Rebuilding the Immortal Cultivator Clan

Chapter 1990: Chapter 1464: The End

”Li Xiuting!”

To be fair, Li Xiuting’s performance was indeed quite outstanding, and during this calamity, the contributions he made to the family were among the greatest!

So when an Elder mentioned having him lead the clan members to hunt Devil Beasts in the mountains, resolving karma for the family as soon as possible, no one objected.

”Then it’s settled—he shall do it!”

Li Xiuyuan did not consider anyone else—after all, the Devil Beasts within Shanhai State had weak cultivation and strength. Their existence was mainly for the younger generation’s tempering, so there was no need for them to be too powerful.

Thus, Li Xiuting, who had only just returned to Mount Wanxian to rest for a few days, received the family order to lead some clan members to several mountain ranges to hunt Devil Beasts.

He was quick-witted, and upon hearing the order, immediately guessed that the family believed the calamity was about to end and was hurrying to settle their karma.

Therefore, Li Xiuting dared not delay; he swiftly mustered his team and led the clansmen into the mountains to slay Devil Beasts.

With the efforts of this group, it took only a month to eliminate about seventy percent of the Devil Beasts within Shanhai State. The remaining ones were either pregnant females or undeveloped younglings.

Of course, this was partly due to the Devil Beasts’ weakness, but much of it had to do with Li Xiuting’s leadership.

Naturally, throughout this process, injuries and deaths were inevitable, but the numbers were low, and most only suffered wounds.

From then on, the Li family made no further significant moves.

After all, their karma was resolved, the Sea Clan were in deep hiding, and the Ten Thousand Spirits Alliance was entrenched—so even if they wanted to earn merit, there was nowhere to do so.

Thus, everyone returned to their posts. Aside from not being able to cultivate as before, everything else was the same; they quietly awaited the end of the calamity.

For the Li family, life seemed like a paradise apart from the world, but elsewhere in the Primal Spirit Realm, others continued their struggle against the calamity.

This was especially true for cultivators and Human Dao cultivators in the Southern Domain—they were the most numerous. Yet, after the recent great war, much of the Devil Race’s karma had been resolved, so they were naturally unwilling to remain, making their sons’ lives mere stepping stones for others.

But would the human race resign themselves so easily? In the end, they actually gave chase; the Devil Race could only fight and retreat, until they withdrew to the Hundred Thousand Mountains—their lair—and only then did the human race finally halt.

After all, if they truly stormed in, the Devil Race would fight to the death; even if victorious, their own side would suffer disastrous losses—there was no need for this.

Yet, with their karma still clinging to them, they had no better solution and didn’t know what to do next.

As for a war between Human Dao and Immortal Dao? The leadership on both sides hadn’t lost their minds—they would never do something so foolish as reigniting the flames of war between the factions for generations to come.

Left with no options, they were down to just one target!

That was the Demonic Tao of the Western Domain!

They had no intention of going to the Far West, to take part in the war against the Sea Clan—too distant, and perhaps by the time they arrived, the calamity would already be over.

As Heavenly Immortal Li Zhirui could sense changes in the world, and among them were dozens of Heavenly Immortals—while not everyone knew, certainly some did.

So instead of traveling far, they hunted Demon Cultivators within West Continent itself!

Whether or not this would incense Demonic Tao and bring retribution—this, they did not care about.

What comes after can be dealt with later; for now, the priority is to resolve karma.

Besides, Immortal and Demon have always been mortal enemies, Human Dao and Demon Cultivators frequently clash—whether old hatreds pile on or not, it hardly matters now.

Thus, Human Dao and Immortal Dao gathered those cultivators who had not cleared their karma and joined forces, flying toward the West Continent.

At this time, there were still many Demon Cultivators on the lands of the Western Continent; some guarded mountain gates or ancestral lands, some were Loose Cultivators.

How could this situation withstand the wolf-like assaults of Immortal Dao and Human Dao?

In droves, Demon Cultivators began fleeing for their lives, allowing the two factions not only to resolve karma, but also seize many Spiritual Objects and Methods.

Soon, this news reached the front lines at the Far West!

”Damn it! Those Immortal Dao cultivators are truly despicable—attacking sneakily from the rear and destroying our inheritance!”

The Demon Cultivators were filled with rage. At the front lines, they held no advantage; now the rear was in utter chaos as well. Together, it seemed the entire Demonic Tao was on the brink of collapse and destruction.

”Don’t those Immortal Dao cultivators want to battle the Sea Clan and resolve their karma? Why don’t we simply cede the field—let them face the Sea Clan alone while we turn back to drive those damned cultivators and Human Dao out of the West Continent!”

”If we let them continue to attack like this, the whole West Continent might fall into their hands!”

This suggestion from a Heavenly Immortal Demon Cultivator was unanimously agreed upon!

After the deliberation, they kept the news well-concealed; none of the cultivators in the other encampment noticed a thing.

They planned to leave behind a big ”gift” for the cultivators as they departed!

So several uneventful days passed, until the flames of war were lit once more.

The Sea Clan remained as formidable as ever, unleashing hordes of Water Devils to form thick, black waves, launching a fierce assault on the land.

The sight was terrifying, but the cultivators were now accustomed to it, so they remained composed. Only when the Water Devils entered attack range did they unleash their long-prepared assaults.

By previous tacit agreement, the Demon Cultivators on the other side would also strike at this moment, jointly fending off the Beast Tide.

Yet, the Demon Cultivators’ next move completely shocked both cultivators and Water Devils—they retreated!

”Not good!”

Several Heavenly Immortal cultivators instantly realized what was happening, immediately directing the others to alter their formations, focusing first on withstanding this Sea Clan assault before deciding what to do next.

If the cultivators felt shock and rage, the Sea Clan, on the other hand, let out peals of joyful laughter.

Previously, it was only because both Immortal and Demon joined forces that their assaults were blocked; now, with only cultivators holding the line and Demon Cultivators fleeing en masse, such a gaping hole opened in the defenses—if they couldn’t seize this advantage, they might as well retreat to the sea and abandon all hope of invading the waters of West Continent.

”Damn it! What are those bastards thinking? Don’t they realize that if the Sea Clan claims the inland waters, the threat to the human race will be catastrophic?”

The cultivators—unaware that the Demon Cultivators’ ancestral lands were being purged by the forces from the rear—couldn’t understand the Demon Cultivators’ thinking or accept their actions.

But for Demonic Tao, beset both before and behind, choosing to focus on the lands of West Continent was only natural. Not only did this concern their inheritance, it was their very foundation!
