Urban Martial Saint

”What on earth is going on?” Slaughter Venerable looked at Executioner Scholar in front, and said, ”Fourth Brother, you’re the clever one, analyze this for me, what exactly is happening?”

Executioner Scholar let out a light breath, turned his head to look at the three people behind him, and said, ”This time the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates are opening, accompanied by the Era of the Turmoil of the Three Stars of Sirius. Legend has it that when these two events happen simultaneously, they will unveil the greatest secret of the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates. And everything will be resolved through this opportunity. Everyone is convinced that this opening of the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates is indeed the most important one so far.”

”That’s why so many people are risking their lives to seize the chance to enter the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates. In our era, and even in the era before ours, so many Peak Masters chose to hide during their most glorious moments, either to recuperate or meditate in seclusion, or to enter a deep sleep, just to survive until this era and wait for the opportunity to enter the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates!”

”The main contention between the Church and Huaxia also centers around the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates. This time, the opening is not only the most significant that Huaxia’s Martial Artists have considered in centuries, but even the Church will regard it as the most crucial. The importance we place on the opening, they place the same importance. So, if they act differently than before, it’s not surprising; it just indicates that the Church highly values the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates!”

After hearing Executioner Scholar’s explanation, the three people behind him all suddenly understood. Slaughter Venerable slapped the car door beside him and said, ”I see, no wonder so many top experts from the Church are here at once; we aren’t their match. But saying that, the Church does have many top experts. If the Church launches a full assault, I fear that Huaxia’s Martial Artists might not be able to resist them. Shouldn’t we worry that the Church’s bastards will seize the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates?”

Slaughter Venerable’s words left the two people beside him looking at each other, as it was indeed a severe issue. They had experienced that era and naturally understood the Church’s formidable power. If they did invade massively, then Huaxia would certainly be in danger.

”Why bother with so much!” Executioner Scholar glanced at him and said, ”Only one person can enter the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates. Even if the Church is powerful, they may not be able to control everything. Furthermore, entering isn’t purely a matter of strength; luck plays a significant role. If it’s solely about strength, then among the four of us, it’s clear we’re not strong enough, so why bother fighting? We might as well go home and wait for death!”

Executioner Scholar’s words made Slaughter Venerable feel a bit embarrassed. He scratched his head and said, ”I’m just saying, but the Church’s strength is indeed not weak. Like those ten people in front of us, they’re not easy to deal with. Fourth Brother, what’s the point of following them if we can’t beat them?”

”Who said we had to fight alone?” Executioner Scholar said in a deep voice, ”I’ve already contacted the Wan Yan Family people, naturally they’ll handle this matter. We just need to follow them, wait for the Wan Yan Family to come, and fight the Church’s people, then we can take advantage of the chaos to capture Ye Qing. Once we get the Buddha’s Relic, whether it’s the Wan Yan Family or the Church, we won’t need to fear any of them!”

Slaughter Venerable was overjoyed, grinned widely, and said, ”Yes, yes, let’s secure the Buddha’s Relic first, that’s the key!”

The driver sat nearby, listening to the conversation among these four people, feeling utterly confused, having no idea what they were talking about. However, he didn’t dare to ask, cautiously driving the car following the Church’s vehicle ahead. After driving for approximately two hours, they reached a secluded mountain road on the outskirts. As the driver followed the car in front, suddenly, the leading vehicle turned a corner, and upon catching up, the car in front was nowhere to be seen.

”Hey, where did the car in front go?” the driver asked in surprise. In front were two forks in the road, and without seeing the car ahead, he naturally didn’t know which way to go. If they took the wrong route, they’d lose it entirely.

With the car in front vanished, Executioner Scholar’s expression changed drastically. His Six Senses were sharp, yet even he couldn’t hear the movement of the car ahead, making him even more bewildered. Even though they were following from behind, it didn’t make sense for the car to suddenly disappear without a trace. How could there be no sound at all?

A moment of doubt flashed in Executioner Scholar’s eyes, and suddenly a cold gleam appeared. He immediately jumped out of the car and shouted, ”Get out, quickly!”

Although Slaughter Venerable and the three inside the car didn’t know what had happened, they always trusted Executioner Scholar. Hearing his words, the three immediately kicked open the car door and jumped out, leaving only the driver sitting there, looking bewildered, not understanding why the four of them suddenly jumped out simultaneously.

Just after the four escaped, a massive boulder suddenly rolled down from the hillside beside them, rolling directly towards the taxi.

The driver saw the huge rock, his face changed dramatically, and he tried to open the door and get out, but it was too late. The boulder, nearly vertical from the hill, rolled over and crushed the taxi, flattening it instantaneously, and the unfortunate driver inside met his end along with his vehicle.

Fortunately, Executioner Scholar and the other three ran fast enough, barely escaping this disaster. Looking at the crushed taxi, Slaughter Venerable felt a lingering fear, turning his head angrily: ”These bastards, actually using such a method for a sneak attack, it’s truly despicable!”

In this brief moment, the four also clearly saw that on the mountain tops on both sides, the Church members were coldly watching them. Undoubtedly, the giant boulder just now was pushed down by the Church’s people, aiming to crush them to death. But thankfully, Executioner Scholar reacted quickly, promptly leading the three of them to escape this calamity, yet the taxi and its driver were not so fortunate.

The Great Lord stood on the mountain peak, looking at the four below, his eyes flashed with cold light, and he shouted: ”You Huaxia have an old saying, ’Seeing the coffin is believing in death.’ It seems that today, you must see the coffin to understand the vastness of heaven and earth!”

An elder beside the Great Lord translated the words, instantly enraging Slaughter Venerable further, who hollered to have a duel with the Church people. Executioner Scholar stood beside him, tightly furrowing his brows. After a moment of silence, he suddenly tugged Slaughter Venerable, whispering: ”Let’s retreat first!”

”Retreat?” Slaughter Venerable was surprised and said: ”Retreat without a fight, where will our face be if this spreads?”

”Do you want to die here or save face?” Executioner Scholar glanced around, whispering: ”There are so many of them, and they’ve surrounded all paths. Once they rush down, we won’t be able to escape. At the airport just now, though it allowed us to escape, the same method won’t work twice. They surely knew we were tracking them long ago, so they deliberately lured us to this desolate place with no people, clearly intending to kill us and silence us. Staying here is no different from courting death.”

Slaughter Venerable opened his mouth, finally nodding at Executioner Scholar: ”You’re right, then let’s run!”

Executioner Scholar didn’t answer but subtly signaled to Snake Gentleman. Snake Gentleman understood, slightly curling his lips, blowing an indistinct whistle as if controlling something. Moments later, he stopped and signaled back to Executioner Scholar.

”Run!” With Snake Gentleman’s response, Executioner Scholar immediately shouted, taking the lead to retreat back the way they came.

Slaughter Venerable and the other three were already prepared to run. Following Executioner Scholar’s loud call, the three didn’t hesitate and immediately followed him.

From both sides of the mountains, the Church members saw Executioner Scholar and the other three turning to flee and immediately wanted to pursue, but were stopped by the Great Lord.

”Let them run!” The Great Lord said in a deep voice.

”Great Lord, this place is extremely remote, no one will come here. Moreover, we have them completely suppressed; if everyone acted together, we could absolutely kill these four.” A red-robed Archbishop hurriedly said: ”These four are all strong, being standouts even in Huaxia. Killing them now would also weaken Huaxia’s martial artists’ strength, paving the way for us to enter Huaxia in the future!”

Others had the same thought as the red-robed Archbishop, and an elder nodded: ”Moreover, these four definitely won’t give up easily. Letting them go will mean they keep tracking us, making it even more troublesome. It’s better to take this chance to kill them and be done with it!”

The Great Lord glanced at these two, saying in a deep voice: ”Do you think I don’t want to kill them? These four all have unique skills, especially the scholar-looking one whose strength isn’t much lower than mine. With their skills, even if we could kill them, it would come at a significant cost, possibly even losing several people, which seems not worth it. Besides, our priority is to bring Ye Qing to the Church, everything else can be set aside for now. If facing these four weakens us, what if we encounter more masters next time, wouldn’t that be troublesome?”

Everyone exchanged glances, feeling the Great Lord’s logic made sense. But one elder still had doubts: ”But if we don’t thoroughly eliminate them, they will continue to pursue us, isn’t that still problematic? Only by killing them can we completely get rid of them, finishing it once and for all!”
