Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing jumped into the water, and several small octopus water monsters immediately swam toward him, stretching their tentacles to wrap around him.

Apparently, the giant octopus water monster was attacking the people outside, while the small octopus water monsters were providing cover below. Although these small octopus water monsters were termed ’small,’ it depended on what you compared them to; their tentacles were all three to four meters long, more than enough to entangle a person.

In the water, Ye Qing’s speed naturally wasn’t that fast, and these small octopus water monsters quickly entangled him. However, Ye Qing did not panic at all; instead, he grabbed one of the tentacles, exerted force, and pulled the octopus water monster directly in front of him.

The octopus water monster hadn’t expected Ye Qing to possess such strength; it was clearly fearful, attempting to let go of its tentacle and flee. But Ye Qing didn’t give it the opportunity, grabbing its shell and forcefully throwing this small octopus water monster outward, straight towards the giant octopus water monster outside.

The giant octopus water monster was dealing with the people on shore and hadn’t expected the Ye Qing who just jumped into the water to have such strength. The small octopus water monster flew out and directly hit its head, causing it to be briefly stunned. The small octopus monster was knocked unconscious, landing on the nearby shore.

The few small octopus water monsters beside Ye Qing were frightened by the sight, immediately turning to flee. Ye Qing ignored them entirely since the giant octopus water monster’s body was nearby. Ye Qing swam a few meters forward and grabbed hold of the giant octopus water monster’s body.

At this moment, the giant octopus water monster seemed to finally regain its senses, waving its tentacles aggressively toward Ye Qing as if it had been infuriated, trying to entangle and tear him apart.

Ye Qing paid no heed to these, gripping the giant octopus water monster’s body tightly as he climbed upward. The tentacles of the octopus water monster wrapped around him, but the prayer beads on Ye Qing’s right wrist emitted a blue glow with strong power, making Ye Qing fearless of the octopus water monster’s tentacles.

The octopus water monster initially intended to drag Ye Qing into the water with its tentacles, but Ye Qing’s strength was much greater. No matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t pull Ye Qing away from it. Instead, Ye Qing grabbed one tentacle with force, pulling it outward, causing the octopus water monster to emit a squealing sound.

Ye Qing was amazed at the resilience of the giant octopus monster’s body. Previously, he could easily snap several tentacles of the small octopus water monster. However, no matter how much strength Ye Qing exerted, it barely injured the giant octopus water monster, only causing it to cry out in pain.

Yet, Ye Qing didn’t get disheartened; he firmly held onto that tentacle, emitting a roar and exerting force again to tear it off. His motivation was to first rescue Handsome Fatty Wang, who was tangled by that tentacle.

This exertion ripped open a section of the tentacle. In agony, the giant octopus water monster released everyone entangled in its other tentacles, turning to wrap several tentacles around Ye Qing.

”Bring it on!” Ye Qing shouted, allowing the tentacles to wrap around him but continued tearing the tentacle. Finally, as the giant octopus water monster’s tentacles completely enveloped Ye Qing, he tore the tentacle off.

As one tentacle was torn from it, the giant octopus water monster roared deafeningly like a severed arm, its massive body rolling in the water. Its immense size churned huge waves, creating a terrifying spectacle.

Ye Qing clung firmly to the giant octopus water monster’s body, showing no sign of releasing, and again grabbed another tentacle to continue tearing. The giant octopus water monster’s combat capability was truly daunting; Ye Qing knew he had to deal with it first. Otherwise, if it attacked everyone in the water later, it would be dangerous.

The giant octopus water monster rolled in the water a few times without shaking Ye Qing off and suddenly stopped rolling, instead, entangled Ye Qing, diving into the water.

The giant octopus water monster was extremely cunning; it realized pulling Ye Qing off outside was nearly impossible. So, it stopped trying to tear, choosing to dive with Ye Qing. Being human, Ye Qing couldn’t withstand much time in the water; the monster intended to drown him.

Dragged into the water by the giant octopus water monster, Ye Qing panicked a little, understanding his situation. Though the three forces within him allowed some endurance underwater, it wouldn’t last overly long. If soaked too long, wouldn’t his life end here?

Ye Qing exerted force, trying to break free from the giant octopus water monster’s tentacles. But the monster was desperate now. Maintaining a firm grip, it showed no sign of releasing; its sole intent was to drown Ye Qing alive.

The position where the giant octopus water monster was diving wasn’t the previous small stone cave but towards another spacious area. The place resembled a lake, very broad. Dragging Ye Qing down, it was evident that the giant octopus water monster intended to bury Ye Qing deep underwater.

Ye Qing struggled desperately, and in that moment, had ripped off two more tentacles of the giant octopus monster. However, the remaining five tentacles of the giant octopus monster were still desperately entangled with Ye Qing. Judging by its stance, it seemed determined to fight Ye Qing to the death. It dragged Ye Qing down over a hundred meters, without knowing why this underground river was so deep, until they reached the bottom where there was a water cave and finally stopped.

During this process, Ye Qing also tore off two more tentacles of the giant octopus monster, adding to the three from before, which meant Ye Qing had ripped off five tentacles from the giant octopus monster. In this water cave, the giant octopus monster lay completely still on the riverbed, exhausted to death by Ye Qing.

At this moment, Ye Qing felt somewhat suffocated. He disentangled himself from those tentacles, glanced at the dead giant octopus monster, and prepared to turn around and leave. Just then, deep within the water cave, a sudden flash of golden light made the power of the Buddha’s Relic within Ye Qing’s body tremble intensely!

”What is that thing?” Ye Qing wondered, as only something related to the Buddhist Sect could trigger the power of the Buddha’s Relic within him. But what sort of thing from the Buddhist Sect could be in such a deep water cave?

Driven by curiosity and doubt, Ye Qing swam towards the location of that golden light. He knew that things capable of emitting golden light generally possessed powerful energy from the Buddhist Sect.

The water cave was not deep, and Ye Qing swam forward about ten meters before he could finally see clearly what that glowing object was. It was a small spherical ball identical to the Buddhist Relics Ye Qing had seen before. However, the golden light from this sphere seemed even more potent than the Buddhist Relics Ye Qing had previously encountered. The scattered light felt like gentle sunlight caressing one’s body, offering a profound sense of tranquility.

This should also be a Buddha’s Relic, otherwise why would it emit such light and also trigger the power of his internal Buddha’s Relic? But why did this Buddha’s Relic differ somewhat from the Buddha’s Relic he had obtained before?

With questions in mind, Ye Qing reached out and grasped this Buddha’s Relic in his hand. As soon as the Buddha’s Relic touched his hand, its light gradually faded into simplicity, turning into what seemed like an ordinary bead.

Ye Qing didn’t think much about why this Buddha’s Relic turned out the way it did, for at that moment, he felt rather suffocated. Thus, he dared not hesitate, hurriedly rushing out of the water cave and swiftly ascended.

The giant octopus monster had dragged Ye Qing down quite a distance. Ye Qing exerted maximum effort, yet it took more than a full minute before he finally broke through the surface. During this time, he was almost suffocated, feeling as though his lungs were about to burst.

As soon as he broke through the surface, Ye Qing heard splashes around him and turned to see several people swimming nearby, among them was Handsome Fatty Wang.

”What are you doing?” Ye Qing asked in surprise, given that the giant octopus monster was gone, why were these people still in the water?

”Wow, you... you got out by yourself?” Handsome Fatty Wang, with wide eyes, looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Young Ye, you... are you alright?”

”What could happen to me?” Ye Qing replied as he swam towards the shore, asking, ”What are you doing in the water?”

”Saving you!” A nearby man also exclaimed in astonishment, ”Where did the giant water monster drag you? We couldn’t find you in the water!”

Obviously, how deep could these people dive? Ye Qing had been dragged over a hundred meters down by the giant octopus monster, how could they possibly find Ye Qing?

”I was dragged to the riverbed, but I killed it!” Ye Qing answered, climbing ashore. He sat by the riverbank and caught his breath, suddenly feeling a sense of surprise as he raised his left hand and saw that the Buddha’s Relic was still in his grip.

This situation surprised Ye Qing greatly, as the previous Buddhist Relics he had held would be absorbed by his body quickly, entering his body. Ye Qing had assumed this Buddha’s Relic would also be absorbed soon, but why hadn’t it been absorbed by him for such a long time?

Seeing so many Buddha’s Relics, Ye Qing’s mind had come to believe that having Buddha’s Relics absorbed into his body was normal. The fact that this Buddha’s Relic hadn’t been absorbed, hadn’t entered his body, was actually abnormal.
