Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 435: Chapter 272: A Wondrous and Interesting Date

The mockery was especially obvious.

Lin Chu... ’Goddammit!’

That really stung.

Still, this third-person perspective and commentary of hers was actually quite realistic. Completely on point, even.

”For someone like you, it’s either an arranged marriage with someone of a similar net worth—whether you treat each other with respect or just do your own things, it works.”

”Or, you go the sugar-daddy route. You want a home, sex, and kids. Your wife wants a life of luxury. Problem solved.”

”Of course, she might worship you because you’re the alpha monkey—strong in ability, intelligence, and physique. She might adore you, even kiss your feet... but that still seems a little different from the love you’re looking for. You probably have girls like that in your life already, right?”

Bai Weiwei analyzed the situation with the objective neutrality of someone presenting a scholarly report.

Lin Chu watched her with a burning gaze.

Indeed.

’This girl’s a genius.’

Just then, the red light turned green, and she actually made a U-turn. ”Sorry for wasting your time. Let’s head back. But it probably wasn’t too much time wasted. This is what you call cutting your losses... HAHAHA, the hospital would probably be trembling just drawing your blood. With a net worth in the tens of billions and weighing a hundred-some pounds, how much would one vial be worth? They can’t afford it, they just can’t.”

Lin Chu: ...

”Go! Make another U-turn. We’re getting that blood drawn! You’re the one who insisted on coming! I’ve fucking decided I’m into you! You are going to finish this date with me today!”

Bai Weiwei: ...

After a moment of speechlessness, she couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”Oh my, well I’m quite honored then. Hey, am I really that pretty? Hmm?”

she said with a playful arch of her eyebrow.

”Among the women I’ve met, you’re not the prettiest, but you’re not bad... This has nothing to do with looks. Maybe it’s because you’re a tease?”

Lin Chu felt increasingly at ease now, even sensing a certain clean, innocent quality to their conversation.

Of course, he also considered whether her U-turn was a ploy—a classic case of playing hard to get, some next-level push-and-pull—but after thinking it over, he concluded that it probably wasn’t.

She was very clear-headed.

”Alright, alright, stop attacking me. How am I a tease? I’m a breath of fresh air, a genius. It was just that moment under the eaves during the rain—the feeling of that specific environment—that created some kind of beautiful illusion for you.”

”To be fair, I felt it a little too.”

”That’s why we’re on this date. But you’re just too rich, man. I can’t handle it, I really can’t. If I were actually with you, I’d have to live in constant fear every day, worried that all sorts of seductive vixens out there would be throwing themselves at you. Is that any way to live?”

”If you just had a few million, or tens of millions, or even around the same as me, that would be one thing. But tens of billions... most of the rules of human society don’t even apply to you anymore.”

”Why don’t you just find one of the types I mentioned earlier? Wouldn’t you be happy then?”

Lin Chu: ”U-turn! To the hospital! Blood draw!”

Bai Weiwei smiled, but her voice was firm. ”No! We’re going back! We don’t need to draw blood. I’m sure a billionaire’s concern for his own health far exceeds mine.”

The car headed back the way it came.

Lin Chu: ”Then you owe me for the cigarettes, the lighter, and the wasted hour.”

Bai Weiwei: ...

”I can pay you back for the cigarettes and lighter, but how do I pay you back for the time? Don’t you dare suggest I pay you back *that* way. That’s inappropriate, way too much.”

”Well, you wasted my time last night, didn’t you? Did I say anything?”

she retorted, blinking her eyes and pouting slightly in a coquettish tone.

”Fine. Then we’ll skip the physical and just finish the rest of the date itinerary you designed.”

Lin Chu said, giving her a deep look.

’Might as well, since I’m already here!’

’Dammit!’

The biggest takeaway from this afternoon was the point about ”honesty.” It had been a complete wake-up call for him.

’If this doesn’t work out, then forget it. I’ll just go back to my playboy ways.’

’If it does work out, then we’ll see.’

Life has many crossroads. Often, in a single moment, a decision can affect the next several decades.

Just like this very moment.

On this shabby, broken-down road, inside a little red BMW.

It was very inconspicuous.

And yet, it felt somewhat soul-stirring.

Bai Weiwei’s gaze flickered. After a moment of thought, she smiled. ”Alright then, let’s go.”

「A dozen or so minutes later.」

She drove Lin Chu to the shore of Erhai. After parking the car in a lot, they faced a seaside park with a grove of trees ahead.

”Hold my hand.”

”Let me feel my own heartbeat.”

she said after getting out of the car.

Lin Chu: ...

’Unbelievable.’

He licked his lips, holding the dog with one arm and gently taking her hand with the other. She instinctively resisted for a moment but suppressed it with her rational mind. Her small, slender, and smooth hand was very warm right now.

Bai Weiwei closed her eyes.

Lin Chu was startled to see her long eyelashes trembling nonstop. Her face began to flush bright red, and goosebumps erupted on her exposed arms. She was clearly exceptionally... sensitive.

’Huh?’

’What’s wrong with her?’

’She’s like this just from holding hands?’

”My heart is beating fast, and it’s still accelerating.”

”It’s like I’m having a phantom limb reaction.”

”Are you some kind of male succubus?”

”Or is it because I’ve never had contact with a man before?”

After about half a minute, Bai Weiwei opened her eyes, let out a slightly ragged breath, and stared at Lin Chu, her own eyes glistening.

She pulled her hand away.

Her palm was already drenched in sweat.

Lin Chu had naturally felt it. He suddenly found the scene particularly interesting; it even sparked his desire to conquer her. Shaking his head with a little laugh, he commented with feigned casualness, ”Is it possible you just have a kidney deficiency? Your palms are so sweaty.”

Bai Weiwei glared at him. ”Get lost!”

”Ugh, you’re so annoying! The remaining hug and... uh, let’s just skip them. No need to test it out. Just holding hands gets this big of a reaction... Phew...”
