Urban Martial Saint

Helian Tiehua looked at Ye Qing, seeing that he hadn’t answered his question yet, he began to feel uneasy, wondering what Ye Qing was thinking. Either agree or disagree, but smiling without answering, what does that mean?

After a while, Ye Qing seemed to have finally made up his mind, nodding slowly and said, ”General Helian, actually, you didn’t need to come to me personally about this matter, I’m already well aware of it. Setting other issues aside, just based on my relationship with Zi Yu, I absolutely cannot accept the Twelve Green Halls joining the World Alliance. General Helian should remember that the former Huangfu Household was exterminated by the people from the Twelve Green Halls. Although it was Ning Qianshu who did it, it was still the idea of the Twelve Green Halls. Even though Zi Yu has only directed her hatred towards Ning Qianshu, that doesn’t mean she can accept the Twelve Green Halls!”

Hearing this, Helian Tiehua let out a long sigh of relief. With Ye Qing’s words, he felt much more assured. Of course, he also heard another implication from Ye Qing’s words. That is, the primary reason Ye Qing doesn’t accept the Twelve Green Halls is because of Huangfu Ziyu. In other words, in Ye Qing’s heart, Huangfu Ziyu’s reason is bigger than the reason of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance. To put it bluntly, Ye Qing is telling Helian Tiehua that he’s doing this because of Huangfu Ziyu.

Helian Tiehua is no fool; he naturally understands what Ye Qing means. Previously, many from the Seven Great Families weren’t satisfied with Huangfu Ziyu, especially this time with Aolingyun, who clamored as soon as he appeared that Huangfu Ziyu is his granddaughter-in-law, attempting to suppress her using the identity of the Supreme Elder. Even though this issue with Aolingyun was resolved, who knows if future Supreme Elders might do similar things. Hence, Ye Qing is signaling to Helian Tiehua that he no longer wants to see anyone from the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance target matters concerning Huangfu Ziyu or make things difficult for the Huangfu Household.

”Rest assured, Ye brothers, your words have the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance deeply grateful.” Helian Tiehua paused, looking at Ye Qing, and said: ”Although Helian doesn’t have much say in front of the Supreme Elders, Helian can still give Ye brothers his word. As long as Helian is around, anyone within the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance who wants to make things difficult for Ye brothers or the members of the Huangfu Household, must step over Helian’s dead body!”

Hearing this, Ye Qing was also stirred with emotions, he hit the table forcefully and said: ”Good! With your words, General Helian, Mr. Ye can also give the Great General a promise. As long as Mr. Ye is in the World Alliance, the alliance will never favor either Hong Alliance’s Seven Steering Committees or Twelve Green Halls. Moreover, while the World Alliance won’t intervene in grievances between Hong Alliance’s Seven Steering Committees and Twelve Green Halls, it remains a friend to the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance in other affairs!”

The word ’friend’ warmly touched Helian Tiehua’s heart. Ye Qing, by saying this, is essentially telling him that although the World Alliance won’t interfere in the disputes between the Hong Alliance’s Seven Steering Committees and the Twelve Green Halls, it can assist the Seven Steering Committees in other matters. As chaos looms, Ye Qing saying these words is indeed moving, especially with the Wanyan Family and the Sword Saint Sect still watching closely, and not knowing when the Church might attack. Although the Hong Alliance’s Seven Steering Committees are powerful, they dare not be careless in such chaotic times.

However, having the World Alliance as an ally is a great relief. At least, when the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance act in the future, they’ll have more confidence.

The two chatted a bit more, then Helian Tiehua did not stay longer at the World Alliance, leaving with a glowing face. He achieved his objective for visiting the World Alliance this time, and most importantly, received a promise from Ye Qing, gaining a lot.

After sending Helian Tiehua away, Ye Qing returned to the main building’s reception hall and drank merrily with everyone. Most of these masters can drink heavily. Fortunately, Ye Qing’s drinking capacity isn’t bad either, accompanying everyone until dawn before they finished. Ye Qing was quite dazed and went to rest with Huangfu Ziyu taking care of him.

Waking up, it was already the next morning. Ye Qing had drunk too much last night, so he couldn’t wake up as promptly as usual. Opening his eyes, he found himself lying in his bed. Nearby at his side lay an absolutely beautiful woman, precisely Huangfu Ziyu.

At this moment, Huangfu Ziyu was still wearing yesterday’s outfit. It looked like she stayed up late taking care of Ye Qing, so she directly lay down to sleep here. But because of lying in bed, her clothes were a bit stretched open, her graceful figure displayed fully. From Ye Qing’s angle, he could see a snow-white expanse below her neck, making his blood race. Her long eyelashes shadowed her beautiful eyes, a delicate nose, and flaming red lips—all constantly testing a man’s nerves.

Though they were already betrothed, Ye Qing hadn’t experienced affairs between men and women. He was young and vigorous, seeing such a sight in the morning made him almost unable to bear it, feeling slightly dizzy. He dared not look more, quickly turning his head aside, afraid that lingering might cause trouble.

Taking several deep breaths, he forced himself to practice the Innate Nine Diagrams to calm his stirred emotions. He slowly jumped off the bed, gently covered Huangfu Ziyu with a quilt, and stealthily walked to the bathroom, careful not to make any sound, fearing to awaken the beauty on the bed.

After tidying up, Ye Qing glanced at Huangfu Ziyu sleeping soundly on the bed, feeling a wave of happiness. Smiling slightly, he opened the door and went downstairs, getting ready to have breakfast in the kitchen. But just at the kitchen entrance, he heard a voice that caused a headache.

”Hey, young man, I’m talking to you, why aren’t you answering? Don’t you know to respect the elderly and care for the young? I’m much older than you, you should at least show me basic respect. Don’t tell me that roast duck isn’t suitable for breakfast, I love greasy food, isn’t that okay? Stop the nonsense, hurry up and prepare it for me!”

This voice was unmistakably Old Chen’s voice; his nagging was indeed a trademark of Old Chen. No doubt, it must be Old Chen having a meal in the kitchen again.

Ye Qing was nearly frustrated to collapse. Why did this old fellow stick to him? From Hong Alliance’s Seven Steering Committees to the World Alliance, he seemed always to reside in his kitchen! What was going on? Moreover, this sneaky person, eating roast pig or gnawing roast duck early morning, are these edible things? Who eats such greasy food early in the morning? What is this old man’s background?

Honestly, if Old Chen wasn’t someone Ye Qing found from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, and if his background hadn’t been investigated yet, Ye Qing would have already evicted him. This old fellow, lazy and indulgent, has a lustful nature and is a nagger. Every day he only does three things: eat to the fullest and flirt with beauties, return when hungry to eat, and nap when tired. Anyway, his life revolves around eating, sleeping, and bothering women, making the ladies from the Seven Steering Committees recoil as if seeing a ghost. Such a person thrown onto the street might have been beaten to death by now.

With a displeased mood, Ye Qing entered the kitchen, seeing Old Chen gnawing on pig trotters, he felt an indescribable irritation and said, ”Old Chen, didn’t I arrange a separate place for you to stay? Why are you here again?”

”Hey, you came just in time, I was just about to talk to you about this!” Old Chen got up directly when he saw Ye Qing and said, ”I say, what kinda place did you arrange for me? I asked and found out that everyone there is chefs, cleaners, or gatekeepers in your estate. What’s the meaning of this? As if I haven’t braved dangers with you, life and death together, climbed mountains and crossed seas, gone through all this, and you treat a companion that way? Arranging me to live with servants—is this how you host? How can you, the Hierarch of the World Alliance, treat a comrade in life and death like this, aren’t you afraid of losing face once this spreads?”

Ye Qing thought to himself, when did I experience life and death with you, obviously I saved you from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, right? If it wasn’t for me saving you, you’d still be locked in the Tomb; how can you have the gall to say these things to me? If your identity hadn’t been unclear, forget about a servant’s living place, you’d have been thrown out long ago.

”Cut the crap, stay if you like, if you don’t, then hurry home. This isn’t your home you know, do you intend to stay here indefinitely?” Ye Qing retorted angrily.

Old Chen immediately said, ”It’s not that I don’t want to go home, but you saw it, my home was destroyed by an earthquake, and the house is gone. You now want me to go back, aren’t you leaving me to sleep on the street? I really must say, we’ve battled dangers and shared joys, climbed...”

”Oh, stop with your nonsense!” Ye Qing interrupted Old Chen, saying, ”I saved you from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, there’s no talk of battling dangers together. Matter of fact, you owe me one life; I owe you nothing. So, don’t give me that spiel. Either return home now, or stay in the place I arranged for you.”

Even with Ye Qing directly exposing his words, Old Chen unshaken and earnest, said, ”Whether you saved me or I saved you, at least such a dangerous path, we walked together—that’s fate, that’s connection. Well, enough chatter, I’m off to crap now, we’ll talk later!”
