Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 117: Chapter 109: The Battlefield Is Under My Command!

There was no shadow of the bone whip, but an invisible wave appeared in the air.

Before the wave could reach him, Su Huan fell backwards without any warning, bending right over the railing and falling down.

”Bang!”

A heavy metallic impact sounded from the platform.

He Jie glanced at the place where Su Huan had been standing, his eyelid twitching, only to see a row of walnut-sized dents on the metal floor, the deepest ones at the tail, getting shallower as they got closer to the Slaughterer.

This power would have cut him in half if he were hit.

With Su Huan no longer holding him back, the Slaughterer displayed incredible agility that seemed incompatible with his massive body, dodging five or six bullets from He Jie on the narrow platform!

Even the lv2 trajectory correction couldn’t catch its movement.

Everything happened in an instant.

The light machine gun in Lao San’s hand and the assault rifle in Lao Er’s were a step too slow, failing to form an effective fire net.

Watching the Slaughterer charge forward, He Jie gritted his teeth, jumped more than four meters with an eighty-pound anti-aircraft machine gun, landing on a nearby conveyor belt, and shouted back.

”What the hell are you waiting for, run!”

The three brothers and Xiaozhao belatedly started to flee.

But the Slaughterer already had its eyes on them and was poised to attack, suddenly turning its body to forty-five degrees down the platform, where Su Huan was kneeling on one knee, the muzzle of his 1.8-meter electromagnetic sniper rifle glowing faintly blue.

A piercingly sharp sound suddenly erupted, ruffling his hair.

Brighter than the muzzle was the eye sparkled with electric arcs.

”Roar—”

Feeling the life-and-death crisis, the Slaughterer’s head in its chest let out a horrifying roar, twisting its entire body desperately.

In an instant, the shoulder armor over the right shoulder shattered silently.

Because Su Huan hadn’t added an arc to the bullet, without that shining blue light, no one except He Jie noticed this detail.

Su Huan sighed inwardly but wasn’t surprised.

No matter if they are zombies or Evolution Beasts, it’s hard to take them down with cunning once they reach Tier Two. Although their bodies can’t withstand gunfire, their inexplicable crisis sensing and neural reaction are enough to evade most conventional weapons.

However, this shot gave Lao San and the others time to escape, as they quickly converged toward Su Huan.

He Jie ran forward with long strides, each step heavy and powerful, covering tens of meters in the complex storage area in just two or three seconds.

Su Huan slung the sniper rifle onto his back and swiftly followed. Though his physique wasn’t as strong as He Jie’s, his choice of escape routes and landing points was exceptionally precise, as if he had run through this space countless times, needing hardly any deliberation as he kept pace with He Jie with agile strides.

Xiaozhao and the others ran much slower, but fortunately, Su Huan and He Jie had fully attracted the enemy’s attention.

The Slaughterer didn’t have time to bother with them.

”Can you hold him off?”

Su Huan shouted to He Jie, who was running with a gun in one hand.

”With what, my head?” He Jie yelled back, exasperated.

”Su Huan, you have four ordinary zombies directly ahead, and two Tier One Night Demons are approaching,” Yu Jing’s calm voice came through the broadcast.

Su Huan licked his upper palate, ”One each, don’t get killed.”

With that, he stepped onto the nearby cargo, bypassing the four zombies below, the electric arc in his hand gathering.

With a raise of his hand, the electric spear flew through a forty-meter zigzag path.

It struck a Night Demon directly.

He Jie’s approach was far more brutal; faced with the four lunging ordinary zombies, he showed no intention of dodging, charging straight at them with the anti-aircraft machine gun.

”Bang, bang, bang...”

The four zombies flew back like bowling pins, embedded into the surrounding racks.

”Tear——”

He Jie ripped off his military green short-sleeve, wiped all the blood off his face, lifted the anti-aircraft machine gun with both hands, and grinned, pressing the trigger.

Dense chest hair quivered slightly, a metal rain tearing through the shelves, following the agile Night Demon through the racks, raising a torrent of blood.

The iron frames groaned, various sundries clattering down.

The entire storage area’s broadcasts simultaneously played different music, confusing the zombies’ senses.

But most of the zombies had already discovered the humans mixed among them, charging in with wild howls.

In an instant, the logistics center was in utter chaos.

...

Outside the main building of the logistics center, on the fourth floor of an office building.

Holding a sniper rifle, Yu Yue’s face suddenly paled, listening to the chaotic sounds within, her eyes flashing visible panic.

”There’s trouble inside, Su Huan needs help.”

”Are you going in? The space inside might not favor your skills.”

A deep voice came from behind.

Yu Yue bit her lower lip, recalling the man smilingly deflecting armor-piercing rounds from the vehicle, she resolutely declared, ”He needs our help!”

”Then we...”

Before Liang Kuan could finish his sentence, Yu Yue suddenly extended a hand to stop him, alerting, ”Zombies are coming upstairs quickly!”

”Boom!”

The moment her words ended, the double iron doors of the office burst open.

The sound of tearing fabric followed.

Liang Kuan took a step forward, raising the shield in his hand.

”Bang!”

As mightily built as he was, he trembled slightly, the tiger’s mouth splitting open.

The entire line of office desks in front of him, clear wood scraps showing where they were snapped in half.

A Tier One Slaughterer stood at the door, black corpse armor spreading from joint barbs, chest slightly open, revealing a black skull within.

Scarlet eyes greedily took in the two people in the room.

It emitted an animalistic threatening sound from its throat, ”Eat, evolve!”

Swept by this gaze, Yu Yue felt her whole body tense up as if facing a tiger in the wild, blood freezing in her veins, every cell screaming in terror but unable to react.

”Bang!”

The man, as tall as a tower, holding a metal shield, stepped heavily forward, solely shouldering the terrifying pressure of the Slaughterer, calmly saying, ”Leave this to me, you go provide support.”

Yu Yue looked at his bloodied hands, caught in inner turmoil.

”You...”

The man’s simple and calm face gradually took on a fiercer look, his body slightly crouched, broad back pulsing with his breathing.

”You, affected me.”

Four words like a heavy hammer on a drum, stirring up silent dust.

The towering figure leapt forward like a tiger, his sword-shield his razor-sharp fangs!

”Boom!”

Two gigantic figures collided with raw, primal violence, fighting ferociously.

Gritting her teeth, Yu Yue slipped out the back door silently. At this range, she couldn’t provide Liang Kuan with any assistance.

Staying here was of no use.

Listening in on the sounds throughout the logistics center with her ability while quickly going downstairs with her sniper rifle.

Continuous evolution had strengthened her physique, nimble as a rabbit.

Without seeing where her toes landed, she’d already leapt down the stairway.

Her almond-shaped eyes lowered slightly as if having made a decision.

”Lu Xiao, Jiang Rong, upon hearing my voice, stop your current tasks immediately and head towards the main building.”

”Repeating, this is an urgent order, execute immediately!”

”I am taking command of this operation!”
