Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1431: Chapter 1416: Urging Marriage

Li Jun also thought that the person who helped the cargo ship return to the country was a man.

Because Huo Sining had previously called him to inform him that she had a senior brother who was influential in that area of the high seas, so Li Jun naturally assumed that the person helping was Huo Sining’s senior brother.

Huo Sining didn’t explain and just let Li Jun misunderstand, she was happy to take it easy.

However, after returning, she still edited the video, cutting out the scenes where she appeared, and then sent this edited video, which had the statements of the Country F patrolmen, to Li Jun’s email. She handed another copy directly to Chief Lu.

Of course, Huo Sining knew this was a hot potato, and since Li Jun’s people had taken over those patrolmen, she didn’t plan to get involved with how they would be dealt with. However, if Country F wanted to use this incident against Huaxia Country, this video would serve as evidence to hit back. Naturally, Huo Sining wouldn’t keep it to herself; handing it over to Chief Lu was the best way to handle it. With this video, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would have a potent weapon and would certainly be invincible in the upcoming negotiations.

The medicinal materials that sank to the seabed were retrieved, but Huo Sining was not in a hurry to contact Bai Guoming.

Normally, such a large amount of medicinal materials couldn’t be transported back in just a few days. If Huo Sining quickly told Bai Guoming that she had already retrieved the items, not only would she not receive his gratitude, but it might have the opposite effect.

Knowing Bai Guoming’s character, he might suspect her, thinking that Huo Sining either tracked him beforehand or set him up.

Huo Sining wouldn’t do anything thankless, so with this batch of medicinal materials, she wouldn’t make it easy for him and would first let Bai Guoming worry for a while.

The impounded ship full of Jadeite Raw Stones successfully returned to her possession. Li Jun did keep his word; even though Huo Sining didn’t meet with Li Jun’s people for the handover, Li Jun understood that Huo Sining had significantly contributed to this. So, upon receiving the cargo ship back at port, and the cargo being handed over smoothly, he transferred ten million US Dollars to Huo Sining right away.

Ten million is, of course, much less than the thirty million wanted by those Country F patrolmen, but as a commission, it’s not a small amount either.

Li Jun seemed quite generous and straightforward, indicating that he was someone capable of big achievements. His decisiveness made Huo Sining somewhat understand why Miss Yue and Mr. Huang were willing to follow such a young newcomer as advisors. Even Huo Sining had a good impression of him; if there were no conflicts of interest, it would be nice to make friends.

Of course, Huo Sining also knew that the batch of goods on Li Jun’s cargo ship was of good quality. Huo Sining glanced over those raw stones and found many could potentially yield High Jade materials. If he just found an experienced Stone Solver Master to cut some windows into those materials and sell them as half-gambling raw materials, those goods would at least earn him a return.

So Huo Sining didn’t hesitate; whatever Li Jun gave her, she accepted it all.

If it’s free, why not take it? Who would complain about having too much money?

Not long after returning from the Nan Sea trip, Huo Sining received a call from Zhou Shitao, who excitedly said over the phone:

”That Oil Rat confessed; he admitted he knows Old Mr. Zhong and agreed to take our people over. However, this person isn’t quite honest, claiming Old Mr. Zhong’s place is quite special, and outsiders can’t enter without an introduction from someone familiar.”

Huo Sining was taken aback: ”Then let him lead the way.”

Zhou Shitao also thought this was the best approach but was a bit worried: ”This Oil Rat has been in this business for many years, and I think he still isn’t very honest. I fear that during the journey, something might happen if we let him lead.”

Huo Sining laughed and said: ”What could go wrong? Just send someone to keep an eye on him. Master Lu probably has plenty of capable people, right? You think a big living person like this can get away? If you’re really worried, hand him over to me, and I’ll go with him to make sure he doesn’t escape.”

Zhou Shitao laughed at Huo Sining’s words: ”You little girl, what kind of idea have you come up with this time? Nevermind, you’re always so clever and quirky, I won’t ask anymore. Let’s do it this way; I’ll leave this matter to you. As for who to send to keep an eye on him, I think we should send that kid from the Gu Family. You two partner up; I’m being kind by giving you two some time together. How about that?”

Listening to Zhou Shitao’s teasing tone, Huo Sining found it amusing and thought that the old man was indeed mischievous, even teasing her and Gu Xu: ”Aren’t you worried that we might get so caught up in dating that we mess things up?”

Zhou Shitao couldn’t help but chide her: ”If you and that kid from the Gu Family could mess this up, how could you still be holding back? The kid from the Gu Family is really oblivious; how old is he now and still not caring about finding a wife or proposing? Even I, this old man, am anxious for you two!”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh out loud: ”Alright, alright, you don’t need to nag me. I’m only twenty; is there any need to rush? Are you already trying to rush me into marriage and marry off your apprentice to someone else so quickly?”

Zhou Shitao immediately gave a chuckle and said: ”What? This master can’t worry about your life’s important matters? How is it marrying you off to someone else? Even if you marry, you’d still be my disciple, and even if Old Man Gu isn’t pleased, what can he do to me?”

Huo Sining stifled a laugh: ”Yes, yes, yes, you’ll always be my master. If there’s really a wedding, you’ll definitely be in the best seat. But, if you’re so eager to marry me off, have you already prepared the dowry?”

Zhou Shitao paused upon hearing this, blowing his beard and glaring: ”You little girl, you’re becoming more of a money-grubber! You’ve got so many treasures and a lot of money at hand, and you’re still thinking about the dowry your master will prepare? That’s outrageous!”

After joking with her master for a while, Zhou Shitao suddenly remembered something and asked: ”By the way, have you got the land for your private museum approved yet?”

Hearing Zhou Shitao asking about serious business, Huo Sining composed her expression a bit: ”It’s approved, and construction has already started. I expect the museum will be built soon. I also had Gu Xu help me find some retired soldiers and set up a security company. They’re currently in training, so once the museum is done, they’ll be able to step right into their roles.”

Zhou Shitao nodded: ”That’s good; you’re someone with ideas. I’ve always said that with your ability, you’re bound to surpass us old folks one day. But you must remember that haste makes waste; the future is long, and every step now must be taken steadily, without rushing.”
