Reborn As Super Heiress

Seeing those reporters in the lobby arguing with the hotel manager about something, Huo Sining and the others had already understood. She quickly gave Gu Xu a look and whispered, ”You take Master and the others to their rooms, I’ll be up in a bit.”

Gu Xu was stunned for a moment, then nodded immediately.

Zhou Shitao and his group naturally noticed the reporters too, so upon hearing Huo Sining’s arrangement, they became somewhat worried:

”Huo girl, we aren’t that important, but can you handle it alone? Maybe it’s better to let Gu Xu stay; he’s been through a lot and has more experience than you.”

Huo Sining laughed at this: ”No worries, I don’t intend to tangle with them. Rest assured, you go up with Gu Xu, I’ll be done here soon.”

Seeing the certainty in Huo Sining’s eyes, Zhou Shitao couldn’t persuade her further. He had to nod and follow Gu Xu into the hotel.

The hotel lobby manager was quite responsible, knowing the reporters came for investigation and interviews, so he firmly stated they couldn’t reveal guest information and even prepared to call the security to drive the reporters out.

But the reporters were not simpletons. Since they dared to come straight here, they had already fully grasped Huo Sining’s specific information, knowing she was the buyer of the two beast heads with astronomical price, and staying in this hotel!

With such accurate information, the reporters certainly didn’t want to leave so easily, hoping their rivals wouldn’t steal this big news.

So when the manager failed in reasoning and prepared to have security chase them away, some quick-witted reporters immediately ran to the front desk to request a room.

The manager was instantly speechless.

The peers noticed this, secretly praising the cunning move of the reporter, and rushed to the front desk to book rooms too.

The manager wanted to evict them because they were reporters, but by booking rooms, they became hotel guests, so the manager had no reason to drive them out.

At this moment, Gu Xu led Zhou Shitao and his group from outside directly toward the elevator.

Some sharp-eyed reporters instantly recognized Gu Xu as the husband of the mysterious Miss Huo they were searching for, and the people behind Gu Xu were clearly Huaxia people!

That reporter was immediately invigorated, naturally believing Huo Sining must be among them.

Excited, the reporter forgot about booking a room, grabbed a voice recorder, and rushed toward Gu Xu’s group, scanning the faces of the Huaxia people behind him, trying to locate the real Huo Sining.

Yet the reporter was disappointed to find elderly people, children, and young women among Gu Xu’s entourage, but not the Huo Sining they sought.

The reporter felt deflated; however, his actions of running toward Gu Xu quickly attracted the attention of colleagues at the front desk wanting to book rooms. Those savvy reporters, noticing Gu Xu and the old men and children behind him, immediately realized something and gave up on booking rooms, racing toward the elevator, with cameras and microphones aiming at Gu Xu’s group.

”Mr. Gu, did you come with Miss Huo Sining...”

”Mr. Gu, are these elder gentlemen also here to attend the Philadelphia Black Market...”

”Mr. Gu, did your wife really bid on two twelve zodiac beast heads...”

”Can you share your thoughts on why you’re willing to spend so much on two bronze artifacts...”

A bunch of reporters bombarded them with questions. Zhou Shitao seemed okay, but Su Qingqing and Yue Shuwen froze at the sight, their faces turning pale, unsure how to respond.

Just then, the elevator opened, and Gu Xu ignored the reporters, pushing Zhou Shitao and the others inside.

The reporters, not getting the information they wanted, were relentless, crowding the elevator, some even reaching to grab Zhou Shitao and Su Qingqing’s sleeves to prevent them from entering.

Gu Xu was angered by this, trying to push the reporters away, a difficult feat despite being a special forces soldier due to his overseas caution, and the reporters’ intrusiveness, nearly sticking cameras in the old men’s faces.

”Isn’t it me you want to interview? Follow me to the café across the street!”

Suddenly, a clear female voice came from the other side of the lobby, causing the reporters to stop moving and reflexively turn to where the sound came from.

In the hall, a young woman stood calmly, looking at them with a cold expression.

As the reporters recognized the woman, they were shocked because she was none other than the Huo Sining they sought.

”Huo Sining is over there!”

One reporter yelled, bringing the group to their senses, and they no longer bothered Gu Xu, rushing over to where Huo Sining was.

The elevator area suddenly cleared, no reporters were left, and Gu Xu breathed a sigh of relief, glancing at his wife, who gave him a slight nod, reassuring him. He then entered the elevator and closed the door.

Gu Xu led Zhou Shitao and the others back to their hotel rooms successfully, while Huo Sining diverted the reporters and walked out quickly without a backward glance. She didn’t explain to the reporters, heading straight across the street.

The reporters assumed Huo Sining intended to accept their interview and were thrilled, chasing behind her without suspecting any deceit.

However, when the crowd followed Huo Sining to the alley across the street, they found nobody when they turned a corner!

”Where is she?”

The reporters were baffled, thinking Huo Sining would take them to a café, but found nothing there.

Crucially, it was a dead end, surrounded by high-rise buildings. Although they were closely trailing Huo Sining, she vanished in the blink of an eye!
