Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1433: Chapter 1417: Uncle Feng

The so-called Porcelain Village is actually a black workshop for high imitation production. It just became a legal workshop over time due to its large scale and local protection.

In fact, most of the porcelain produced here are imitations of official kilns or famous items. From Ru Kiln, Jun Kiln, Ding Kiln to Yuan Blue and White enamel, there’s nothing these people can’t create.

Of course, the skill level of these high imitations varies. The items made by ordinary artisans can only fool beginners or laypeople, so naturally, the prices won’t be high.

However, if the objects are produced using advanced aging techniques like Zhong Fang, to the point where no traces of aging can be seen and they can pass off as the real thing, then the prices would naturally be much higher.

Just like the Guiguzi Descends the Mountain Yuan Blue and White Porcelain that Li Jun brought out a while ago. Everyone knows the authentic piece was auctioned overseas, and the ones on the market are all counterfeits. However, because of their high fidelity, there’s an astonishing market demand for these high imitation Guiguzi Descends the Mountain Yuan Blue and White Porcelains. If the craftsmanship is exquisite, a counterfeit can sell for over a hundred thousand, with plenty of buyers eager to purchase.

However, there are also some who knowingly use these counterfeits to deceive others.

Some artisans create items with very precise shapes, decorations, and glazes, even adding soil infusions on the base, removing the glossy sheen, or using chemicals to simulate age detection.

When such items are sold, everyone tacitly understands what the buyers intend to do with them.

Many of the swapped artifacts from the Taicheng Museum and the H Museum also mostly originate from Changnan. Here, numerous uniquely skilled artisans gather, capable of creating anything with their hands.

Thus, after listening to Oil Rat’s introduction of the Porcelain Village, Huo Sining felt a slight excitement rising in her heart. She thought that this time, Oil Rat might have really brought them to the right place, and this Old Mr. Zhong might be hiding in this village.

As the car entered the village, it quickly attracted attention, probably because of the unfamiliar license plate. Huo Sining didn’t pay much heed, and the car stopped under an old camphor tree in front of an old courtyard.

”This is the place where I made the switch back then.” Saying this, Oil Rat led a few people out of the car, heading towards the old courtyard.

After knocking on the door, a moment later, a rather honest-looking middle-aged man opened it, glanced at Oil Rat, and asked, ”Who are you looking for?”

Oil Rat smiled and said, ”Old Feng, it’s me, I’m You Laoshu.”

The middle-aged man paused, trying to recall who You Laoshu was, then suddenly realizing, he grinned and said, ”Oh, it’s you. It’s been over a year, you’ve gotten skinnier, almost didn’t recognize you. So, you are...?”

Old Feng glanced at the people standing behind Oil Rat, his eyes showing a hint of wariness and inquiry.

Oil Rat laughed and said, ”These are customers from the north, wanting to see Uncle Feng’s goods. They’re all insiders, so I thought I’d bring them to have a look. As an old acquaintance doing business with Uncle Feng, bringing a few people shouldn’t be breaking any rules, right?”

The middle-aged man glanced at Huo Sining and Gu Xu, then nodded and said, ”Come on in, Uncle Feng is having tea. I’ll go call him.”

He led Huo Sining and the others to sit in the stone pavilion of the courtyard, then turned and went into the house.

Huo Sining and Gu Xu discreetly observed the house. It was a two-story building with an air of antiquity, retaining many wooden carved windows and garden-style architectural features.

Beside the stone pavilion was a pond of green water, with jagged rocks and a winding corridor, blending the inside and outside scenery seamlessly, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.

It seemed the owner of this house had quite a refined taste.

The house was connected to the front yard by a winding corridor. Huo Sining couldn’t tell how big the back house was, but from the few windows she could see, she estimated the area to be at least over 200 square meters, indicating the house was quite large.

On the other side of the courtyard, Huo Sining noticed a tidy storage room with its door open, revealing dozens of bags. One of the bags was opened, and from its contents, she deduced they were the kaolin clay used for making porcelain.

While Huo Sining was examining the house, an elderly gentleman walked out from the corridor, holding a small, exquisite purple clay teapot. Despite his gray hair, the old man looked spirited and robust.

Seeing the old man emerge, Oil Rat laughed and approached, ”Uncle Feng, I’ve brought a few friends from the Magic Capital to pay you a visit.”

The old man looked at Oil Rat and said, ”Are you working as a broker now? Gave up your Luoyang Shovel, did you?”

Feeling the old man’s gaze, Oil Rat felt uneasy. He brought these people over, not genuinely intending to see the goods, so he couldn’t help but glance back at Huo Sining and Gu Xu.

Not wanting to raise suspicion, Huo Sining smiled and followed Oil Rat’s lead, ”Master Feng, hello. I hope you don’t mind our sudden visit. We’ve heard a lot about your remarkable skills and came a long way to learn from you. If we do anything improper, I apologize in advance.”

Perhaps because Huo Sining’s words were quite thoughtful, Master Feng nodded, took a sip of tea, and said, ”I’ve retired these past few years, making fewer items. If you’re interested, Feng Gang recently made a few pieces.”

Feng Gang was the middle-aged man who opened the door for them earlier.

Upon hearing this, Oil Rat quickly glanced at Huo Sining.

Huo Sining understood the implication in Master Feng’s words. The old gentleman seemed to look down on her and Gu Xu for being young, thinking that even if Feng Gang’s craftsmanship wasn’t up to par, it was enough to fool these two young ones.

Oil Rat knew that both Huo Sining and Gu Xu worked for the government. Bringing government people to Master Feng was risky, and now, seeing Master Feng’s indifference made him even more anxious, afraid of upsetting Huo Sining. He quickly interjected:

”Uncle Feng, don’t be fooled by her young age. She’s got quite the discerning eye. I remember when I visited you before, you had a few vintage items. Why not take them out...”
