Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 223: Chapter 195: The Big Brother Lin Chu Awaits

Lin Chu had originally just wanted to invite a middle-aged man for a meal—a man who had gone bankrupt, considered suicide, but given up at the last minute.

He never expected, however, that this simple act would cause the group members to start clamoring to sign up, all wanting to get together for a meal.

It kind of blew up.

”@Uncle Big Beard, count me in! I’m down for dinner, or even the rooftop! Friends for life, we walk together!”

”...What are you trying to do now!”

”Don’t fucking make that kind of dark joke! What the hell!”

”I’m not kidding. I’m really at my limit. The bank is about to auction off my house.”

”Let’s do dinner, let’s do dinner. @Uncle Big Beard, what industry are you in? If it’s a fit, a brother can lend a hand.”

”Old Hu is a beast at golf, usually shoots under 80. I was wondering why I hadn’t seen you in so long. Brother, it really doesn’t have to come to this. Come on back.”

”+1 for dinner.”

Some people in the group took the opportunity to share their own sob stories, perhaps hoping for some help.

But the ”first-mover” effect was gone, and they probably weren’t in as dire a situation anyway. The crowd, with a tacit understanding, quickly derailed the topic.

People who truly want to die usually do so in silence.

Those who make a big fuss about it often don’t want to die; they just want to be seen.

At this moment.

Seeing the flood of messages, Lin Chu decided to just go for it and started a sign-up chain for the dinner.

Let’s get hyped!

The moment he posted the sign-up chain, the number of participants shot up. In just over ten minutes, there were more than sixty people, and the list was still growing.

Today’s events—the Golden Golf Club, the Old Friends Open, and the stories from a few key members—had clearly struck a chord.

How does one relieve sorrow, make friends, or celebrate?

Only by eating, drinking, and hitting on women.

”6 PM tonight, at the clubhouse’s Western restaurant. Everyone who can make it, come on by. Let’s all get together. It’s on me! The more, the merrier. The situation was unique during the grand opening, so I couldn’t invite everyone. This is a perfect chance to get to know you all.”

Lin Chu said, sounding quite magnanimous.

’After all, no matter how big the bill, I get a rebate.’

’This was my specialty, how I made my fortune. I earned my first pot of gold just by eating and drinking.’

「Half an hour later.」

The number of sign-ups broke one hundred.

It was just... absurd. Insane, even.

There were only about three hundred members in the entire group. Now, nearly a third of them had signed up. Anyone who’s ever organized a group event knows how difficult that is.

And today wasn’t even a weekend. It was... Thursday.

Huh?

’Could it really be Crazy Thursday?’

Looking at all this, a smile gradually spread across Lin Chu’s face as he sent a message to the logistics department.

Prepare the liquor!

For baijiu, get 20-year-old Moutai!

For red wine, Romanée-Conti!

For whiskey, Yamazaki 25!

Don’t you dare save me money. Let’s go all out!

’I happen to be short on cash lately.’

’An occasion like this is perfect for racking up rebates!’

...

Among the many group messages, there were also some asking questions.

”@President Lin, why haven’t I received my Golden Golf Club yet? Seeing everyone else post about it is making me so jealous. I want to post it on my social media right away!”

Lin Chu quickly replied, ”Every single one will be personally delivered by our staff, either to your company or your home. All of them will definitely be distributed within three days. Please be patient.”

But the group chat was scrolling too fast, and people kept asking. After chatting for a little while longer, Lin Chu got tired of it.

Someone even asked if they could have gemstones inlaid on their Golden Golf Club.

Lin Chu: ...

’Should I just inlay a golden skull on it and let you use it as a scepter?’

He simply handed his phone to Liang Jieyu and had her imitate his tone to reply to the various messages in the group.

The stand-in was now online.

He lay down on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and stared at the ceiling, a few different feelings stirring within him.

’I really made the right move.’

’What’s that saying again?’

’To take, one must first give.’

By three in the afternoon, all fifty Golden Golf Clubs had been delivered.

At 540,000 per club, fifty clubs with a double rebate came out to a total of 54 million.

Lin Chu thought for a moment and decided to transfer fifty million to Yang Huixian first.

’She’s probably under a lot of pressure over there. She could probably call in favors from her peers, but it’s best to owe as few of those as possible.’

’With this ”start-up capital,” she should be able to get everything rolling.’

After receiving the money,

Yang Huixian sent a very formal reply: an electronic document acknowledging the receipt of a fifty million yuan advance payment for goods.

Lin Chu: Uh.

’This little detail showed that she was quite meticulous when it came to business.’

’For someone with her work style, fronting the money yesterday was a true act of ”love.” At least, it was much better than when he had tried to borrow money from her before.’

Tsk.

...

「The get-together was at six in the evening.」

As a nearly invisible member of the group, Zhang Shuai couldn’t wait to close up his shop a little after four in the afternoon.

After some thought, he decided to bring a bottle of good liquor he’d recently acquired—a Feitian Moutai—and headed for Celebrities. Oh, wait, it was the LC Golf Club now.

When attending a big shot’s dinner, you had to show a bit of class. Besides, the price of Feitian had dropped recently, and it would most likely sell for less than what he paid for it. He was definitely taking a loss on this bottle, so... might as well drink it!

If he was going to lose money anyway, he might as well get some enjoyment out of it!

He was the group member with the nickname ”Sifang Brothers Consignment Shop.”

He drove over and quickly arrived at the venue. Not many people were there yet. He spotted Lin Chu at a glance, sitting and smoking at a table by the window near the entrance.

His eyes swept across the room again.

When he saw the busy waiters setting out the liquor, Zhang Shuai was stunned.

Holy shit!

20-year-old Moutai!

Romanée-Conti!

Yamazaki 25!

’What kind of high-level event is this?’

He suddenly felt his face flush. Just then, he was startled to see Lin Chu look his way and even get up to walk over. Bracing himself, he forced a smile.
