Urban Martial Saint

Compared to the Great Demon King, Guiguzi is already far behind. But Buddha and the Great Demon King are figures of the same era, both are the heads of a sect; there shouldn’t be much difference between them. By this calculation, the gap between Guiguzi and Buddha is naturally huge.

One Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master has already led so many people to risk their lives to compete for it. So, if the news of Buddha’s Golden Body were to spread, how many people would be shocked?

Ye Qing can’t imagine, because it’s unimaginable. In the Tomb of the Ghost Valley Master, over ten Peak Masters have died, which is already a significant loss. However, if news of Buddha’s Golden Body spreads, the death toll would likely exceed that number.

Ye Qing was immensely shocked and forgot to speak for a moment. At this time, Broom Star slowly raised the spherical bead he had just obtained and said, ”Do you know the connection between Honored Buddha and Nine-Headed Buddha Body?”

”Honored Buddha also has a connection with Nine-Headed Buddha Body?” Ye Qing was even more surprised. He never imagined that the spherical bead acquired while slaying the giant octopus monster would also be related to Nine-Headed Buddha Body.

”The Nine Heads within the Nine-Headed Buddha Body are formed by a division of Buddha’s power and memories. However, power and memories are not tangible; their existence requires a tangible entity as assistance.” Broom Star slowly swayed the Honored Buddha in his hand and said, ”And these entities are precisely Honored Buddha!”

”Honored Buddha is actually... actually one of the Nine Heads within the Nine-Headed Buddha Body!?” Ye Qing was completely stunned. How could he have thought that the spherical bead he obtained was one of the Nine Heads within the Nine-Headed Buddha Body?

In retrospect, it’s no wonder that when he saw the spherical bead, it emitted such golden light, as it contained Buddha’s power and memories. Moreover, Ye Qing had felt at the time that the golden light was even stronger than that of Buddha’s Relic. Now he finally understands the reason. This spherical bead contains Buddha’s power, so naturally it’s stronger than the Buddha’s Relic that contains Ancestor Buddha Shakyamuni’s power.

After all, Ancestor Buddha Shakyamuni is a person after Buddha. Though strong, it’s said his power is comparable to that of the creator sect Buddha, but that’s just comparable, not genuinely the creator sect himself. So, it’s not surprising that Ancestor Buddha Shakyamuni’s power is weaker than Buddha’s, and that his Relic’s power is inferior to Honored Buddha’s.

Looking at Broom Star’s Honored Buddha, Ye Qing can’t help but recall the Taoist Sovereign he previously acquired. If Honored Buddha is formed by the division of Buddha’s power and memories, then what is Taoist Sovereign? Could it also be the same as Honored Buddha? If this is truly the case, then Taoist Sovereign would necessarily be connected to the physical body of Dao.

While Ye Qing was in shock, Broom Star then softly continued, ”These tangible entities are actually formed from the nine pieces of bone from Buddha’s head. The divided power and memories are stored in these nine pieces of bone. Therefore, these nine Honored Buddhas are also called Nine Heads, the ’head’ in Nine Heads refers to the meaning of skull bone!”

Hearing Broom Star’s explanation, Ye Qing finally understood the origin of the word ”head” in Nine Heads. However, understanding these matters has made Ye Qing even more shocked by this event. Honored Buddha, Taoist Sovereign, both involve the physical bodies of Buddhist and Taoist. According to Guiguzi’s statements, the Various Gods will soon reappear and bring chaos to the world. This world is truly becoming increasingly chaotic. Could it indeed be like Guiguzi said, that when the world descends into chaos, no one can stop it?

Taking a deep breath, Ye Qing looked at Broom Star and asked, ”According to what you said earlier, if you gather the Nine Heads, that is, nine Honored Buddhas, you will find Buddha’s Golden Body. But after finding Buddha’s Golden Body, what will happen then?”

Broom Star slowly shook his head, looked at Ye Qing and said, ”It’s best not to find Buddha’s Golden Body!”

”Why?” Ye Qing was surprised. Broom Star seemed to have a very deep connection with the Buddhist Sect. Logically, they should greatly respect Buddha and might consider worshipping Buddha’s Golden Body their greatest dream. So, why would Broom Star say not to find Buddha’s Golden Body? Could it be that they don’t worship Buddha?

”On the day Buddha perished, he left a saying,” Broom Star said, ”On the day the Golden Body is found, the world shall descend into chaos!”

Ye Qing’s heart skipped a beat. This saying is easy to understand, suggesting that when people find Buddha’s Golden Body, the world would start to descend into chaos. And could this chaos mentioned by Buddha be the same as the chaos described by Guiguzi? Because according to Guiguzi, this era is precisely the time when the world falls into chaos!

”This world descent into chaos...” Ye Qing looked at Broom Star and asked, ”What does it ultimately mean?”

Broom Star replied, ”You’ve been inside the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master; these matters need no explanation from me, right?”

Ye Qing’s heart sank instantly, and he exclaimed in surprise, ”The chaos mentioned by Buddha is the same... the same as the chaos mentioned by Guiguzi?”

Broom Star sighed lightly and said, ”It seems like it should be the same thing!”

”Why do you say that?” Ye Qing asked curiously, and at the same time asked in surprise, ”Also, do you know the situation inside the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master?”

Broom Star didn’t answer Ye Qing’s question. He just silently looked at the Honored Buddha in his hand. After a while, he finally spoke softly, ”Including this Honored Buddha, eight Honored Buddhas have already emerged. Gathering the Nine Heads is already just around the corner. The day Buddha’s Golden Body is restored is also not far off!”

”Huh?” Ye Qing’s expression froze; there are already eight Honored Buddhas that have emerged. That means, once one more Honored Buddha appears, the Nine Heads can be gathered. Then, Buddha’s Golden Body will reappear, and the world will descend into chaos. According to the timeline, this chaos is essentially the same event as mentioned by Guiguzi.

”Where are the other seven Honored Buddhas?” Ye Qing asked.

Broom Star slowly shook his head, not answering Ye Qing’s question. Clearly, he should know the whereabouts of the other seven Honored Buddhas but simply is unwilling to speak.

Ye Qing understands this; after all, this matter is indeed significant. Don’t mention anything else, just leaking the Honored Buddha information alone would lead countless people to compete for it. If the whereabouts of the other seven Honored Buddhas were leaked, it would be chaos in finding Buddha’s Golden Body before it’s even discovered.

After a moment of silence, Ye Qing suddenly revealed the prayer beads worn on his right wrist and said, ”Since you can recognize this Honored Buddha, can you recognize this string?”

”This is Taoist Sovereign!” Broom Star replied straightforwardly, instantly resolving Ye Qing’s doubts. Ye Qing had previously been guessing whether this string of prayer beads was Taoist Sovereign, and now listening to Broom Star, it is confirmed to be Taoist Sovereign.

”Is Taoist Sovereign the same as Honored Buddha?” Ye Qing took a deep breath and asked, ”Also formed by the division of Dao’s power and memories?”

”The situation of Taoist Sovereign is somewhat different from Honored Buddha.” Broom Star shook his head and said, ”I’m not very sure about the specifics of how they differ. However, according to what I know, on the day Dao perished, it was body demise and Dao extinction. His power and body are no longer in existence. It’s even uncertain whether Taoist Sovereign was left by him.”

Ye Qing originally thought the situation of Taoist Sovereign was similar to Honored Buddha; hearing Broom Star speak, he was even more astonished. These two are indeed different? So, it’s basically impossible to consider Taoist Sovereign by the situation of Honored Buddha.

”Do you know anything about deities?” Ye Qing asked the most crucial question, pondering it from the moment he left the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master until now. And now, for some reason, he felt that he could get answers from Broom Star. Though Broom Star is just a child, his wisdom and knowledge far surpass everyone.

”This matter doesn’t require my explanation; you’ll soon learn,” Broom Star paused and looked at Ye Qing. ”Actually, there are many things in this world that are unimaginable to you but must be believed. Whether deities exist depends on how you understand it. Let me put it this way: with modern technological advancements, many things once impossible for mankind have been achieved. To those primitive people who created fire by friction, using a lighter to ignite flames may make you appear god-like. Similarly, before ancient people riding horses and carts, if you fly a plane, you’d appear like a deity capable of traveling in clouds and mist!”

Ye Qing took a deep breath. The content within Broom Star’s words is incredibly rich. According to Broom Star’s explanation, deity existence largely depends on comparisons. You are weak, and others far exceed your imagination; to you, they might be deities. If interpreted this way, then Shen Tianjun’s previous assertion was correct. Deities are merely a group of extraordinarily powerful people. A real deity does not exist!

Understanding this, Ye Qing too breathed a sigh of relief. Knowing that deities don’t exist greatly reduces the pressure. After all, fighting a deity and battling a highly skilled person are completely different concepts. The former is nearly impossible to achieve, while the latter, with effort, surely brings rewards!

”How do you know all these things?” Ye Qing asked Broom Star, finally posing the question he had pondered for a long time: ”Who exactly are you?”

”Me?” Broom Star slowly held the Honored Buddha in his hand and said, ”Perhaps I’ll need to change my name from now on. No longer call me Broom Star; you can call me True Buddha!”
