Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 1999 1468: Summary (Part 2)

But now, the time is almost up, and he is already nurturing candidates for the next Clan Leader. So although he has issued the relevant orders, the follow-up still depends on the new Clan Leader to maintain and perfect them.

After all, no policy is flawless from the very beginning, and no matter how perfect the plan is, itʼs easy for deviations to appear during implementation.

If you donʼt pay extra attention and make timely corrections when problems occur, then even if the original intent was good, a slight deviation in the process can end with a result completely off the mark.

Soon after, Li Xiuyuan stepped down from his position as Clan Leader, and among several candidates, a clansman named Li Debo received the recognition of more clan members and became the new Clan Leader of the Li family.

...

In these years, Li Zhirui stayed in the family, did not cultivate, and did not comprehend the Laws, but instead devoted all his time to organizing his insights and experiences in cultivation.

In addition, all kinds of methods he had mastered, including Divine Powers, Secret Techniques, Pill Recipes, and so on—anything that could be taught—he recorded them all, organized by category, into Jade Slips.

And these things can be seen as the price he pays to settle karma with the family.

After completing this important task, Li Zhirui then devoted his time to refining pills.

Except for keeping some pills for himself, to help his own recovery, he planned to leave all the rest to the family.

As for the countless, possibly precious, mutated, or rare Spiritual Objects in his spatial storage, Li Zhirui planned to hand them over to the family before he left.

Of course, he would leave behind Spirit Seeds, since although the World Laws are different, they all exist in the same Universe, so the basic Great Dao Laws remain unchanged.

By then, these Spirit Seeds would still be useful, whether theyʼre used to trade with other beings, continue to cultivate, or refine pills.

From all the preparations Li Zhirui was making, itʼs not hard to see that he was already fully prepared for transcendence and departure.

But the timing of this really wasnʼt something he could control himself!

Because he planned to use the evil filth accumulated while purifying the world, and after gaining massive Merit, offset that karma and fulfill the conditions for transcendence.

But not long ago, a great calamity erupted. The evil filth wasnʼt completely cleansed, but at least wonʼt cause any obstacles to the development of the Primal Spirit Realm.

At this time, even if Li Zhirui purified all the remaining evil filth, the Merit he obtained would be somewhat reduced.

So he would have to wait for a while, or hope that some unexpected event would give him a new way to obtain Merit.

...

Western Continent.

After the great calamity, there were just a few peaceful decades, but soon war broke out again!

And this time, the Demonic Tao launched the attack personally, launching a fierce assault on the Ghost Clan, whom they had always looked down upon!

Originally, everyone thought this weak faction could never withstand their onslaught, but the outcome shocked all.

Not only did the Ghost Clan withstand the attack, they even took the advantage thanks to their home ground, and killed quite a few Demon Cultivators.

This result infuriated the Demonic Tao—a faction they never took seriously, previously hunted everywhere by the Yin God Lineage, actually fended them off head-on this time!

Although no one would believe the Ghost Clan could rival the Demonic Tao from now on, such a result was a hard pill to swallow for the Demon Cultivators.

So the Demonic Tao decided to send fifty thousand troops, led by several Heavenly Immortals, to attack the territory held by the Ghost Clan, hoping to utterly smash them, or at least drive them out of the Western Continent, never tolerating their occupation of any land in the West.

Yet even so, the Demonic Tao still found themselves struggling, and no result could be seen in a short time.

Now, no one dared to underestimate the Ghost Clan anymore.

No one knew how, in just a few thousand years, the Ghost Clan went from being hunted by the Yin God Lineage, to now being able to withstand a large-scale assault by Demon Cultivators.

But what everyone knew was that from now on, the Ghost Clan would no longer be a presence ignored by the various factions.

If the only opponent before the Demonic Tao was the Ghost Clan, they could have relied on their deep foundations to slowly wear down the Ghost Clanʼs strength. The process would be slow, but at least it would be effective.

But the problem was, behind the Demonic Tao, an even more formidable foe—the Sea Clan—was awaiting them, forcing the Demonic Tao into a two-front war.

Yet on neither front had they gained the upper hand…

On the battlefield with the Ghost Clan, things were still manageable; at least the Ghost Clan wasnʼt expanding, and the two sides were deadlocked. But the situation with the Sea Clan was dire—they had already broken through the blockade and aimed to seize more waters.

However, no matter what, the Demon Cultivators were unwilling to see other beings appearing within the Western Continent!

At first they hadnʼt won any advantage, but gradually, relying on sheer numbers, they finally managed to reclaim their forces and territory, driving the Sea Clan out of the interior.

”Damn it!”

A Demon Cultivator couldnʼt help but curse: ”Those damned beasts! If they hadnʼt launched a sneak attack back then, how would we be facing this situation now?!”

Now the morale of the Demonic Tao was at rock bottom, many Demon Cultivators were injured and at a loss for what to do.

If not for the Demonic Tao still counting as a powerful force, given their current performance, they would no doubt become a textbook example of what not to do!

Whatʼs worse, faced with the imposing Sea Clan, they couldnʼt think of a way to counter them in time, wasting precious opportunities to react.

At the same time—

In Mount Rahu of Demonic Tao.

”Given the current situation, the Demonic Tao can no longer afford a two-front war!” a Heavenly Immortal Demon Cultivator said grimly.

Though reluctant to admit it, this was exactly their situation now. They were no longer the mighty Demonic Tao of old.

Now, they could only pick one between the Sea Clan and Ghost Clan to confront first, and after dealing with one, then consider how to handle the other.

Ideally, during this process, the other force would be unable to attack the Demonic Tao.

Obviously, no one could possibly achieve all these requirements.

So, they could only settle for the next best and launch fierce attacks on one side while just defending on the other.

Given the respective strengths of the Ghost Clan and Sea Clan, it was best to pick the Ghost Clan as the target—which was exactly what they did.

”Defend against the Sea Clan?”

This demand gave all the Demon Cultivators a headache—the Sea Clan was powerful and brave, and the terrain was open with no natural defenses. How could they possibly defend?

”Why not send someone skilled in stealth to the Sea Eye, and use a Secret Technique to pollute the Sea Eye, forcing the Sea Clan to retreat?”

No one knew who made this suggestion, but it quickly won most of the Demon Cultivatorsʼ approval.

There was nothing else to do; the Demonic Tao simply wasnʼt equipped to handle the current tangled situation in the Western Continent and could only try to deal with one target at a time.

So, after some preparations, a Heavenly Immortal Demon Cultivator skilled in stealth and concealment set out with a gourd full of filthy evil substances.

This cultivator entered the Western Sea from a flank of the battlefield—even the Sea Clan didnʼt expect a Demon Cultivator would dare sneak in—and made straight for the Sea Eye.

Donʼt forget, the Western Sea had been under Demonic Taoʼs control for a long time; he knew exactly where the Sea Eye was and didnʼt need to waste any time searching.

And before anyone realized, the Demon Cultivator had already reached the vicinity of the Sea Eye.

In fact, the Sea Clan had left people to guard the Sea Eye, but the Demon Tao sent an expert in stealth, so they failed to notice at all.

Once he entered the Sea Eye, although for various reasons he couldnʼt reach its deepest parts, the evil filth in his gourd would spread and multiply on its own!

And precisely for this reason, after a period of time, the Sea Eye started to emit a strong stench, and what should have been pure blue seawater had become diluted black sewage.

Once this abnormality appeared, it was immediately discovered by the Sea Clan.

”Damn it! Damn it!”

”How did you let a Demon Cultivator sneak into the Sea Eye without realizing it at all?!”
