Urban Martial Saint

Wanyan Second Master let out a sigh and said in a low voice, ”Didn’t I already say it just now? First have the members at the strongholds retreat and hide, and try not to let them get killed. After that, I’ll find a way to negotiate this matter with the Sword Saint Sect. The Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect wasn’t killed by us; the Sword Saint Sect is just being used by someone. I think the people of the Sword Saint Sect shouldn’t be so stupid as to willingly let themselves be used!”

A man said in a deep voice, ”The people of the Sword Saint Sect have already killed so many of us. I’m afraid talking to them won’t have much effect!”

”If we really can’t talk it out, then we can only fight.” Wanyan Second Master said in a low voice, ”The hidden masters of our family are about to come out in a batch as well; our strength isn’t necessarily weaker than theirs. Besides, we still have the Corpse Ghost Dragon as our trump card. I think the Sword Saint Sect won’t be stupid enough to clash head-on with us!”

After hearing Wanyan Second Master say this, everyone finally calmed down a little. After that, Wanyan Second Master, in his capacity as acting Family Head, sent messages to all the strongholds near Mount Tai, ordering them to immediately evacuate their strongholds and hide, and to avoid showing themselves as much as possible before receiving his further orders. As for those strongholds farther away from Mount Tai, they weren’t absolutely safe either. Wanyan Second Master repeatedly instructed the people in charge of those strongholds to pay special attention; if anything unexpected happened, they were to report it immediately, without the slightest slackening.

After arranging all these matters, the people of the Wanyan Family finally let out a breath of relief. Having all the people at the strongholds withdraw meant they would no longer be subjected to sneak attacks from the Sword Saint Sect, and the losses could be reduced. However, for the Wanyan Family, it also basically meant that these strongholds were as good as gone, and they would lose quite a bit of operational capacity.

Once everything was handled, they did not linger at this nightclub; instead, while no one was paying attention, they quietly left. Since everyone at this stronghold had already been killed, it would be extremely unwise for them to show themselves again. They simply ignored the people here and tried to play this matter down as much as possible, so as not to draw others’ attention to the Wanyan Family.

After instructing his subordinates over at Mount Tai to track down the whereabouts of The Immortal Lord, Wanyan Second Master led his brothers directly toward the Northern Desert. The Wanyan Family’s Headquarters was still at the Northern Desolate Wanyan Manor, and the Corpse Ghost Dragon was also currently in the manor. The Corpse Ghost Dragon’s strength had not yet fully recovered and was at a critical stage of recovery; nothing could be allowed to go wrong.

On the way back, Wanyan Second Master also took the opportunity to ask about what had happened with Wanyan Hongsheng in Shenchuan City; to this moment they still didn’t know what had taken place over there.

After they arrived at Mount Tai, Wanyan Second Master led several members of the Wanyan Family to hide in that concealed Cave halfway up the mountain. Their original plan had been to wait for The Immortal Lord to kill Fu Qingping, then let The Immortal Lord throw the situation into chaos, thereby intimidating the heroes of the world and bringing some of them under the Wanyan Family’s banner. So while they were in that Cave, they were extremely cautious; they didn’t dare turn on their cell phones or the like, had no contact with the outside world at all, and naturally knew nothing of what had happened in Shenchuan City.

Wanyan Hongsheng, too, had flown to Mount Tai after Ye Qing and the others left Shenchuan City. However, he had gone to Wuhui City first, and had just arrived when he received news that Fu Qingping had defeated The Immortal Lord. This news was like a thunderbolt out of a clear sky for Wanyan Hongsheng; he didn’t dare go to Mount Tai anymore and instead rushed straight to the stronghold in Wuhui City, intending to contact Wanyan Second Master there. Unexpectedly, as soon as he arrived at this stronghold, he discovered that all the members had been slaughtered, and then he ran into Wanyan Second Master and the others.

Now, sitting in the car, Wanyan Hongsheng finally had time to recount everything that had happened in Shenchuan City to Wanyan Second Master from beginning to end. In particular, he described how the Seventh Elder had lured them to the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, which led to Old Sixth Wan Yan dying there. Of course, when he spoke of this, he shifted all the blame onto the Seventh Elder, claiming the Seventh Elder had deliberately set them up and used them. He even pushed the responsibility for Old Sixth Wan Yan’s death onto the Seventh Elder as well. After all, Old Sixth Wan Yan was already dead; whatever he said now would stand. Although many people at the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance had seen with their own eyes that he killed Old Sixth Wan Yan, would the Wanyan Family believe what those people from the Seven Rudders said?

With this mindset, Wanyan Hongsheng shifted nearly all responsibility onto the Seventh Elder. After hearing him out, everyone from the Wanyan Family sitting in the car was furious. One of them slammed a fist hard into the car body and shouted angrily, ”Too damn despicable, that Lao Qi actually did something like this. He’d better not let me run into him, or I’ll personally kill him!”

”Lao Qi really is something. Last time at the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, everything was for the family’s thousand-year plan; how could he bear a grudge over that?” A man who had a slightly better relationship with the Seventh Elder shook his head and sighed. ”In fact, everyone felt they owed Lao Qi for last time’s incident. Originally, the fact that Lao Qi managed to come out alive was already something our family owed him; we would definitely have given him great merit for it. But now he’s doing something like this, it’s really chilling. To actually harm his own brothers, sigh!”

The others were also seething with anger; some were shouting about killing the Seventh Elder, while others lamented this matter. Seeing everyone react this way, Wanyan Hongsheng secretly let out a breath of relief. It seemed this matter had been glossed over; his own responsibility was much lighter now.

Wanyan Second Master remained silent. After pondering for a while, he raised his head, looked at Wanyan Hongsheng, and said in a low voice, ”According to what you’re saying, Lao Qi has already joined up with the people of the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance?”

”It should be like that.” Wanyan Hongsheng paused, then suddenly remembered something and said, ”Right, back in Shenchuan City I also received a monumental piece of news!”

”What news?” everyone immediately asked.

Wanyan Hongsheng took a deep breath and said in a low voice, ”Several Elders of Iga-ryu probably didn’t leave any survivors. Also, the Iga Ryu Clan Master was set up by Ye Qing and personally killed by the Bloody Monk!”

”What!?” Wanyan Second Master abruptly sat up straight; the shock of this matter to him was obviously immense, his expression even changed. Such a large force as Iga-ryu had actually been completely wiped out just like that? It was a bit hard for him to accept.

One had to know, the Wanyan Family had planted Old Seventh Wan Yan as a mole in Iga-ryu precisely to bring Iga-ryu’s power under their control. But who could have imagined that after all these years of plotting, not only had they failed to secure Iga-ryu’s strength, Iga-ryu had instead been dismantled by others. With all the major Elders dead and even the Clan Master killed, what was left of Iga-ryu now?

The others were also full of astonishment. One of them said, ”The strength of the Iga Ryu Clan Master was very formidable; how could he be killed by the Bloody Monk?”

”Sigh!” Wanyan Hongsheng let out a sigh and said, ”The Bloody Monk’s strength is far greater than we estimated. I’m sure the Bloody Monk’s strength is definitely above Nalan Jingwei. This Bloody Monk is even more qualified than Nalan Jingwei to be called one of the Five Unmatches of the World!”

”No matter how strong he is, he shouldn’t be stronger than the Iga Ryu Clan Master, right?” A man looked at Wanyan Second Master in puzzlement and said, ”Second Brother, didn’t you say that the Iga Ryu Clan Master had no rival among Peak Masters?”

Wanyan Second Master fell silent for a while, then said, ”It seems we need to reassess the Bloody Monk’s strength. By the way, it really was only the Bloody Monk alone who killed the Iga Ryu Clan Master? No one helped him?”

”The news I received said it was only the Bloody Monk who made a move; the others just guarded all around to prevent the Iga Ryu Clan Master from escaping!” Wanyan Hongsheng paused, then said, ”Oh right, the Bloody Monk should have been injured as well.”

This last line meant nothing to the others. The fact that the Bloody Monk could kill the Iga Ryu Clan Master was what mattered most. Whether he was injured or not was unimportant; what was important was that his strength actually surpassed that of the Iga Ryu Clan Master. That was the truly terrifying part, and exactly what the Wanyan Family least wanted to see.

”The Iga Ryu Clan Master is dead…” Wanyan Second Master drew in a breath and said, ”Then what about Iga-ryu’s Heavenly Cluster Clouds?”

If Ye Qing were here to hear Wanyan Second Master’s words, he would be utterly shocked, because the fact that the Wanyan Family actually knew about Heavenly Cluster Clouds was an extremely secret matter.

In fact, the Wanyan Family had long known about Heavenly Cluster Clouds. After all, the Seventh Elder had been working as an undercover agent in Iga-ryu the whole time; they knew quite a few of Iga-ryu’s secrets. Moreover, the Wanyan Family’s original plan had been to seize Iga-ryu’s Heavenly Cluster Clouds and use it to control Iga-ryu.

”Well…” Wanyan Hongsheng scratched his head and said, ”I don’t know either, but Heavenly Cluster Clouds should have been carried on the person of the Iga Ryu Clan Master. Since he was killed, the Heavenly Cluster Clouds he carried was probably taken by Ye Qing and the others, right?”

”Damn, then what do we do?” A slightly younger man couldn’t help blurting out a curse. It was no wonder; everyone in the Wanyan Family knew what Heavenly Cluster Clouds was for. The Wanyan Family had coveted this Heavenly Cluster Clouds for a long time; if someone else had gotten it, how could they possibly accept it?

Wanyan Second Master’s brows furrowed tightly; this news made him very uneasy. He was silent for a moment, then said, ”This matter isn’t something we need to be overly anxious about. First, Ye Qing and his people might not even know what Heavenly Cluster Clouds is. Second, even if they know Heavenly Cluster Clouds, they might not know how to use it. Let’s not rush. Once we’re back, immediately send people to investigate the situation with Heavenly Cluster Clouds. No matter what, we must get this thing. With it, we might be able to counter Ye Qing’s Buddha’s Relic, and we can also feel at ease letting the Corpse Ghost Dragon come out and act!”
