Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1405: Chapter 1390: He Is My Father

Nonetheless, even though this Oil Rat is a genius, being employed by Fujiwara Seiho to continually loot Huaxia’s ancient tombs is truly reckless and aiding the villain.

Of course, this time he met Huo Sining, which is considered extremely unlucky, as he was zapped a few times by Huo Sining’s stun baton. He probably won’t come to his senses for a while. By the time the smoke clears, he’ll likely be unable to escape justice.

Huo Sining wasn’t concerned about the fate of the Oil Rat and Liang Ruicheng; her gaze fell on Mr. Huang and Miss Yue, who had followed her out. She smirked slightly:

“What’s going on here? I think you should tell me the whole story. Why did you go into the ancient tomb, and why did you clash with Fujiwara Seiho?”

Miss Yue’s face looked a bit awkward, but Mr. Huang was calm, even scanning Huo Sining’s face with an oddly scrutinizing gaze, eventually responding coldly and irrelevantly:

“Miss Huo, you should ask Mr. Python about this matter.”

Huo Sining was surprised to hear this and instinctively looked at Mr. Huang.

Mr. Huang spoke openly, “We received a message from Mr. Python saying there might be something we were looking for inside the ancient tomb, so we came. Unexpectedly, after entering with Mr. Python, we clashed with those Dongyang ghosts. Mr. Python quickly snatched the item from the stone coffin; the Dongyang people were also searching for it. The standoff led to a shot fired at your father, and then you arrived.”

Huo Sining furrowed her brows, “What exactly is that item? Why is Mr. Python, you, Miss Yue, and even Fujiwara Seiho all looking for it? Is it that important?”

Mr. Huang shrugged, “We weren’t searching for anything specific. Huaxia’s ancient tombs hide countless secrets. We were merely curious, hoping to find something interesting. The stone coffin wasn’t opened by us, and we don’t know what the Dongyang ghosts were looking for. Mr. Python snatching the item was just to prevent the Dongyang ghosts from getting it.”

Mr. Huang explained sincerely, but Huo Sining could tell he was being insincere. She knew she wouldn’t get more answers by pressing further, so she simply nodded and stopped asking.

At that moment, Huo Sining received a call from Su Qingqing. Over the phone, Su Qingqing anxiously asked, “Ningning, where are you? Why aren’t you in your room this late?”

Huo Sining was taken aback and felt a bit guilty, “Ah, well, Qibao suddenly said he had a stomachache, so I took him to the hospital to check. We’re on the way back. What’s wrong?”

Su Qingqing had been to Huo Sining’s room and hadn’t seen Qibao, so she believed her, getting frantic, “There’s been an incident at the ancient tomb; someone sneaked in. Professor Xie is enraged and has rushed to the reservoir. I heard the stone coffin was opened. You should come back immediately!”

Huo Sining feigned surprise, “What? How could this happen?”

Su Qingqing didn’t suspect anything, “I don’t know either. Experts are heading to the tomb now. The Cultural Relics Bureau was supposed to dispatch a few SWAT teams tomorrow, but now they’re on their way. It’s said people are fleeing from the tomb, causing outrage at the top. All routes in and out of the city are on lockdown, with toll stations doing checks. Haven’t you noticed?”

Huo Sining replied nonchalantly, “No, I didn’t really pay attention when I came. You go ahead with Professor Xie and them; I’ll be there soon.”

With that, Huo Sining hung up the phone.

Since it was nighttime, the surroundings were very quiet. Miss Yue and Mr. Huang standing nearby had heard Su Qingqing’s phone conversation, exchanging worried glances.

Huo Sining glanced at them and said, “You should leave. When returning to the city, try to avoid the patrol, or you might run into big trouble.”

Miss Yue didn’t look relieved, nervously asking Huo Sining, “Miss Huo, could you please hand Mr. Python over to us? We need to get him to a city hospital quickly…”

Before Miss Yue could finish, Huo Sining interrupted her, “You and Mr. Huang should leave immediately. Mr. Python is my responsibility. Besides, he was shot and can’t leave with you. If anyone notices something, and the patrol stops you, you might not be able to leave!”

“But Mr. Python can’t endure the wound for long…”

Miss Yue wanted to persist, but Huo Sining suddenly smiled at her, “He’s my father!”

Miss Yue was stunned by this, and even the silently observing Mr. Huang raised his head in surprise, looking at Huo Sining.

“I won’t let him die. Just leave, and we’ll talk once things calm down. My father’s injury is not your concern!”

Huo Sining’s gaze was serious and focused, making Miss Yue realize she was not joking. She couldn’t say anything to refuse.

Mr. Huang looked deeply at Huo Sining, took Miss Yue, and left. They soon disappeared into the night.

When Huo Sining reached the reservoir, it was crowded with SWAT officers who had set up lights, illuminating the ancient tomb as bright as day. As Huo Sining jumped down, a SWAT officer pointed a gun in alert and sternly warned, “No unauthorized personnel allowed!”

Huo Sining quickly showed her work ID and called Ji Kun inside, who came out to escort her in.

Feeling a bit helpless, Huo Sining thought these people were just doing damage control. Fujiwara Seiho and the Oil Rat had entered the tomb, and the damage was done. Sounding an alert now seemed pointless.

Following Ji Kun into the tomb again, there were several experts along with the quiet guards on duty earlier. Professor Xie was in a fury:

“Look at this! These Tomb Robbers have dug a tunnel overnight and come in. Their brazenness is outrageous! If these people aren’t dealt with, do they think we’re pushovers?”

Inside, Huo Sining hadn’t paid much attention before. Now she saw not only the open stone coffin but also damaged ceramic items in the burial zone, with shards left on the ground. No wonder Professor Xie was livid.
