Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1955: Chapter 1858: Madman or Fool

The auctioneer felt like he stopped breathing, his heart skipped a beat, and he froze for a full three seconds before banging his gavel and shouting:

”This gentleman has bid 150 million US dollars, is there anyone willing to go higher?”

The entire venue was stunned. When they heard Li Jun bid 150 million, suddenly raising the bid by 18 million, everyone’s expressions were of shock and hushed whispers.

The four people engaged in the bidding tug-of-war below were also intimidated by Li Jun’s bold move. Each of their faces turned ashen, and their eyes were full of scrutiny and anger, resentment, and reluctance when they looked at Li Jun.

However, no one dared to make a rash move. The four of them kept contemplating in their hearts, considering whether or not to raise the bid further.

But their hesitation didn’t last long. Just as Fujiwara Seiho was about to raise his number plate and try to bid again, the man standing on the balcony suddenly spoke in a careless tone, and his words completely froze Fujiwara Seiho’s expression.

The man looked at him with a half-smile, his tone seemingly indifferent:

”Oh, I forgot to mention, I came prepared with 400 million this time. After deducting the 100 million for the previous Snake Head, there are still 300 million left. If you gentlemen want to play, I don’t mind competing up to that price.”

Wow—

That remark completely stirred up the crowd.

Spending 300 million US dollars just to bid on an item valued at 10 million Beast Head, that’s simply insane!

At this moment, standing on the balcony, Li Jun in the eyes of the crowd, had completely turned into a madman throwing money around!

Even Clayflo and Semiya, standing quietly in the corner of the stage watching the development, were stunned.

Semiya’s eyes were full of excitement, she couldn’t help but say to Clayflo, ”Brother, three hundred million, we’ve hit the jackpot this time!”

However, Clayflo was not as naïve as Semiya. When he first heard Li Jun announce such an amount, he was also very surprised, but he quickly understood and lightly chuckled, saying, ”Great strategy, that Miss Huo is indeed deserving of her reputation!”

Semiya was a bit puzzled, not quite understanding what her brother meant by those words, and asked, ”Brother, what do you mean by that?”

Clayflo sighed, patted his sister’s head, and said, ”Do you really believe what that man just said about preparing 400 million?”

Semiya was taken aback: ”Why shouldn’t I believe it?”

Clayflo said, ”Before Huo Sining came to Philadelphia, she just wanted to bid on a few ordinary antiques. She didn’t know that our finale item was among the twelve zodiac animal heads, until I offered the bet and revealed that information to her. She guessed what the finale item was. In just a few days, where did she get 400 million in funds?”

Semiya was also stunned, realized her brother made sense, even though their family has countless assets, but those are estimated asset values. To extract 400 million in liquid funds in such a short time would be very difficult, let alone that obscure woman from Huaxia.

But the next second, Semiya’s expression changed: ”She didn’t raise so much money, so why did she lie? Is she just playing us?”

Clayflo sighed, ”You are easily ruffled. In terms of depth and cunning, you are really far behind Miss Huo. What she did was not to play us, but to intimidate those four competitors, so they won’t dare to make rash moves.”

The auction rules dictate that the highest bidder wins. In such a setting, no one would easily reveal their bottom line price, but Li Jun did just that. Why?

The lie and truth are intertwined. Earlier, Li Jun spent a huge sum on the Snake Head, and now he offers 150 million, which to those four people is already shocking, even to all the bidders present, Li Jun suddenly becomes a crazed purchaser willing to pay any price.

With this prelude, when Li Jun speaks of his bottom price, even if it’s a lie, at least half of those people will believe what he says wholeheartedly.

Three hundred million US dollars, that price is simply absurdly high. Those four competitors displayed various expressions, each one staring intently at Li Jun leaning against the railing on the balcony.

Li Jun also felt nervous inside, especially with so many eyes staring at him, he felt as if he was being watched to the point of disintegration.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Huo Sining standing inside the bead curtain, giving him a thumbs-up, but he only felt his legs go weak, desperately wishing to turn around and retreat back into the private box.

Suppressing the urge to turn back, Li Jun forced himself to keep his face naturally smiling in a nonchalant manner. His calm performance surprisingly intimidated quite a few people, and after a glance at each other, those four bigwigs who were enthusiastically bidding on stage sat back down.

The first to sit down was the oil prince, and the second was the Mexican drug lord.

The arms dealer from country E was also stunned by the 300 million but was still skeptical and tentatively raised his bid by one million. Just as he raised his paddle, Li Jun smiled and followed with a four million raise.

”One hundred and fifty-five million!”

The auctioneer was so excited, his gavel tapping eagerly, his face flushing red, and his gaze at Li Jun was as reverent as looking at a God of Wealth.

Well, wasn’t it obvious, the man holding the paddle on the balcony was all smiles, like the smiling Buddha, almost having the words ”fool with too much money” written on his face. Could the auctioneer not be excited, if it weren’t for the context, he might have charged over to bow and worship.

Seeing the situation, the arms dealer also realized his lack of resolve, unwilling to continue playing with this madman Li Jun, he withdrew his number plate and left without a second thought, unwilling to stay at the venue any longer.

How could he stay any longer? Without enough financial resources, was he supposed to sit there being laughed at?

Seeing the situation, Clayflo urgently whispered to Semiya beside him: ”Go quickly, take Alden and respectfully see Mr. Nikola off, don’t neglect him!”

Nikola is the arms dealer just now, although he didn’t manage to bid for any items in this black market, Clayflo didn’t dare underestimate him. Seeing Nikola leaving early, he immediately instructed his sister to see the guest off.
