Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 2007 1472: Transcendence (2)

But whether Li Zhixuan did it on purpose or not, she never closed the cave mansion, so their discussion of the Dao echoed from above, spreading throughout Mount Wanxian.

This unexpected sermon left the clan members pleasantly surprised; some sat down on the spot, calming their hearts and minds to listen, while others remembered to notify their friends before listening, telling them to hurry back home to the clan.

As a result, many loose cultivators saw streaks of spirit light soar into the sky, flying from all directions toward Mount Wanxian.

They were startled by this spectacle; some revealed looks of shock and fear on their faces and bodies, murmuring, ”With such commotion from the Li family, could it be another major event is about to take place?!”

Even those spies misunderstood, each hurriedly sending news back to the powers behind them.

But how would they know that the cause of all this was merely a few Heavenly Immortal cultivators preaching, and that the members of the Li Family were rushing back to listen to the Dao, not because of those ominous things they imagined.

And as Li Zhirui and Li Zhixuan sensed more and more clan members returning, their discussion of the Dao, which they had originally planned to end, was tacitly continued.

Moreover, this time, they no longer spoke of those abstruse and inscrutable mysteries of the Great Tao, but began from the very basics.

When Li Chengsheng and Li Chengshuo returned to Mount Wanxian, what they saw were countless clan members seated cross-legged throughout the mountain range: by streams, at forest edges, or atop blue stones.

Tens of thousands of cultivators operated their methods at the same time, absorbing spiritual energy; the entire mountain was shrouded in Five Element spiritual energy, appearing richly splendid and beautiful.

The sound of the Great Tao echoed among the mountains, benefiting not only all the Li clan but also the spirit beasts and spirit monsters in the forests, and even those rocks and grasses whose spiritual intelligence had yet to awaken.

Shenling and Mu Qi were the last to arrive, and not long after they did, the sermon was nearing its end.

”Many thanks to the honored ancestors for preaching and passing down the Dao!”

No one knew who started it, but soon it formed into a surging tide of thunderous voices, rumbling ceaselessly throughout the heavens and earth.

...

And this sudden preaching was also fruitful for Li Zhirui, Li Zhixuan, and the others, each calming their heart and contemplating to digest what they gained.

Thus, Li Zhixuanʼs transcendence was delayed once again.

”Zhixuan, what are your thoughts on this?” Only when everyone had come to themselves did Li Zhirui speak.

”The karmic debts I have formed are not many—just with heaven and earth, the clan, and a portion of our kin.”

It was not that Li Zhixuan was overly ascetic and avoided karma, but that anyone who formed evil karma with her eventually met their end at her hands.

Thus, her karmic ties naturally became few.

As for the debts she owed the clan and its people, Li Zhixuan had more or less entirely repaid them through her recent preaching, by passing down her inheritance, and leaving behind a wealth of spiritual objects.

What remained was not only her difficulty, but an immense barrier for all living beings seeking transcendence: the karmic debt owed to the Primal Spirit Realm!

This karma was too immense, and must be resolved with enough accumulated merit.

”Originally, I intended to develop a method that could benefit the transcendence of the world, but Jiu returned too quickly, leaving me with only the barest idea and no clear line of thought. The rest, I leave to you to perfect, Jiu…”

At last, Li Zhixuan took out a jade slip and handed it to Li Zhirui.

For the matter of transcending the Primal Spirit Realm, no one had invested enough spirit, energy, and focus, so that now, when they sought the means, they could find no related methods at all.

Therefore, she could only go all out at this moment, displaying her full strength while also beginning to reduce her own consumption—after all, their plan had to succeed.

The process of transcending the world brought no calamity, just shifting wind and cloud, as if a great tribulation was about to be unleashed.

And Li Zhixuan chose to expend her own merit, slowly dissolving her karmic debts. Though the process might take longer, it was stable enough.

Li Zhirui and the others watched from afar as Li Zhixuan, who had always been steady-footed, gradually began to rise into the air as her burden of Primal Spirit Realm karma lessened with time.

Or perhaps this was the rejection of heaven and earth toward her, using this method to force her out.

”Why would such a thing occur?” Li Chengsheng and the others found it all very strange.

Though none of them had witnessed the transcendence of a living being firsthand, they had thoroughly studied every detail of the process, and knew this was never supposed to happen.

Among them, only Li Zhirui understood this peculiar phenomenon.

He knew it was because Li Zhixuan had already set foot on the path toward the Chaos God Demon Dao Body—an aberration. Previously, her karma and merit had obscured this; now it was revealed.

But now, as she transcended and left, all her merit and karma needed to be settled, so the Primal Spirit Realmʼs rejection of her surfaced, growing steadily stronger.

In fact, it was this reason that forced Li Zhixuan, after just breaking through to Heavenly Immortal, to step onto the path of transcendence before her cultivation and realm reached their limits.

”Whoʼs to say whether this is a blessing or a curse.”

Watching Li Zhixuan rise ever higher, Li Zhirui muttered quietly to himself.

”Everyone, look!”

Her ascent drew the eyes of those clan members who had rushed back for the sermon.

Clan Leader Li Debo, full of bewilderment, hurried up and bowed, ”Greetings to all honored ancestors. Might I ask what Ancestor Xuan is doing?”

”Zhixuan is dispersing karma, in order to transcend this realm.”

Li Zhirui waved his hand, saying, ”Clan Leader, after you return, calm the clan members with the elders. Do not let any unrest arise.”

”Yes!”

Having received his answer and command, Li Debo returned to Mount Wanxian to pacify the clan members.

As time trickled by, all her karmic debts were resolved, and in the end, there was even a bit of merit left—so she simply used it all up.

After all, once she left the Primal Spirit Realm, the efficacy of this merit would be greatly diminished; better to use it now.

Li Zhixuan stood beyond the boundary membrane, her face with a dazzling smile, threw back her head and cried, ”I smash jade dragons and send flying phoenixes, lift the golden lock and ride the flood dragon free!”

Her words rang with exuberant pain and liberation, stirring a longing in Li Zhirui and the others following behind her.

Especially Li Chengsheng and Li Chengshuo, who felt the limitations most keenly; they wished more than anything to break off all karmic ties soon.

”Congratulations, Zhixuan, you have attained your wish.” Li Zhirui was first to offer his congratulations, and the others one after another voiced their heartfelt blessings.

”Thank you, Jiu!”

Li Zhixuan bowed deeply to Li Zhirui and said, ”If not for Jiuʼs appreciation back then, and later for the many pills gifted to me for cultivation, with my talents I might not even have surpassed Foundation Establishment, let alone achieve such things as today.”

”With this parting, perhaps there may never again be a chance to meet. Here, your little sister wishes you the proving of the Great Tao, that you may leave the Three Realms and Five Elements and attain the eternal Dao Fruit!”

This sudden act of Li Zhixuan caught even Li Zhirui by surprise. Not until she finished did he hurry forward to help her up.

With deep emotion and a gentle smile, he said, ”How much of todayʼs achievement is due to me? All thanks is to your own unyielding will. Here, I too wish you the attainment of the Great Tao and the eternal Dao Fruit!”

”Jiu, Iʼll go ahead.”

With that, she turned into a streak of sword light, vanishing into the gray and misty void.

But no one knew that Li Zhixuan paused midway, glanced back, and could only see Li Zhirui and the others still existing within the void—yet the Primal Spirit Realm behind them was already invisible.

She knew well that the Primal Spirit Realm was there, but it could no longer be seen.

In that instant, tears streamed from her eyes.

...

The news of Li Zhixuanʼs transcendence could not possibly be concealed, and the Li family did not intend to hide it in the first place.

Once this news spread, it caused all the surrounding powers to feel bewildered: for no good reason, why let a newly ascended Heavenly Immortal transcend? Was this not obviously weakening their own strength?

All the more so since the one leaving was the war-god sword cultivator Li Zhixuan, which made the Li familyʼs high-end combat power instantly much weaker.

The outside world buzzed with speculation, but the Li family had absolutely no intention of clarifying anything.
