Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 432: Chapter 271: Took It Too Far

Speechless, he could only shake his head and chuckle.

’Oh well, what else can I do?’

Seeing this, You Shaoqiang smiled again. He suddenly took a liking to the receptionist—’She’s a good kid’—and extended his hand to Lin Chu. ”Haha, I’ve heard of you, and you’ve probably heard of me too. This isn’t the place to talk, though. Let’s grab a drink sometime.”

He didn’t explicitly reveal his identity, only adopting the stance that he had ”heard of” Lin Chu.

Unhurried and deliberate, taking it one step at a time.

”Hm?”

”And you are?”

Lin Chu frowned slightly, sensing that this was all a bit too contrived.

You Shaoqiang sighed inwardly when he saw Lin Chu frown.

’This is all a bit too contrived,’ he thought. ’Lin Chu is obviously a sharp guy. He probably already thinks something is off.’

”I’m... haha, You Shaoqiang. A couple of days ago, I had Zhou Luan call you about that matter. But right now I’m on vacation with my girlfriend. She’s from Spring City and has never been to Dali. She said it seemed like fun here, so I came along. Heh, but let’s not talk about business... Pretty big coincidence, huh?”

At that, his girlfriend glanced over, looking a little surprised.

’She could tell You Shaoqiang was lying. He was the one who had insisted on dragging her here, but now he was making it sound like it was her idea. Could his real purpose be to meet this... Lin Chu?’

’Who is this guy?’

’Is he that big of a deal?’

Still, since her boyfriend had said it, she wasn’t about to call him out on it. She smiled sweetly, nodded, and asked, ”So, you two know each other?”

You Shaoqiang smiled and patted her head affectionately. ”I guess I have you to thank. You just had to come to Dali, and look, I ran into a friend I’ve been dying to meet.”

”Wow! What a coincidence! So how are you going to reward me?”

”Mwah...”

The two kissed, oblivious to anyone else, in a blatant display of affection.

Lin Chu watched them, smiling wryly.

Half of the suspicion in his heart dissipated. He gave the couple a nonchalant glance, pulled out his phone, and said, ”Alright then... let’s add each other on WeChat. We can hang out when you’re free.”

’You Shaoqiang.’

’President of the United Youth Association.’

’Yeah, he’s a pretty big deal.’

’The You Family’s corporate conglomerate and the allied companies of the Unity Association... every single one is a titan of industry.’

’In terms of overall power, they’re definitely way stronger than me.’

’He’s already near the top.’

’Since we’ve run into each other by ’coincidence,’ and even though I had that unpleasant run-in with Zhuang Yingcheng, there’s no reason to take it out on this guy.’

Thinking it over, Lin Chu no longer felt that You Shaoqiang had come all this way just to meet him.

’What would he even gain from it?’

’There’s no reason for it at all.’

’I’m not important enough for that.’

’It must just be a coincidence.’

’Besides, You Shaoqiang has a great attitude. He seems like a bright, cheerful guy who speaks and acts with courtesy and tact—a lot better than Zhuang Yingcheng, at least.’

”Sure. Here, I’ll scan your code.”

”The two of us have plans this afternoon—we’re doing a lap around Erhai. If you’re free tonight, we should grab a drink.”

You Shaoqiang took out his phone and added Lin Chu on WeChat, once again trying to downplay how contrived the whole situation was.

’Just like this.’

’Maintaining this tempo is good.’

”Sure, no problem. I might not be free tonight, though; I already have plans. If you’re staying for a couple more days, how about tomorrow?”

Lin Chu added with a smile.

The receptionist, who was watching with a knowing grin, saw them exchange contact info and chimed in at the perfect moment. ”We have a self-service mini-bar tonight—199 for unlimited drinks. The three of you are welcome anytime... Now that you’re all acquainted, you’re practically friends! But Lin Chu, please don’t invite all your fans this time. We really can’t handle that many people.”

Lin Chu: ”...”

’Just shut up!’

’You really know how to drum up business, don’t you!’

’Such ’home-like’ service!’
