Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

’Impossible, impossible. I’m overthinking this. How could Uncle have anything to do with Ivy Sherwood?’

’Even if Ivy Sherwood were ten times more beautiful, Uncle wouldn’t give her a second glance. I must be losing my mind to even think of it.’

However, Caleb Blackwood’s voice cut through Silas Blackwood’s thoughts. ”You useless thing!”

’He had arranged everything perfectly. He’d told the resort not to give them separate rooms and even had their room decorated in a specific way. But in the end, his good-for-nothing son still screwed it up.’

”What are you waiting for? Go find her! If you don’t bring Ivy Sherwood back today, don’t even think about coming back yourself!”

Silas Blackwood had no choice but to go look for Ivy Sherwood. He thought she might be in her car, but when he went to where it was parked, he saw there was no luggage inside.

Meanwhile, Caleb Blackwood called Ivy Sherwood. He started by apologizing on Silas Blackwood’s behalf, saying Silas was just being immature and asking Ivy to be understanding.

Then he said, ”A car is no place to sleep. It’s not nearly as comfortable as a room. Go back with Silas. I’ve already spoken to him; he won’t be so willful again.”

”Thank you for the kind offer, Uncle Blackwood, but I think staying in my car is just fine.”

”Are you in your car now?” Caleb Blackwood asked.

There was a slight pause on Ivy Sherwood’s end before she replied, ”No, the view is quite nice out here. I went for a walk to take a look.”

”Is your luggage in the car, then? That’s not very safe, is it?”

”It’s alright, Uncle Blackwood. I locked the car. It’s perfectly safe.”

Over the phone, Ivy Sherwood couldn’t see the way Caleb Blackwood’s eyes darkened.

Silas Blackwood was right next to Ivy Sherwood’s car—there was no luggage at all. That, combined with Ivy Sherwood’s recent hesitation, made it obvious she was lying.

’Ivy Sherwood probably isn’t admiring any night view, either. Since Silas can’t find her, she’s most likely in a room.’

’But if Ivy Sherwood has a place to stay, who got her the room?’

’I already gave my orders. No one was to give Ivy Sherwood and Silas Blackwood separate rooms. They were only supposed to have one.’

’In Lustre, no one dares to disobey me. Would the resort staff dare to defy the Blackwood Group?’

’Unless... unless *he* intervened...’

Caleb Blackwood said no more. After hanging up, he called Silas Blackwood to ask if he had seen Quentin Blackwood at the resort.

Silas Blackwood said, ”I have.”

’Just as I thought.’

Caleb Blackwood’s heart sank, his eyes filled with cunning.

’It seems Ivy Sherwood’s current accommodations are likely related to Quentin Blackwood.’

’That third brother of his was impossible to read, even as a child. The moment Quentin joined the Blackwood Family, Caleb knew he was a ravenous wolf.’

’Once he sinks his teeth into a piece of meat, he never lets go.’

’He feared the entire Blackwood Family would end up in Quentin Blackwood’s hands, which was why he had done everything in his power to force him out, to drive him away.’

’Why would Quentin Blackwood help Ivy Sherwood now? His biggest fear was that Quentin knew Ivy’s secret and was approaching her deliberately.’

’No, I absolutely cannot let Quentin Blackwood succeed!’

Silas Blackwood quickly left the parking lot. Just as he was about to head back to his room to rest, he saw Quentin Blackwood.

From the looks of it, Quentin Blackwood had also finished his business and was heading back to rest.

Silas Blackwood immediately changed his route and his mind. He wasn’t going back. He was going to follow Quentin Blackwood.

Quentin Blackwood’s path seemed to lead toward the villa from last night. If he followed him, he might just get to see the woman he’d been dreaming of.

Silas Blackwood trailed behind him all the way to the villa.

’So it was Quentin Blackwood staying here last night! The lights were on, but he still wouldn’t open the door for me. He must have done it on purpose!’

’I’m his family, for crying out loud! Why wouldn’t he open the door? Was he afraid I’d see that woman?’

’It’s not like I said I’d fight Quentin for her. I just said he could pass her to me when he got tired of her.’

’Besides, who knows? Maybe if that woman saw me, she’d choose me instead!’

As Quentin Blackwood opened the door, he didn’t go in right away. Instead, he looked in the direction where Silas Blackwood was hiding. ”Is this what the Blackwood Family teaches you? To sneak around like a thief?”

Seeing he’d been discovered, Silas Blackwood stopped hiding and stepped out. ”Uncle, since you’re the one staying here, why didn’t you open the door for me last night?”

Quentin Blackwood’s indifferent gaze fell upon him, and Silas Blackwood felt as if he were being flayed alive by knives.

”Why should I open the door for you?”

”You! Your surname is Blackwood too, and I even call you Uncle! It was bad enough you wouldn’t open the door, but you even had someone come and drive me away. Are you up to something shady?”

Silas Blackwood had no idea he’d hit the nail on the head.

When Silas Blackwood arrived, the atmosphere inside had indeed been delicate. And after he left, things had indeed happened.

Quentin Blackwood’s eyes narrowed. If he had a choice, he wouldn’t want the surname Blackwood at all.

”Do I need to report my actions to you?” the man asked, his voice low and menacing in the darkness.

Silas Blackwood felt an immense pressure bearing down on him, and the hair on his body stood on end.

’Report to him? Of course not, but something about this just didn’t sit right with him.’

’But since I’m already here, I should take this chance to go inside and look around. Maybe that woman is still here.’

”Uncle, I need to use the restroom. Since I’m here, why don’t you let me pop in and use it?”

Having found an excuse, Silas Blackwood slipped into the room.

The room was pitch-black. Using the light from outside, Silas Blackwood fumbled for the switch on the wall.

He flipped on the lights and took in the entire room.

The room was spotlessly clean. Silas Blackwood looked around; it seemed no one was there.

Wondering if she might be upstairs, Silas Blackwood headed straight for the second floor.

”Stop. Didn’t you need the restroom? There’s one downstairs,” Quentin Blackwood called out to him.

The more Quentin Blackwood tried to stop him from going upstairs, the more convinced he was that someone was hiding there.

Silas Blackwood pretended not to hear and went straight up, where he saw the upstairs bedroom was completely empty.

There weren’t even any spare clothes, as if there were no traces of anyone living there at all.

There was no one in the room. After searching everywhere, Silas Blackwood had no choice but to go back downstairs.

As soon as he came downstairs, he saw Quentin Blackwood sitting on the sofa, legs crossed. He looked like a mafia boss, exuding the aura of a leader with his every move.

There were several bodyguard types standing near Quentin Blackwood. Before Silas Blackwood even made it down the stairs, Quentin gave a slight wave of his hand, and the security personnel came over, grabbing Silas by the arms.

”What do you think you’re doing? Let go of me!”

”Quentin Blackwood, what is the meaning of this?”

”I can walk on my own! Don’t touch me!”

But no matter how much Silas Blackwood shouted, it was useless.

He was dragged out and thrown out of the villa.

A few tourists happened to be passing by and saw the commotion. They commented without bothering to lower their voices, ”Hey, look, who’s that? Looks like he just got thrown out of there.”

”It’s kind of comical. I think that’s Young Master Blackwood, isn’t it? I’ve seen him before. Let me get a better look.”

”I think it is Young Master Blackwood! Why would Young Master Blackwood get thrown out by someone?”

Silas Blackwood quickly covered his face. ”You’ve got the wrong person! I’m not Silas Blackwood!”
