Urban Martial Saint

Everyone on the scene looked at each other, all speechless. Nonsense, who would oppose such a proposal?

Seeing no one speaking, Ye Qing chuckled again and said, ”Since none of you have any objections, then it’s settled. This Vice Alliance Hierarch position will be held by Senior Fu Qingping!”

After speaking, Ye Qing turned around and bowed to Fu Qingping, saying, ”Master Ancestor, please take on the role of Vice Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance!”

Fu Qingping slowly stood up, glanced at everyone present, and said, ”Thank you very much for your support, but I’m used to a carefree life, I’m afraid I can’t fulfill such a position.”

This statement made everyone’s hearts jump wildly. Wow, it’s the best thing if Fu Qingping himself doesn’t want to be the Vice Alliance Hierarch. It’s not that they don’t support him, but that Fu Qingping himself wanted to withdraw.

Of course, although everyone was overjoyed inside, they still had to appear a bit unwilling. A few hypocritical ones even directly said, ”Senior Fu, besides you, who else is qualified for this position?”

”Senior Fu, if you take this role, our Hu Family will fully support you!”

”Fu Qingping, please don’t refuse, you are the most suitable person for this position!”

Everyone clamored, seeming so unwilling, but in fact, they all had their own plans. If Fu Qingping doesn’t take the Vice Alliance Hierarch position, then others wouldn’t be as competitive, and our hopes would be much higher.

Facing the situation, Fu Qingping sighed heavily, as if making a decision. He waved his hand, signaling everyone to stop, and then said loudly, ”Thank you all for your affection. If I don’t take the Vice Alliance Hierarch position, wouldn’t that be failing your expectations?”

Upon hearing this, everyone had the same thought: Did we go overboard? Is Fu Qingping really going to take the Vice Alliance Hierarch position? If we had known, we wouldn’t have said those things earlier.

”However, I still maintain that I am really not suitable for the Vice Alliance Hierarch position!” Fu Qingping sighed, paused for a moment, and said, ”How about this, I’ll nominate someone else for the Vice Alliance Hierarch position!”

Upon hearing this, everyone felt their hearts skip a beat. It’s probably not going to be easy to oppose someone recommended by Fu Qingping. This matter is truly troublesome now, could the Vice Alliance Hierarch position really be settled?

Before anyone could speak, Ye Qing immediately said, ”Oh, does Senior Fu have a suitable candidate to recommend?”

Fu Qingping said, ”My student Shen Tianjun, who has commanded an entire family, has experience managing alliance affairs. Let him take this position, what do you all think?”

Upon hearing this, everyone was stunned. More people were shocked by Fu Qingping’s statement—since when did Shen Tianjun become his disciple?

What they didn’t know was that in recent days, Shen Tianjun had been practicing martial arts with Fu Qingping daily and had just formally apprenticed a few days ago. Actually, Shen Tianjun is a generation younger than Fu Qingping. Moreover, Northern Fist King Li Changqing, who is contemporaneous with Shen Tianjun, learned swordsmanship from Fu Qingping in his early years. Li Changqing can be considered Fu Qingping’s disciple, which is the main reason why Ye Qing calls Fu Qingping ”Master Ancestor.”

Shen Tianjun and Li Changqing were already brothers by title. Fu Qingping can be considered Li Changqing’s master, so Shen Tianjun is naturally also counted as his junior. And, subsequently following Fu Qingping in learning martial arts then established the master-disciple relationship, which is normal. Shen Tianjun is now only seventy or eighty years old, while Fu Qingping is nearly one hundred and fifty, so Shen Tianjun calling Fu Qingping ”Master” is quite reasonable.

Of course, while everyone was shocked by this matter, most were very envious. The Battle of Mount Tai made Fu Qingping renowned worldwide, becoming one of the few beyond peerless masters of today, showing everyone the opportunity to go from peak master to beyond peerless master. Everyone wanted to follow Fu Qingping to learn martial arts in search of that sliver of chance to break through the pinnacle. Being able to be Fu Qingping’s disciple would surely mean learning more, and many people wanted to apprentice with Fu Qingping. However, Fu Qingping only took Shen Tianjun as his disciple, so how could they not be envious?

Ye Qing looked at Shen Tianjun, but inside was laughing heartily. Actually, this was the key arrangement he made today. Using the Elders Council system to consolidate power while controlling the power. Then, nominate Shen Tianjun as Vice Alliance Hierarch to manage the World Alliance. As for saying he would appoint two Vice Alliance Hierarchs, it was actually to prevent criticism. Choosing only one Vice Alliance Hierarch could inevitably lead to accusations of monopolizing power. But appointing two is different.

As a matter of fact, even if there are two Vice Alliance Hierarchs, because of the existence of the Elders Council, the power is still concentrated. In the Elders Council’s Top Ten Elders, five stand by Ye Qing’s side, fully supporting Shen Tianjun as Vice Alliance Hierarch. So, the other Vice Alliance Hierarch, whoever is selected, doesn’t matter. After all, without the Elders Council’s support, they cannot compete with Shen Tianjun.

”Senior Fu recommends Shen Tianjun—Senior Shen, I wonder if any of you have objections?” Ye Qing asked the crowd again.

This is a no-brainer, Fu Qingping himself recommends someone, and it’s Fu Qingping’s disciple, who would dare oppose? Although many people were secretly dissatisfied, they did not dare to say anything. So, the matter was settled cleanly and smoothly.

With Shen Tianjun confirmed as the Vice Alliance Hierarch, the appointment of the other Vice Alliance Hierarch became less critical, and Ye Qing did not intervene. Anyway, he controlled the Elders Council and appointed Shen Tianjun as Vice Alliance Hierarch, achieving his objectives. As for the other Vice Alliance Hierarch’s matter, he didn’t interfere, just let the crowd discuss.

However, the crowd’s discussions truly took some time. For this last Vice Alliance Hierarch position, no one was willing to give in. The Six Great Families couldn’t participate in the nomination, so they wanted to support those with good relations with them. The result was predictable—no one would submit, and eventually, the discussion almost devolved into an all-out brawl. If Fu Qingping and Shijia hadn’t been there to maintain order, the crowd might have already started fighting.

This situation made Ye Qing sigh with emotion—power is truly a desirable thing. So many peak masters, so many powerful families, vying almost to the point of fighting over a single position, showing that no matter how strong one is, the desire for power does not diminish in the slightest.

The argument dragged on without resolution, seeing it nearly reach night. Ye Qing couldn’t sit still any longer, and joined forces with his people to intervene directly in the nomination, finally pushing a lesser-known peak master to become the Vice Alliance Hierarch, settling the matter completely. With the dust settled, though the crowd was still not satisfied, they could say nothing more.

After settling the Elders Council and the two Vice Alliance Hierarchs positions, Ye Qing then kept them behind. Allowing others to leave first and leaving only Elders Council members and the two Vice Alliance Hierarchs, the group together discussed the regulations of the World Alliance.

As the saying goes, without rules, there can be no order. The Elders Council members were also quite supportive of setting up rules. So in this discussion about regulations, the group shared a common goal. Through a series of debates, they temporarily came up with some rules to restrain World Alliance members, to prevent them from causing trouble outside.

After discussing the regulations, the group dispersed. Having exhausted the whole day, Ye Qing was also quite tired, bid farewell to everyone, and left through the back door, ready to go back and sleep.

Halfway through, Ye Qing saw a chubby old man chasing him from the side. This old man looked quite honest, with two streaks of white mustache hanging on his chubby face, giving a sense of agelessness.

This old man was named Wu Xiuming, whom Ye Qing had selected as the Vice Alliance Hierarch. Wu Xiuming is the Family Head of the Wu Family, and the entire Wu Family has joined the World Alliance. However, the family’s strength is not very strong. Wu Xiuming is the only peak master among them. As for others, they can’t even find a top-level master. It can be said that in this family, there’s essentially only Wu Xiuming.

Although Wu Xiuming is a peak master, his strength is not strong and ranks as one of the weaker ones among peak masters. So within the World Alliance, he does not stand out at all. The Wu Family joined the World Alliance also to seek protection because major chaos is impending. Within the World Alliance, the Wu Family is not noticeable, even solitary peak masters do not regard the Wu Family.

This time, Wu Xiuming becoming Vice Alliance Hierarch surprised everyone. However, the Six Great Families unanimously supported this decision. Because, after debating, they knew it was impossible to appoint their own person as Vice Alliance Hierarch. In such a situation, they naturally chose someone easier to control as the Vice Alliance Hierarch. Wu Xiuming is honest and straightforward, and with the Wu Family lacking strength, such a person being Vice Alliance Hierarch is naturally easier to control, thus the Six Great Families supported it fully. This is similar to when Ye Qing became Alliance Hierarch, as he was chosen due to being easier to control.

Seeing Wu Xiuming running over, Ye Qing was surprised and asked, ”Mr. Wu, where are you heading?”

”Alliance Hierarch, I’m here to find you.” Wu Xiuming reached Ye Qing, caught his breath, and with some embarrassment on his chubby face, indeed appeared quite honest.

”Find me? What’s the matter?” Ye Qing asked, curious.

”This…” Wu Xiuming scratched his head, seemingly deciding suddenly, looked at Ye Qing, and said, ”Alliance Hierarch, I... I... I mainly wanted to thank you in person.”

”Ah?” Ye Qing was stunned, what’s this supposed to mean?

”Thank you for nominating me as Vice Alliance Hierarch!” Wu Xiuming looked at Ye Qing sincerely and said, ”Also, thank you for valuing our Wu Family!”
