. Scott, your own sister is right here. What’s this about taking Ivy for a spin instead of her? Ivy, I’m a better driver. Why don’t you ride with me?” Julian Grant deliberately antagonized Seth Scott.

Although he had some dealings with Seth Scott, they were merely nodding acquaintances. He could see that Seth’s intentions weren’t pure, and he had to protect his good buddy’s woman for him.

Even if Quentin Blackwood wasn’t here, he couldn’t let this Scott guy get his way.

Both men’s eyes were on Ivy Sherwood, seemingly waiting for her to choose one of them.

Under immense pressure, Ivy Sherwood said, ”Mr. Scott, Mr. Grant, why don’t you two go ahead? I think I’ll sit this one out.”

’She didn’t want to get in either of their cars.’

’If possible, Ivy Sherwood wanted to race a car herself.’

”Come with us. You and Nina are such good friends, you can ride with me,” Seth Scott persisted, still wanting Ivy to join him.

Nina Scott said, ”Go on ahead, big brother. Ivy and I will join later.”

Since Nina Scott had spoken up, Seth Scott finally nodded.

”Alright, I’m off to have some fun then. Ivy, make yourself at home. Call me if you need anything.” Julian Grant hadn’t raced in a long time either, and his hands were getting itchy.

”Mr. Scott, how about a round?” Julian Grant suggested.

Seth Scott agreed. ”Sure.”

Julian Grant and Seth Scott left with smiles, but as soon as he turned, Julian picked up his phone and started messaging a certain someone.

Nina Scott pulled Ivy Sherwood along too. ”Ivy, let’s go find a couple of cars and have some fun. Otherwise, this trip will be a waste.”

”Okay.” Ivy Sherwood wanted to have some fun too.

Just as the two were about to go down and pick their cars, a woman blocked Ivy Sherwood’s path.

Cheryl Yates glared viciously at Ivy Sherwood. She raised her hand, about to slap her across the face.

Ivy Sherwood’s reflexes were quick. She raised her own hand and caught Cheryl Yates’s wrist.

”Cheryl Yates, are you insane?” Nina Scott cursed as soon as she saw what was happening.

”Ivy Sherwood, was this your doing?”

”If you like Quentin Blackwood too, then compete with me fairly! Stop pulling these tricks behind my back!”

Ivy Sherwood frowned. ”I don’t like Quentin Blackwood, and I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

”You can go look it up. I’m busy every day, unlike Miss Yates who has so much free time. I don’t have the time to deal with you. Please, Miss Yates, don’t blame me for everything that goes wrong in your life.”

”If not you, then who could it be?” Cheryl Yates had never felt so wronged in her entire life.

But she didn’t dare truly anger Ivy Sherwood, afraid that Ivy would actually release the photos.

If other people really saw them, how could she continue to be Lustre’s number one socialite? She’d become Lustre’s number one laughingstock.

”So, what exactly happened to Miss Yates that makes you think I did it?”

Of course, Cheryl Yates couldn’t just admit that nude photos of her had been taken. For all she knew, Ivy Sherwood was asking this deliberately, trying to bait her into confessing it herself.

’What a deep, manipulative scheme. Yara Scott said this Ivy Sherwood was a master manipulator, and at first, I didn’t believe her.’

’And Ivy Sherwood is such a good actress, pretending like nothing ever happened. I was almost fooled.’

’If Ivy Sherwood didn’t do it, who else could it have been?’

She had always been extremely careful in her actions. She was a prim and proper lady from a good family. Other heiresses were willing to be her friend, and even those who weren’t so willing didn’t dare to offend her.

Only Ivy Sherwood... Ivy Sherwood opposed her at every turn and had even threatened her over Quentin Blackwood. The only person she could think of was Ivy Sherwood.

”Hah. Ivy Sherwood, it doesn’t matter if you don’t admit it.” She had plenty of ways to deal with someone like Ivy Sherwood!

With that, Cheryl Yates left.

Nina Scott stood beside Ivy Sherwood. ”What did she mean by all that? When did you offend her?”

Ivy Sherwood shook her head. ”I don’t know.”

She didn’t think she had any grievance with Cheryl Yates, and Cheryl’s hostility was completely baffling.

And now this. Cheryl Yates accused her, but she didn’t even know what had happened.

”Well, you’d better be careful. That Cheryl Yates is usually very arrogant. She deliberately tried to get close to you before, hoping to get to Quentin Blackwood through you. You rejected her, and with her personality, she’s definitely holding a grudge. She’s here today, too. Who knows what she might try to do? Ivy, we need to be careful.”

”Mm, I’ll be careful!”

”Don’t worry, I’m here. I’ll protect you.” Nina Scott puffed out her chest.

”You need to be careful too. If they don’t like me, being so close to me might drag you into it as well.”

Ivy Sherwood felt it would be fine if something happened to her, but if Nina Scott got into trouble because of her, she would blame herself terribly.

”Don’t worry, Ivy. I can protect myself. Let’s ignore them. Come on, let’s go pick out our cars.”

”Okay.”

Neither of them saw that in the VIP seats nearby, a beautifully dressed and exquisite woman was taking in the entire scene below.

Joy Sheridan’s gaze landed on Ivy Sherwood. ”That woman... she’s Silas Blackwood’s fiancée?”

The person beside her immediately answered, ”Yes, Miss. That’s Ivy Sherwood.”

”That Cheryl Yates just now said Ivy Sherwood likes Quentin Blackwood, too?” A murderous glint flashed in Joy Sheridan’s eyes.

”Miss Sheridan, President Blackwood certainly wouldn’t be interested in her. Besides, she’s going to be part of the Blackwood Family in the future anyway.”

’She’s average-looking, I suppose.’ Joy Sheridan felt no sense of threat. For the sake of being family in the future, she could hold off on doing anything to this woman for now.

”Is Silas Blackwood coming today?” Joy Sheridan asked.

The person next to her said, ”He’s already here, but he brought a woman named Anna Nash.”

”Mm.” Joy Sheridan smiled faintly. ’So much drama here in Lustre. No wonder Quentin Blackwood doesn’t want to go back to Aethelgard.’

Ivy Sherwood kept feeling like someone was watching her, but when she looked around, she didn’t see anyone. She wondered if she was just imagining things.
