Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 1970: Chapter 1454: Inventory

“This is also the family’s first conquest of a Middle Thousand World, so we are lacking experience in many aspects. As a result, the number of people involved may have been a bit bloated, which diluted your share of the merit.” After hearing this, Li Zhirui spoke slowly.

At the same time, another matter occurred to him.

Back then, when Da Qing and the others suddenly went to help in the Floating Light Realm—even though there had been no request for assistance from the family—they brought along quite a number of clansmen.

Although they truly did provide significant help, this time they still took at least ten percent of the merit!

At that moment, Li Zhirui had suspected that the Heavenly Dao was secretly inciting things, not wanting Li Zhixuan to transcend and leave so soon.

However, since there was no evidence to support this speculation, he didn’t mention it to anyone. He decided to observe what would happen next in the Primal Spirit Realm—then, he could judge the truth.

“But if it hadn’t been for the assistance of the clansmen and the loose cultivators, who could say we would have taken the Floating Light Realm so smoothly?” Li Zhixuan didn’t think too much about it; she even felt that being able to resolve seventy percent of her accumulated karma was already very good.

One must understand, this entire campaign took only two or three hundred years in total.

To be able to resolve seventy percent of karma that had been accumulating for countless years in such a short time—what more was there to be dissatisfied about?

Seeing this, Li Zhirui said nothing more.

“Clan Leader, once the methods of the Floating Light Realm have been sorted, send me a copy.”

“The stone from another mountain can be used to polish jade!”

At their current realm, cultivating step by step—even setting aside accomplishing anything in a short time—could mean that even after several thousand years, there might only be a slight improvement.

And at such a time, one must rely on other methods.

For instance, venturing into the Void for refinement, or comprehending related laws—but with the creation of the interworld travel secret technique, there was now a new path.

That was, as Li Zhirui was doing, to comprehend the civilizational essences of another world!

“Ancestor Xuan, would you like any?” Li Xiuyuan asked offhandedly.

“No need.” Li Zhixuan refused without even thinking.

She did not have such patience, and had already decided on her next destination—after resting with the family for a while, she would head straight to the Void for tempering.

“Go on with your work; we won’t disturb you.” With that, the two took their leave one after the other, each returning to their cave mansion to organize the recent harvests and insights.

…

Cave Abyss Sect.

“Do you all think this heaven and earth change is related to the Li family?” After the elders had all read the intelligence reports, the current Sect Leader asked in a deep voice.

The Jade Slip contained only one piece of information: that above Mount Wanxian, a massive Merit Golden Cloud had appeared for a moment, but soon vanished.

Moreover, the timing was highly coincidental—almost exactly the same as the changes in heaven and earth!

“The Li family is just a newly risen Heavenly Immortal family—what ability could they possibly possess to perform such an act, so favorable to the world?” An Elder immediately voiced his doubts.

“Exactly, they’re merely a family that happened to ride their luck a few times.”

Even though the Li family now had several Heavenly Immortals, and had provided useful information on multiple occasions—so much so that many powers owed them favors—still, there were many who looked down on the Li family, believing there was no comparison between them.

For such comments, which clearly showed a lack of understanding of the background, the Sect Leader simply ignored them.

Even if their foundation was slightly weaker, in other aspects, they were not so lacking—in some ways, they were even better than the Cave Abyss Sect.

For instance, the Cave Abyss Sect had not produced a new Heavenly Immortal in many years. Those who remained had all broken through long ago.

While accumulated experience over the years might make these Immortals a bit stronger than the few in the Li family, this was actually a rather dangerous sign.

Because it meant that the Cave Abyss Sect had no successors!

If not for the fact that Heavenly Immortals had no lifespan limit, and barring major world catastrophes or major wars between realms—they were almost impossible to perish—the Cave Abyss Sect might already have declined by now.

“Previously, the Li family was mass-recruiting loose cultivators to venture to an Outer World—most likely intending to conquer it. That Merit Golden Cloud may well be related.” Another Elder, as if a thought had occurred to him, spoke up.

“If it was only conquering a world, there shouldn’t have been any merit descending, nor would it have caused worldly changes; there must be other reasons we are unaware of.”

…

The group began heated discussions. Ideas kept emerging, but none were reliable.

“I heard there’s a force that once offered up a Minor Thousand World and thereby obtained a little merit—could this be the reason?” another Elder suddenly interjected.

“Offering an Outer World?!”

Everyone was stunned upon hearing this.

To be honest, none of them had considered this, because the Cave Abyss Sect had not delved into the offering methods of this kind.

“To conquer an Outer World across realms, while having one’s strength suppressed, the casualties paid would be significant—even if the Li family gathered many loose cultivators to help!”

An Elder furrowed his brow and said, “Yet even so, if the Li family still chose to offer the world, it can only mean what they seek is no small matter!”

“Could it be they wish to use this method to obtain great merit, in order to promote the birth of more Heavenly Immortals?”

This casual remark instantly drew a chorus of exclamations.

“There might really be such a possibility!”

Everyone knew that merit had many uses—not just resolving karma, but also improving one’s comprehension, lessening Thunder Tribulation, and so on. Assisting cultivation was one of its functions.

Even the usually silent Sect Leader’s expression changed at this moment.
