Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 418: Chapter 266: I Just Want to Shoot That Kind of Movie

...

「Around this same time.」

A thousand miles away in Peng City, inside the Tongxin Building.

In the offices of the United Youth Association.

In front of a massive floor-to-ceiling window, You Shaoqiang was sitting with four other young men, drinking tea and chatting.

A few days ago, they had gone to Xiangjiang to trace the whereabouts of the four billion.

However, the Zhuang Family’s second and third sons, two uncles, and even Zhuang Yingcheng’s women all claimed to know nothing about the money’s whereabouts.

Every trace and clue pointed to anonymous accounts in foreign banks.

And with Zhuang Yingcheng’s death, official, higher-level powers had begun to intervene to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

Under these circumstances, the Zhuang Family, at the cost of one man’s life, seemed to have found an opportunity for a smooth transition, and they were beginning to consolidate their power under secure conditions.

This, of course, was not good news for You Shaoqiang.

It meant that the four billion was very likely gone for good.

Even if they managed to recover it from the foreign banks, they would have to pay a hefty inheritance tax, losing at least half of it.

The group had already held countless small meetings about this matter over the past few days.

But they hadn’t come up with any good solutions.

”Brother Qiang, I found a detail in the police files. Brother Zhuang previously had a run-in with a young man named Lin Chu—they even got into a fight. Their interaction started because Lin Chu wanted to join the Youth Association, but Brother Zhuang rejected him. Kang Hao was the one who made the introduction.”

”Of course, the police have already determined that Brother Zhuang’s death had nothing to do with this Lin Chu. But I’m focused on something else.”

”This Lin Chu... he spent less than a week in Xiangjiang and dropped nearly two billion on two luxury mansions. Then he spent another two and a half billion in Peng City to buy an office building, which has now been renamed the LC Group...”

”Hahaha, that’s almost four billion in total. Quite a coincidence.”

”Brother Qiang, what do you think?”

The young man named Qin Le said with a smile.

It really was quite a coincidence.

Four billion disappears on one end, and on the other, four billion is spent on assets—buying houses and an office building.

Hearing this, You Shaoqiang’s brow furrowed slightly.

’Something like that happened?’

”What’s his background?”

He hadn’t noticed any of this, but at least it was a lead. It was better than being stuck.

His father had called and chewed him out again last night, and he was in a genuinely foul mood.

If this money couldn’t be recovered, the losses wouldn’t just be financial. It could also damage their financing credibility within their entire circle in the future.

”Hard to say.”

”His background is pretty complicated. He’s a young guy who came from nothing and suddenly struck it rich. We can’t find out who’s backing him.”

”First, he started a media company, then bought a golf club. He spends money like water. The golf club that used to belong to Famous Group was bought by him for around two billion. He was also involved with that young woman, Zhou Luan, for a while.”

Hmm?

Listening to all this, You Shaoqiang took a sip of his tea and nodded.

’This... is certainly quite the story.’

’There’s definitely someone behind him.’

’And not just any small fry, either. This involves several billion in funds, and in cash!’

After a moment of thought, he asked nonchalantly, ”Why did Yingcheng get into a fight with him?”

”That, we don’t know. The two of them met in a car, got out, and started fighting right there in the underground garage.”

”I’ve analyzed it. There are two possibilities. First, the straightforward explanation: they had a conflict of interest. Second, the reverse: they fought intentionally to cover up some kind of cooperative relationship. Both are possible.”

”I was just thinking, if Brother Zhuang’s money really is in his hands, then that kid must be having the time of his life... Four billion.”

Qin Le didn’t want to take the blame, so he didn’t dare to make a definitive judgment, merely offering his thoughts.

A character like that could be considered a somebody in Peng City.

Even based on his current public assets of six or seven billion, he’s already at a level to make the Forbes list.

”I think it’s best to make contact. Try courtesy before force.”

”Even if the money is with him, we can only try to figure out a way to get it. If he denies it, it’ll be tough. If this was all part of Zhuang Yingcheng’s design, it’ll be even tougher. But I’m inclined to think that even if it was a setup, Zhuang never expected to die so suddenly.”

”And if he doesn’t have it, well, we can just make a new friend.”

Another young man said with a grin.

In this matter, the pressure on them wasn’t actually that great. Most of it was on You Shaoqiang’s shoulders.

Although the You Family hadn’t guaranteed this financing loan, given their usual style, if it really came down to it, their old man would definitely step in and give everyone a satisfactory resolution.

He was the boss, after all...

This was the price of being the one in charge.

”Alright, I’ll ask him first. Do you have his number?”

You Shaoqiang’s gaze swept over the room. After a moment’s consideration, he agreed.

”Kang Hao has it. Get it from him.”

...

Lin Chu, of course, was completely unaware of what was happening. He was jogging leisurely along the shore of Erhai, leading his small dog on a leash.

It was just after six in the evening. The sun was gentle, a light breeze was blowing, and the sunset painted a golden sheen across the water’s surface.

Perhaps because it wasn’t peak tourist season yet, there weren’t many people on the lakeside path. Only a few bicycles were seen occasionally, speeding by like the wind.

Suddenly, the phone in his pocket began to vibrate again.

Lin Chu slowed his pace. Seeing an open, grassy area ahead, he glanced at his phone and ambled over.

It was a call from Zhou Luan.

Unclipping the dog’s leash to let it play on the grass, Lin Chu sat down on a large rock and casually answered the call.
