Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1421: Chapter 1406: Yun Xu

Realizing these things, Huo Sining felt as if a weight had been lifted, becoming completely transparent, and her heart followed in lightness.

She smiled faintly, took the Jade Clean Bottle shard handed over by the monk, and respectfully bowed, sincerely saying, ”Master, thank you very much for your guidance.”

The monk shook his head with a smile, ”Amitabha, right and wrong are indifferent, only by learning to let go can one truly possess. Benefactor need not thank this old monk, you should thank yourself. Good and evil, becoming Buddha or falling into demonic ways, is just a thought away; it’s the karma and destiny of the benefactor.”

Huo Sining seemed to understand but not quite, knowing that enlightenment in Zen and Dao must come with chance, and it’s not something to grasp immediately; she decided to set it aside for now.

”Master, I truly didn’t mean any offense just now, but I...”

Huo Sining wanted to explain, but before she could finish, the old monk interrupted her.

”A lone lost soul, benefactor need not mind. Now that the wisdom within the pearl has merged with you, and after today’s enlightenment, it will no longer interfere with your life, so you need not worry.”

What kind of lost soul, what kind of enlightenment, Huo Sining seemed to grasp faintly, looked at the Jade Clean Bottle shard in her hand, and couldn’t resist her curiosity regarding the Flying Apsaras Mural on the nearby wall, asking:

”Master, forgive my ignorance, but may I ask, do you have some grudge with the Jiaoren clan, why did she lose her composure and attack upon seeing you?”

Upon hearing this, a glimmer of light flashed in the monk’s eyes, but he was cautious about the question Huo Sining posed:

”Amitabha, benefactor, matters of the world are inherently about the cycle of cause and effect, and within this the Buddhist Law has its destiny. When it’s time for you to know, you will naturally understand, the divine mechanism is unspeakable.”

After saying this, the monk had a mysterious smile on his face, turned, sat back on his mat, and continued chanting his scriptures and knocking his wooden fish.

Huo Sining listened in a daze, slowly holding Qibao as they wandered out of the side hall, standing in the courtyard in quiet contemplation for a long time before unconsciously making her way to the front hall.

Upon leaving the temple gates, she was startled to realize she had forgotten to ask the monk’s Dharma name.

Huo Sining instinctively turned around, intending to go back and ask the old monk, but to her surprise, she could no longer find the road she came from, nor could she see the house in the rear courtyard.

Feeling bewildered inside, Huo Sining suddenly saw the young monk with acne on his face who had earlier guided her.

Huo Sining was overjoyed and hurriedly approached, calling out, ”Little Master, could you please—”

Before she could finish, the young monk put his hands together respectfully and handed Huo Sining a slip of paper:

”Lady benefactor, my master asked me to give this to you, and he also asked me to convey a message to you.”

Huo Sining paused, forgetting what she wanted to ask, took the paper from the young monk’s hand: ”What message?”

”My master said, ’With one thought, achieve purity, let the heart bloom like a lotus, remember, before attaining Buddhahood, first cultivate good karma.’”

Before attaining Buddhahood, first cultivate good karma? A flash of realization crossed Huo Sining’s mind, as if she understood, yet seemed to grasp nothing, seeing the monk turning to depart, she suddenly realized, instinctively calling out to the young monk, ”Little Master, may I ask what your master’s Dharma name is?”

The young monk paused, turned back with a silly smile at Huo Sining and said, ”My master is Miaoshan.”

After returning from the temple, Huo Sining felt utterly exhausted, hurriedly ate a few bites of dinner, and went upstairs to sleep.

At night, she wandered back and forth through several layers of dreams, finally dreaming of herself turning from a small shark into a merfolk with a human body and fish tail, secretly swimming back to the shore, sneaking back to that Taoist Temple at night, seeing from afar a graceful Taoist practicing the Daoism immortal art in the courtyard, hiding in the bushes not daring to move.

Later, other Taoists passed by, shouting to the Taoist in the courtyard, ”Yun Xu, you’re practicing again, with such diligence, you’ll outshine us senior brothers, I reckon the master will scold us for being dull and lazy again tomorrow!”

Upon hearing this, the Taoist suddenly looked up, raised his eyebrows at the other Taoists, turned his gaze quickly, and Huo Sining, hiding in the bushes, just happened to see the Taoist’s full face.

A rugged yet handsome face, with brows as sharp as swords and eyes like stars, the Taoist’s features overlapped completely with the face she was most familiar with.

Huo Sining’s heart skipped a beat, her body trembled, inadvertently making a rustling sound.

Realizing the danger, Huo Sining was preparing to flee when the long sword had already sliced through the air towards her location, accompanied by a shout: ”Who’s there?”

With sleeves billowing, the youth in a white robe had already approached, Huo Sining looked up in fright, their eyes met, and they were speechless.

The white-robed Taoist gazed at the person before him, his eyes widening in disbelief, looking at Huo Sining’s face, then at the pendant on her neck, suddenly seeming to think of something, his lips quivering, reaching out a hand towards Huo Sining’s cold cheek, trembling as he asked: ”You...are you Wei Yang?”

Staring at the face that was identical to Gu Xu’s, Huo Sining’s mind was in turmoil.

What Taoist, what Wei Yang, who was she, why was she here?

At that moment, Huo Sining suddenly felt layers of golden light appear above her head, Buddhist chants rising all around, echoing in her ears.

”All things in the world have their destined paths; since you seek to cleanse delusions, you must remember, formlessness is selfless, forms come from the heart, all worldly things are but illusions, if the heart remains undisturbed, all things are void...”

The relentless chanting made Huo Sining feel as if her mind was about to explode, her heart pounding like a drum, her entire heart in her throat, unable to resist, she tightly shut her eyes, unconsciously letting out a scream.

”Ah—”

”Awake, awake, Ningning is awake!”

A familiar voice suddenly came from beside her, Huo Sining puzzled, opened her eyes, and saw Su Qingqing looking at her with a face full of surprise.

”Qingqing, why are you here?” Huo Sining asked in bewilderment.

Su Qingqing, a bit peeved, helped Huo Sining sit up: ”You say, you’ve been sleeping for three days, if you didn’t wake up, I was about to call Gu Xu, what happened to you, sleeping so long? I even got a family doctor for you, and that quack couldn’t find anything wrong, just said you were overly tired, sleeping too deeply, isn’t that ridiculous?”

”I’m really fine, no need for alarm.”

Huo Sining was also greatly surprised and puzzled by Su Qingqing saying she had slept for three days, but she was soon pleasantly surprised to find that after this deep sleep, the Spiritual Energy that was exhausted within the temple had completely returned, and she felt full of energy, with no discomfort at all.
