Reborn As Super Heiress

Two days might not be particularly long or short, but due to the uproar on the internet, Huo Sining stayed in the villa, avoiding any unnecessary trouble.

On Bai Yishan’s side, the store was closed for these few days as well. Huo Sining felt quite guilty about it, but Bai Yishan was completely unconcerned. She called Huo Sining, and after understanding the reason, couldn’t help but laugh and comfort her:

”As long as you’re okay, there’s no need to feel guilty. Business has actually been quite good lately. Because we’re preparing for a new product launch, everyone’s working hard on their design drafts, working extra hours for quite a while now. I had already planned to give them a long holiday, a company-paid trip. It’s just perfect that this issue came up now, so I approved their time off.”

After hearing Bai Yishan’s words, Huo Sining felt much better and couldn’t help but laugh: ”That’s good. They’ve worked hard all year; rewarding them is indeed necessary. Speaking of that company trip, don’t take it from the company’s accounts this time. I’ll cover the cost; let them enjoy themselves without worrying about saving money for me.”

Knowing that Huo Sining sold the diamonds she dug in Oregon for quite a lot, Bai Yishan wasn’t polite at all when she heard Huo Sining offer to cover the travel expenses, immediately agreeing:

”You’re the boss, so of course it’s on you. It’s nice this way. Let them go out and relax a bit; there’s another tough fight ahead at the new year. Speaking of which, the actor you found for the new endorsement, I’ve already arranged someone to engage with them recently, and the ad will be filmed soon. I’ll send you the footage for your review when it’s ready.”

Only then did Huo Sining remember that after New Year’s, she’d promised Xie Yuxing to work on the endorsement for Guan Yu Beauty, which indeed needed to be addressed.

”No need, just have someone handle it directly with Xie Yuxing. I won’t intervene. As long as you think the footage is good, I have no objections.”

Bai Yishan knew all too well that Huo Sining just wanted to avoid being involved, feeling both amused and relieved because she understood that Huo Sining had many things on her plate lately, making it hard for her to handle every detail.

When she established the studio, she had agreed to give Huo Sining half of the shares, worried that Huo Sining would interfere with the management due to owning half. But little did she know, after acquiring those shares, this girl not only didn’t interfere but also provided various advantages: from connections to raw jadeite materials, she greatly benefited.

Whenever she thought back on her decision, Bai Yishan couldn’t help but secretly feel grateful. Had she not decided to give Huo Sining half of the studio’s shares, it’s uncertain if it would even survive, let alone expand and become the renowned high-end Jade Company it is today.

Even her brother and sister-in-law now envy her fortune. Her sister-in-law used to look down on her, afraid she’d compete for her parents’ inheritance. Now she’s filled with regret, wishing she could join forces in establishing a jade company and grab a piece of the pie from Guan Yu Beauty Studio.

However, Bai Yishan wasn’t so foolish. When she was down and out, her brother and sister-in-law avoided her like the plague, but now that she’s successful, they come to cozy up. Bai Yishan has recognized them for what they truly are: opportunists she’s better off staying away from than having any entanglements with.

After chatting a bit more with Huo Sining, Bai Yishan was ready to hang up when she suddenly thought of something and asked: ”Is Qingqing back with you too? Is she still in the Imperial Capital?”

Huo Sining was taken aback, replying: ”Yes, she’s staying with me. The matter isn’t settled yet, and she’s waiting for Monday to see. My aunt and uncle have been calling her back, but she refused. Why?”

Bai Yishan chuckled: ”She’s still as playful as ever, it’s not much though. After your situation blew up, Yin Zeyan from Yin Yizhai saw it and came to my store, inquiring about you, and advised me to close the store temporarily for safety, fearing any trouble might arise. Thanks to his advice, I decided to give the employees leave; otherwise, who knows what could have happened.”

Huo Sining nodded: ”I understand. Senior Brother Yin is a good person and has a good relationship with Qingqing. When I return, I’ll personally visit him to express my gratitude.”

Thanks to Bai Yishan’s reminder, Huo Sining recalled witnessing Manager Lu from Yin Yizhai standing with Fujiwara Seiho at the Philadelphia Black Market auction. But when Su Qingqing called Yin Zeyan, she learned Manager Lu was working late at Yin Yizhai.

This strange occurrence lingered in the minds of both Huo Sining and Su Qingqing. Due to the multiple incidents during their days in Philadelphia, Huo Sining’s focus was solely on the matter of the two Beast Heads, neglecting to ponder the true situation of Lu Huairu, nearly forgetting it entirely.

Now reminded by Bai Yishan, Huo Sining suddenly recalled it and, after hanging up with Bai Yishan, immediately hurried to call Mr. Bai.

Receiving the call from Huo Sining, Mr. Bai was understandably surprised: ”Huo girl, why are you calling at this time? Are you back in the country? How could you cause such a huge mess?”

Apparently, her costly purchase of the two Beast Heads at the Philadelphia auction had made quite a stir domestically, even reaching someone like Mr. Bai, who’s typically absorbed in his pursuit of spiritual practice.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but curl her lips; knowing about the commotion is good. It shows the matter’s impact is significant enough so that once the situation reverses, those who jumped on the bandwagon will realize the outlandishness of their actions. The louder the backlash, the more those taking advantage will feel the sting.

”Mr. Bai, please don’t worry. Everything will be fine come Monday. I have it under control. I called you for another reason.”

Mr. Bai was puzzled, instinctively asking: ”What could you possibly want from me? It’s not that an old man has cancer and you want me to concoct a remedy, right?”

Huo Sining’s forehead broke out in drops of sweat: ”No, it’s just that I wanted to ask you if, in your Taoist traditions, there’s any technique similar to a duplication spell that can split a person, like Sun Wukong plucking a hair to create multiple clones?”
