Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 233: Chapter 197: I Absolutely Cannot Be a Dumbass

Liang Jieyu was stunned.

What kind of divine prophecy was this?

Lin Chu jutted his chin.

Feeling a little apprehensive, she went to open the door.

「Outside the door.」

Sure enough, a middle-aged man and a young girl were standing there.

The man looked to be in his forties, while the girl was in her early twenties.

Liang Jieyu’s first instinct was to think, ’Maybe this is someone’s father, bringing his daughter to settle a score with Lin Chu?’

She took a deep breath and managed a gentle smile. ”Hello, may I ask...”

”I’m Zhou Xuan from the Famous Group, Zhou Ming’s younger brother. I’m here to see President Lin to discuss something. Is he in?”

the man said with a gentle smile.

Lin Chu was already walking over. He glanced at them, offered a polite greeting, and invited the two inside.

Zhou Luan kept her head down like a child who had done something wrong, gently biting her lip. She would occasionally look up, her eyes filled with a complicated expression as she gazed at Lin Chu.

”I’m sorry, Uncle Lin. I’ve come to apologize.”

She suddenly bent at the waist, bowing to Lin Chu as she spoke.

But that form of address...

Lin Chu waved his hand dismissively. Ignoring her, he looked at Zhou Xuan and said coolly, ”You really didn’t have to come. I’m quite busy here.”

Zhou Xuan smiled. ”My older brother insisted. The girl is indeed spoiled, and I hope President Lin can be magnanimous. He just lectured her until she cried. Young people need time to grow up. As for her grandiose claims, just consider them childish nonsense.”

When it rains, it pours.

The company was on the verge of collapse, and now this little girl was stirring up more trouble. It truly left him feeling helpless and exasperated.

”Her grandiose claims, actually... I was rather looking forward to them. How have things been on your end recently?”

Lin Chu casually changed the subject.

Zhou Xuan’s gaze shifted slightly, and he replied with some empty platitudes.

He then asked about the situation here, and Lin Chu gave a few perfunctory answers.

Lin Chu knew his core objective: don’t let this affect the first final payment, due in three months.

After all, the Famous Group’s cash flow must be stretched to its absolute limit right now. Every bit of money was crucial.

Two hundred million was no small sum.

’From this perspective, I have some leverage over the Famous Group,’ Lin Chu thought.

”Are you still playing this afternoon?”

”I can book Court Four for you.”

After chatting with Zhou Xuan for a while, Lin Chu finally turned to Zhou Luan, who had been standing quietly to the side like a timid chick, and asked with a half-smile.

By this point, she seemed to have gotten the message.

She had quieted down.

It seemed she had really gotten a harsh scolding.

That was the good thing about young people: they were malleable.

”I’m not playing. I don’t dare to, and I don’t want to anymore. I already told my friend to cancel.”

she said softly.

Lin Chu’s brow furrowed slightly. He could sense a suppressed, simmering anger from her.

Hmm?

The situation now seemed a bit delicate.

’If that friend of hers is really as well-connected as she claims, and their relationship is solid enough, then maybe... I’ve dug a pit, not for her, but for myself?’

’Holy shit!’

’No way. I absolutely cannot be that idiot.’

”Xiaoluan, you must be quite attached to this club, aren’t you?”

His mind racing, Lin Chu asked with a wide smile, but he wasn’t looking at her. He was looking at Zhou Xuan.

Zhou Xuan chuckled. ”Yes, back when my brother acquired this place, Xiaoluan was just... ten, I think. She spent several happy years here. You could say it was like a second home to her.”

He didn’t know why Lin Chu had suddenly brought this up, but he figured that emphasizing Xiaoluan’s emotional connection might make Lin Chu a bit more understanding of her behavior.

”Oh, dear. Then it seems I’ve taken away something you love. What should I do? Apologize to you?”

Lin Chu finally turned to look at her.

Zhou Luan pursed her lips, sniffled, and turned her head away. ”No need. I wouldn’t dare.”

She still looked a little defiant.

Zhou Xuan gave a dry laugh. In his eyes, Xiaoluan was still just a child—she hadn’t even graduated from college yet. A little willfulness was understandable.

Of course, by now, Lin Chu should have forgiven her too.

After all, coming to apologize in person was a sufficient show of sincerity.

”Hey, since you’re so attached to this place, why don’t you come work here? I happen to be short-staffed.”

Lin Chu suddenly made a suggestion.

Hearing this, Zhou Xuan was momentarily stunned.

Zhou Luan was also a little surprised.

She never expected Lin Chu to say something like that.

However, the suggestion did make her heart flutter for a moment.

”Sure. In that case, you can step down and I’ll be the boss.”

she said in a joking tone, making a cheeky comment.

When Zhou Xuan heard this, his lips moved. That was such an outrageous thing to say that he almost spoke up to stop her, but he held back when he saw that President Lin didn’t seem angry.

He suddenly understood Lin Chu’s intention.

Lin Chu needed the Zhou Family’s influence to ensure a smooth transition during this period.

’But... can Xiaoluan handle it?’

For a moment, he weighed the pros and cons in his mind.

Lin Chu laughed. ”That won’t work. First, get familiar with things. You can start as an assistant. You should know Li Ziming, right? Follow him, and let him show you the ropes.”

This suggestion...

Zhou Xuan heard him out and suddenly thought it was a viable idea.

He certainly knew of Li Ziming. He was an old-timer from the Famous Group, savvy and sophisticated. His brother Zhou Ming had trusted him a great deal.

When Zhou Luan heard it, she also felt... there was no problem with it.

She knew Li Ziming, of course. He was an old-timer at the club, too.

”You’re still just trying to use me to solve this problem, right?”

”I think, on this matter, I can indeed help you.”

”My attitude earlier was indeed my fault, and I apologize to you again. But you shouldn’t have tattled to my dad. You have to apologize to me for that.”
