Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 443: Chapter 275: The Turned-Off Man

As the dinner party was winding down.

You Shaoqiang added Lin Chu to the United Youth Association’s group chat and @-mentioned everyone with a message.

”@everyone, let’s welcome Lin Chu. President Lin’s main businesses are the LC Golf Club, LC Retail, media, and his Security Group. If you have any business needs, you can handle them internally. Feel free to DM him. However, any private loans or financing among group members must be reported in advance.”

After what happened with Zhuang Yingcheng, You Shaoqiang had become much more cautious, especially about things like loans and financing.

It was too painful.

He lost a friend and lost the money.

It was a double loss.

And he was the one who had to clean up the shitty mess.

At this moment, Lin Chu looked at the group chat. There were 41 members in total.

In a way, this group chat represented the top circle of young people in the Greater Bay Area. The average net worth was at least several billion.

In this group, a few billion was just entry-level.

”Hello everyone, I’m Lin Chu. If you need anything, just ask. I’ll help if I can.”

Lin Chu casually typed a message in the group.

He immediately received a number of replies, mostly pleasantries and polite greetings.

Seeing this message, You Shaoqiang was slightly surprised for a moment, but then he couldn’t help but shake his head and smile.

’That’s a top-tier power move. The air of a big brother.’

In truth, deep down, he was extremely curious. He really wanted to ask one question.

’Who on earth is the powerhouse backing you?’

But he forced himself to hold back.

It wasn’t the right time.

Not even close.

’We’ve only known each other for a few days. Why would he tell you the secret to his success?’

”Looks like you’re more suited to be the president than I am, Brother Chu.”

You Shaoqiang said with a teasing smile, obviously referring to what Lin Chu had said in the group chat. He didn’t feel any discomfort. With his personality and way of handling people, he wasn’t the type to be ”hurt” by that kind of domineering attitude.

”Not at all... Just don’t drag me into any drama. I hate dealing with trouble.”

”I like making friends. Managing people? Not so much.”

”Alright, what time is your flight? It’s about that time, isn’t it? Let’s go.”

Lin Chu said with a casual smile.

’Actually, friendship is a lot like love. Timing is everything.’

’The old saying goes, ”New clothes are best, but old friends are best.” Yet as time goes on, the intensity of those feelings inevitably fades.’

’But there’s nothing to be done about it.’

’Life is a one-way train journey. You can only move forward, and the further you go, the colder and more indifferent the scenery becomes.’

’If I had met You Shaoqiang earlier—not even that much earlier, say, just half a year ago—the intensity of our friendship would be completely different from what it is now.’

’But back then... on what grounds could I have possibly known him?’

’I wouldn’t have even been qualified to sit at the same table with him.’

”Alright, let’s go then. I’ll see you on the 6th.”

You Shaoqiang stood up with a smile. His girlfriend, seeing that they were finished and ready to leave, obediently went to pay the bill.

”What I said earlier, about the stock market investments, have you thought about it?”

As they walked out of the restaurant and before parting ways, You Shaoqiang brought it up again.

He was quite interested in the matter. It was all about maximizing resources, and since Lin Chu had this advantage, it would be a waste not to use it.

Lin Chu smiled faintly. ”Look, what’s the rush? There’s no need to be so anxious. It’s okay to be desperate for sex, but never be desperate for money. Hasty money doesn’t last.”

You Shaoqiang was speechless.

He could only give a helpless smile.

At that moment, he even had a faint feeling that Lin Chu might have some inside information about the overall economic environment. That would explain why he could act so unhurriedly, sitting calmly on his fishing platform, waiting for the perfect gust of wind.

*Sigh...*

’He has it.’

’But I don’t.’

”Alright, alright, hahaha, I’m not in a rush. Just... when the wind picks up, be sure to pull me along.”

”I’ve been under a lot of financial pressure lately. Before, Zhuang Yingcheng raised funds within the association—a total of forty ’small goals’. He died so suddenly. The money is probably in a foreign bank, most likely in a bearer account. Getting it out will be difficult... If that money is really gone for good, I’ll have to cover at least part of the loss.”

At this point, You Shaoqiang casually mentioned the matter, watching Lin Chu’s reaction nonchalantly.

’One last test.’

Lin Chu, of course, couldn’t have known about You Shaoqiang’s ”hidden thoughts” or their previous speculations on the matter. Hearing about it now, he was stunned for a moment, then sighed with a smile.

”There’s that, too?”

”That really sucks for you.”

”Hey, that case with their family, did they find the killer?”

There was a hint of gossip in Lin Chu’s eyes.

’To be honest, this kind of drama between wealthy families is a real turn-off for me. I have no interest in it. Watching this sort of spectacle is like watching dogs fight each other.’

’My trip to Xiangjiang, and my contact with the so-called ”high society” there, all felt pretty dull.’

’It wasn’t nearly as fun as drinking and singing together in Lan Kwai Fong.’

’Of course, at a time like this, a little bit of gossip is always welcome.’

”They caught him, but he was killed on the spot. So even if there was more to the story, it’s unlikely we’ll ever know. I suspect it was the Third, but there’s no proof. We got news last night that the Third brought in a bunch of foreign capital—the Morgan Conglomerate, plus Temasek—and wants to buy out all the shares from the other family members.”

”He’d rather give it to outsiders than to a thief in the family.”

”But their family’s business is already so massive, and it’s not like it has any real tech value. It doesn’t really matter.”

You Shaoqiang shared the information he had with Lin Chu.

This kind of thing really bothered him.

The part that bothered him wasn’t that he didn’t get a piece of the action, but the repulsive nature of the act itself.

”Zhuang the Third is an idiot. A complete idiot. And he’s spineless. Not an ounce of integrity.”
