Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 1984: Chapter 1461: Forcibly Inserting

At their wits’ end, the cultivators had no choice but to head north, seeking the living beings of the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance, hoping to resolve their own karma through war with them.

But when they arrived in the Northern Domain, they were shocked to discover that the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance had no intention of accepting their challenge at all!

At first, the cultivators were baffled, completely unable to understand why they would refuse and resist. If they didn’t resolve their karma now, once the grand calamity was over, it would no longer be so easy to set right.

If karma clung to them, it could happen that during cultivation, they’d suddenly suffer from qi deviation and fall into madness.

In the end, it was only under the threats of several Heavenly Immortal cultivators that the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance finally revealed their reason for dodging the fight: all of them had already resolved their karma!

”What?!”

”How is that possible?”

”Impossible!”

The news was like a stone thrown into a thousand layers of waves; even the well-traveled Heavenly Immortals instinctively denied it.

”Because we sacrificed a Taixu Illusionary Realm transformed from a Great Thousand World...” Since they’d already told part of it, they might as well say it all. After all, this method was unlikely to appear a second time.

As it happened, it was a matter of coincidence—a while back, a Heavenly Immortal was wandering the Void near the Primal Spirit Realm when he happened to encounter such a Taixu Illusionary Realm.

Due to its excessively high grade, neither he nor his race could help the Heavenly Dao refine it in a short time by themselves.

The longer the delay, the more the world’s origin would dissipate, and the less they would benefit, so they negotiated with other races, bringing them all into the endeavor.

As a result, barely had they finished refining the Taixu Illusionary Realm, and within a few days, the grand calamity erupted!

At first, it was the weaker, sparsely populated small races. Fearing their heritage would be destroyed in the tempest, they used their newly earned merit to resolve their karma outright, thus extricating themselves from the grand calamity at its very beginning.

Once this news spread, many other races followed suit.

But for some larger races, the merit gained wasn’t sufficient, so they had to offer up some of their own merit as well.

There was no alternative—the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance had only revived and developed over the past few thousand years. Though that sounds long, for a faction, it’s still somewhat insufficient.

Especially since all these races faced a single problem: their reproductive rate was very slow!

So even though the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance now possessed a number of Heavenly Immortals, there was a severe shortage of successors and young powerhouses.

Thus, they were so unwilling to participate in the grand calamity, choosing instead to pay a greater price in merit rather than ever thinking of fighting with the other camps.

That being said!

Those few Heavenly Immortals, hearing that the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance had refined a fallen Great Thousand World that had become a Taixu Illusionary Realm, were shocked yet again.

Their luck was simply too good—so good it verged on outrageous!

Looking at the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance’s indestructible defensive structures and measures—and most importantly, their total lack of intention to engage in battle—

This meant that the Immortal Tao would have to pay an even greater price just to force their opponents to take action.

But if they proceeded this way, the Immortal Tao might not even break through the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance’s defenses before sustaining significant casualties and losses. What sense would that make?

Helpless once more, the cultivators had no choice but to leave the Northern Domain again.

”What should we do now?” one Heavenly Immortal couldn’t help but ask.

The Divine Path stands aloof beyond the heavens; the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance had long since transcended the calamity and played no further part; the Sea Clan and Demonic Tao, the human race and the Devil Race, had already become each other’s opponents!

In other words, in the vast Primal Spirit Realm, the Immortal Tao couldn’t even find a single faction of similar strength with whom to battle and thus resolve their karma.

”We can’t very well have the Immortal Tao slaughter each other among ourselves, can we?”

It wasn’t that they feared becoming a joke to the other factions; rather, internal strife would inflict even greater damage and ruin upon the Immortal Tao!

The grand calamity was no illusionary game—it was a true and brutal slaughter!

It was impossible for two factions to fight each other in the calamity, then simply reconcile as before when it was all over.

Sowing the seeds of hatred was the norm; after the calamity ended, the two sides would likely erupt into war again!

At that point, regardless of the outcome, any great war would inevitably bring casualties.

And this situation was not just a one-off, but across the entirety of the Immortal Tao!

No matter how mighty the Immortal Tao, after back-to-back calamities and internal conflict, their strength would inevitably fall sharply.

Wouldn’t this open up opportunities for the other camps?

So no matter what, they would never agree to resolve karma through internal battles within the Immortal Tao.

”What do you all think of splitting our forces into two, heading separately for the West Continent and the Southern Domain, and under the banner of aiding the human race, forcibly inserting ourselves into the battlefield?” Li Zhixuan put forth her plan.

When the Demonic Tao withdrew, she hadn’t left the army immediately either, because she didn’t know where to fulfill her heart’s desire, so she followed them to the Northern Domain and flew back again.

After much contemplation, she finally came up with this idea of splitting their action.

”Excellent!”

”That’s a sound idea!”

...

But what Li Zhixuan hadn’t expected was that after hearing this idea, the others all nodded their heads in agreement.

They had no other choice—their situation was truly bleak now!

Lost and not knowing what to do next, their once blazing morale, after round upon round of depletion, had utterly withered.
