Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 433: Chapter 272: A Wondrous and Amusing Date

After another quick word with You Shaoqiang, Lin Chu went into the restaurant to eat. He ordered a steak and a salad, and was only halfway through when he saw Bai Weiwei walk in.

The dimly lit restaurant seemed to instantly become more brilliant.

She wore a pure white dress with a slightly plunging neckline and had on gorgeous makeup, her cherry-pink lips soft and tender... Her skin was so strikingly pale that she could even pull off the dreaded ”Barbie pink” lipstick.

The whole outfit and makeup style was definitely meant for a date.

Lin Chu’s Adam’s apple bobbed. For a moment, he was at a loss for words.

’It’s not that I’m a coward.’

’It’s just, based on our few interactions, Bai Weiwei seems to be a decent person, pretty reliable, too. I mean, when I got locked up, she stuck by me and got me out, didn’t she?’

’And it’s not like I lack the courage to turn the tables on her, even on her home turf.’

’Even if her family is a local powerhouse, wealthy and influential.’

’I can find ways to deal with all of that.’

’The deeper reason, it seems, is a peculiar worry that’s taken root in me—is a soul that has roamed free truly ready to walk the path of so-called ”pure love”?’

’On one side, freedom.’

’On the other, ”pure love” and the whole chain of attachments that comes with it.’

’It’s like how many players, the ones with at least some scruples, refuse to get involved with a girl experiencing her first relationship.’

’That’s what’s really getting to me.’

’This little, indescribable thought... this is what’s truly cowardly.’

’This must be what they mean by the boundless sea of suffering. You stand on one shore, wanting to reach the other, only to find yourself stranded in the middle of the ocean, with no land in sight.’

’A sea of suffering.’

’Or a fortress besieged.’

’Those outside want in, and those inside want out.’

”Eating, are we...”

Bai Weiwei sat down directly across from Lin Chu, propping her chin on her hands and asking with a beaming smile.

Lin Chu sniffed, offered a small smile, and put down his fork. He subconsciously reached for his cigarettes, wanting to light one up.

”No smoking. What if I want to kiss you on our date later? I have no desire to lick an ashtray.”

She picked up Lin Chu’s pack of cigarettes and lighter and tossed them into a nearby trash can.

Lin Chu: ?

He let out a soft cough, taken aback by her boldness.

He already knew she was from an ethnic minority, but her style right now was unsettling—a mixture of alluring and audacious.

”Hurry up and eat. I’m waiting for you. My makeup’s done, I brought a charger, and I even have my daily disposables ready.”

”I’m giving you the whole afternoon to win me over. Let’s see what you’ve got.”

Bai Weiwei said it nonchalantly, though the tips of her ears were slightly red. Her face, however, betrayed nothing.

She felt a little embarrassed saying the words, but she’d already rehearsed them at home several times. Now, she was just relying on muscle memory to get through it.

She had even written a ”script.”

’An ”actor” must have unwavering commitment to the role!’

Lin Chu: ...

”Are you insane?”

”I said it was canceled, but you came anyway... Look, I think you’re a nice person. It’s better if we just stay friends.”

Lin Chu said with a teasing smile.

’What is this psycho’s deal?’

’This whole approach has completely thrown me off my game.’

”Screw you!”

”Don’t give me that!”

”You know ’The most beautiful part wasn’t the rainy day, but the eaves we shared to escape it’... Actually, I went home and thought about it, and you’re not so bad. You’re tall, handsome, rich, and you even have a romantic side. Why not give it a shot? I’ve been single my whole life, after all.”

She said, raising an eyebrow in a somewhat provocative manner.

Lin Chu couldn’t even be bothered to retort. He just shook his head with a helpless smile.

”Why are you making this sound like a blind date...? That’s not what I want. I want genuine, from-the-heart affection, you get it?”

”Total turn-off. Major turn-off. Alright, you should go. Don’t interrupt my meal.”

Lin Chu said it with a smile, but he genuinely meant it, he was just being polite about it.

”How will you know if you don’t try?”

”There, there. You eat first.”

”When you’re finished, you’re coming with me.”

The smile on Bai Weiwei’s face didn’t falter. ”Sweet and charming,” she said.

Lin Chu heaved a long sigh. Seeing how insistent she was, he thought for a moment, then quickly finished his meal.

’He wanted to see what kind of game this girl was playing.’

...

After their meal, the two walked out of the restaurant one after the other, with Bai Weiwei in the lead and Lin Chu behind her, holding the dog.

”You two heading out to have some fun?”

the receptionist asked with a smile.

Bai Weiwei waved her hand and announced cheerfully, ”He asked me out on a date! And I said yes!”

Receptionist: ?

Lin Chu: ...

’Damn, she’s really going for it, huh?’

He took a deep breath, then simply smiled and nodded nonchalantly before they walked out the door together.

He was speechless.

”My car or yours?”

Bai Weiwei asked on the way to the parking lot.

”Where are we going?”

Lin Chu truly had no idea what she was up to, but the bizarre feeling in his gut was only getting stronger.

”The hospital. For a physical. Blood work, the standard panel, plus tests for HPV and HIV.”

”Physical health has to be the first step, right?”

”Don’t worry, I’ll get tested too. I’m paying.”

Bai Weiwei laughed, trying to seem casual, but her ears were still red, practically burning. ’This is so damn ridiculous,’ she thought. ’It’s like I’m tripping on wild mushrooms. Absolutely insane... but fun.’

’Besides, to be fair, this is a perfectly sound way to approach things, right?’

’If two people are going to date, how can they not get a health check first?’

Lin Chu stared at her in disbelief, his lips moving but no sound coming out. The sheer absurdity of it all struck him. ”Wait, is this... how you always do things?”

”What ’before’? There is no ’before’! I’ve never been in a relationship, I told you! Single since birth!”

”Later, I’m also going to ask you about your relationship history. Don’t worry, it’s just a question, nothing more. I promise.”
