Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 429: Chapter 271: Played It Too Big

On the lawn by Erhai, Bai Weiwei sang two songs before giving up the ”stage.” She sat on a small stool, hugging her knees and smiling as she watched the simple ”party” scene.

The scene was truly simple. There was nothing but two microphones and a speaker—sponsored by her own family, it was actually her mom’s equipment for square dancing.

Other than that, there were just small stools, beer, baijiu, foreign liquor, red wine...

But they were going absolutely wild.

As a member of an ethnic minority skilled in singing and dancing, Bai Weiwei could do both, and at a high level. She would dance during gatherings with friends and family, as well as during the Torch Festival. But she had truly never seen a scene like this before, a mix of traditional and modern, with a crowd writhing about like they were at a wild outdoor rave.

For a moment, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

And...

’Lin Chu’s butt... he’s really shaking it. He’s like a big male monkey in heat.’

The comparison popped into her head, and she couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

’Perhaps this is just the vibe of Dali.’

’It doesn’t matter if you’re a corporate CEO, a business tycoon, or a top influencer with tens of millions of fans.’

”Whoa!”

”It’s raining!”

A light drizzle suddenly began to fall from the sky. Perhaps the downpour from the evening hadn’t completely exhausted all the moisture in the air.

Lin Chu felt the cool drops on his face and glanced around. The rain was a bit of a buzzkill, but... it could also liven things up.

”Anyone who wants to leave can leave!”

”Anyone who wants to stay, let’s keep the party going!”

”Let’s just pretend it’s the Water-Splashing Festival!”

Snatching the microphone, Lin Chu shouted with a hint of madness, his voice full of emotion and piercingly loud.

Bai Weiwei: ...

She gave another speechless smile.

’Young people from the big city sure know how to party.’

To be honest, at this point, she was even starting to feel a bit of admiration for Lin Chu. Setting aside his ”moral character,” at least in terms of skill, he was explosive. He was good enough to be a DJ at a club.

The rain quickly grew heavier.

It was a downpour, just like earlier that evening.

The crowd was quickly soaked.

A few young men, as if they’d gone mad, took off their shirts and ran wildly in the rain, flapping them like bird wings.

Others tilted their heads back and shouted, hands raised, letting the cold raindrops hit their faces and fall into their mouths, as if they were cosplaying a deity.

Two completely soaked girls were hugging, swapping saliva as if no one else was around.

CRACK.

BOOM.

A bright bolt of lightning tore across the night sky, meeting the water’s surface on the distant horizon.

Bai Weiwei, who was taking shelter from the rain on the steps of the B&B, watched the scene, lightly biting her lip. She suddenly felt the intense dramatic tension of the image, only regretting that she hadn’t managed to take a picture the moment the lightning struck.

’What about Lin Chu?’

The thought quietly surfaced in her mind. She focused her gaze and saw Lin Chu with an arm around a girl on each side. His hands rested on the shoulders of the two soaking-wet girls as he happily bounced on the spot like a beast that had lost its mind.

Bai Weiwei: ...

’What a beast.’

A flicker of curiosity even sparked within her. Tonight, would this top streamer with tens of millions of fans extend his demonic claws to one of his fans?

’If so, who would it be?’

She drew in a sharp breath.

’Suddenly, I feel like I’m just here for the gossip.’

’I definitely don’t have any other ideas. Agreeing to ”date” him tomorrow was just a necessary evil, a reluctant move to solve the immediate problem. It absolutely doesn’t mean anything else. A guy like him... how could I?’

Telling herself this, Bai Weiwei smiled, lifted the hem of her skirt, and got up to leave. ℯℯ𝑙.

Before she left, she was surprised to see the flashing red and blue lights of police cars in the darkness not far away. Perhaps the party was disturbing the peace, or perhaps the officers had come to disperse the crowd for safety reasons.

...

「About an hour later.」

「The interrogation room.」

Soaking wet, Lin Chu sat in the interrogation chair, licked his lips, and for a moment didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

His clothes hadn’t dried yet, clinging wetly to his body. But thanks to the alcohol, his body felt fiery hot, while his mind was exceptionally clear.

Ugh.

’We took it too far.’

’Disturbing the peace.’

’An unauthorized gathering.’

Although it wasn’t a huge deal, being called in to give a statement was standard procedure.

’A first in my life.’

’This is truly, absolutely a first in my life.’

”Name?”

”Lin Chu.”

”Age?”

”Twenty-four.”

”Place of origin?”

”Peng City, Guangdong Province.”

Of the two officers across from him, one was asking questions while the other’s fingers clacked away at a computer keyboard. Lin Chu answered truthfully, feeling an absurd urge to laugh.

’Though... this is really not the time.’

But he just wanted to laugh. Of course, he forced himself to hold it in.

’Laughing at a time like this would be pretty damn stupid.’

”I’m sorry. I was wrong. I was really wrong. As a law-abiding citizen, I failed to fulfill my due obligations. As a public figure, I originally just wanted to invite a few fans for a drink. I never expected several hundred people to show up.”

”I’m sorry for causing you trouble.”

He was wild when he wanted to be, but he also knew when to back down.

The two officers exchanged a look, both seeming rather speechless. The older one on the left rapped his knuckles hard on the table.

”Do you know how dangerous that was?!”

”It was pouring rain, with so many people, you were all drinking, and you were right by the sea! Polluting the environment is the least of it. What if someone fell into the sea? Huh? Could you bear that responsibility?”

he scolded in a stern voice.

”Yes, yes, you’re right. It’s my fault. I got carried away and didn’t manage my emotions properly.”

Just as Lin Chu was speaking, the door to the interrogation room was pushed open again, and two more officers walked in.
