Urban Martial Saint

The Red-robed Archbishop had just been struck dead, but another person fell down into the cave, also a Peak Master.

The Fat Jiao seemed to have gotten ferocious, seeing another person fall down, it immediately raised its claws to sweep toward this new arrival.

Seeing the situation, the Great Lord’s expression changed as well. People above were jumping down one after another, and given this situation, every person that fell down would inevitably be killed by the Fat Jiao; wouldn’t it mean this group would all perish under the claws of the Fat Jiao?

Being the leader of this group, the Great Lord naturally couldn’t just stand by and watch his people die there. So, just as the Fat Jiao raised its claw, the Great Lord let out a loud shout, and fiercely stabbed its unbelievably long fingernails into the Fat Jiao’s body.

Ye Qing had seen the Great Lord in action before. His nails, as deceptively long as they were, were incredibly sharp, almost like a Famed Instrument. Moments ago, he managed to kill two Giant Snakes up on the open ground, demonstrating the power of his nails. This time, the nails went for the Fat Jiao’s body, so wouldn’t the Fat Jiao suffer?

However, Ye Qing’s worry proved to be completely unnecessary. The Great Lord’s fingernails stabbed into the Fat Jiao’s body but failed to pierce its scales, as if they were going into a steel plate, only sliding off and leaving a few white marks on the scales without harming the Fat Jiao in the slightest. The strength of the Fat Jiao’s scales was comparable to a Famed Instrument; even a standard Famed Instrument might not be able to slice through these scales.

Nevertheless, this move by the Great Lord directly attracted the attention of the Fat Jiao. In Mount Wendao, the Fat Jiao was a tyrant, with neither human nor beast daring to challenge it or strike at it. It was already furious from being trapped by the net on the open ground, and had it not been chasing Ye Qing down, it would have slaughtered those foreigners above long ago. Now, with the Great Lord striking at it from behind, the Fat Jiao’s anger was unimaginable. It no longer paid attention to the person falling in front but turned immediately to seize the Great Lord.

The Great Lord had already battled the Fat Jiao earlier and naturally knew how terrifying its strength and speed were, so he was ready. Seeing the Fat Jiao charging at him, he turned around immediately to escape, not daring to confront the Fat Jiao head-on, merely hoping to lure the Fat Jiao away to protect his teammates first.

The Great Lord was already incredibly fast, and being prepared, coupled with the fact that he was focused solely on escaping, he managed to evade several of the Fat Jiao’s attacks. Though each dodge was narrowly achieved, at least he was able to buy time, allowing his people to fall down from the cave one after another, thus gaining them precious time. Of course, he understood clearly that if things continued this way, his life would surely be left behind here. Judging by his pace, he estimated that within three to five minutes, he would be struck by the Fat Jiao’s claws.

The people falling down saw this happening and were all taken aback. The Great Lord was the strongest among them, yet he was being forced into a situation where he could only flee for his life with no ability to strike back. This demonstrated the overwhelming power of the Fat Jiao. Seeing things this way, even if they worked together, going against the Fat Jiao felt akin to suicide; there was no way they could defeat this Fat Jiao. Thus, they stood by, momentarily at a loss for what to do.

”What are you standing there for?” Seeing everyone standing still, the Great Lord was deeply anxious and shouted, ”Quickly search inside the cave! There’s definitely something crucial inside this cave that it specially cares about; otherwise, it wouldn’t be in such a hurry!”

The Great Lord was indeed astute. That Fat Jiao was evidently enraged earlier and looked poised to kill them. However, after Ye Qing fell into the cave, the Fat Jiao immediately let them go, following Ye Qing down, indicating there must be something within the cave of special concern to the Fat Jiao. Hence, the Great Lord instructed the group to disperse and search, not only as a tactic to divert the Fat Jiao’s attention but perhaps even to lure it away, giving him a chance to escape.

Upon hearing the Great Lord’s words, the group did not dare hesitate. They hurriedly spread out to search around. At this moment, Ye Qing, hiding at the cave entrance, knew that he couldn’t avoid detection with so many people spreading out. They would undoubtedly find him, which would be dangerous for him. Thus, Ye Qing could not continue watching and quickly got up, moving deeper into the cave. However, after taking just two steps, he accidentally tripped over a protruding rock. Luckily, his reflexes were quick enough to catch himself on a rock nearby, preventing a fall, though the motion caused a slight noise.

The Great Lord and the Fat Jiao both heard the noise from the cave simultaneously, with the Fat Jiao instantly abandoning the pursuit of the Great Lord and rapidly heading towards the cave. Judging by its expression, the Fat Jiao was evidently very anxious.

The Great Lord had been cornered by the Fat Jiao with nowhere to hide, but the noise from the cave unexpectedly attracted the Fat Jiao away, allowing the Great Lord to narrowly escape death and preserve his life. He stood aside, panting heavily, watching the Fat Jiao speedily rush toward the cave, feeling deeply shocked.

At this moment in the cave, Ye Qing also saw the Fat Jiao charging over, which gave him quite a scare. In such a situation, Ye Qing dared not hesitate for a moment, and quickly started running toward the depths of the cave. Right now, he didn’t care if there were any traps inside the cave, because the most terrifying thing was the Fat Jiao behind him!

The foreigners who had originally planned to scatter and search saw the Fat Jiao rushing toward the cave, and they were all bewildered. However, no one dared to stop the Fat Jiao in the slightest, and once it ran far away, they hurriedly gathered around the Great Lord.

”Great Lord, what should we do now?” An old man asked tremblingly, having seen the corpse of the Red-robed Archbishop floating in the water, and naturally knowing that the Fat Jiao had killed the Red-robed Archbishop, he was even more fearful of the Fat Jiao’s power.

”Judging by this, there must be something inside that cave that the Fat Jiao is particularly concerned about!” The Great Lord looked at the cave over there, furrowing his brows tightly and said in a deep voice, ”Should we go in and take a look?”

Everyone was looking at each other, having witnessed the Fat Jiao’s power earlier, who dared to chase after it at this time?

”Great Lord, the power of this Jiao is simply too terrifying. All of us together probably wouldn’t survive a single attack from it. No matter what is inside that cave, even if we get to see it, we probably won’t make it out alive…” An old man looked at the Great Lord and said in a low voice, ”Great Lord, in my opinion, we should take this opportunity to quickly leave the cave along the water flow. If we wait any longer, when the Jiao comes out, we’ll all die here!”

The old man’s words were immediately supported by the others, and everyone shared the same opinion as him. After witnessing the terrifying power of the Fat Jiao, they all just wanted to leave this place quickly, who would dare linger here for even a moment?

In fact, the Great Lord’s heart was also very hesitant. He had dealt with the Fat Jiao before and knew best how terrifyingly powerful it was. The life-threatening experience just now nearly cost him his life, and he still felt lingering fears. So, he also didn’t dare to pursue further. Hearing the others say this, he agreed accordingly, leading everyone hurriedly along the direction of the underground river, naturally not daring to stay in the cave for even a moment. If they waited until the Fat Jiao came out, they would have no chance to escape!

Inside the cave, Ye Qing was naturally unaware of the situation outside. He was running frantically along the cave, just wanting to escape the pursuit of the Fat Jiao behind him. However, his speed was truly far inferior to that of the Fat Jiao. After running for a short distance, the Fat Jiao caught up, now less than ten meters away from him, making Ye Qing’s heart thump with anxiety. The seemingly bulky paws of the Fat Jiao could support its hefty body to run so quickly, how could one not be astonished?

Seeing the Fat Jiao getting closer and closer, Ye Qing was exceedingly anxious but couldn’t change anything himself. Just as the Fat Jiao was about to catch up, a corner suddenly appeared ahead. Ye Qing didn’t even think about it, directly turning into the corner, entering a small Stone Chamber.

Entering this Stone Chamber, Ye Qing also cried out in despair; there was no road further behind the chamber. In other words, he was now completely trapped by the Fat Jiao inside this Stone Chamber, truly done for this time.

At this point, the Fat Jiao had already charged to the entrance of the Stone Chamber. It blocked the Stone Chamber’s doorway, staring intently at Ye Qing, its eyes full of vigilance, as if extremely wary of Ye Qing. Even though it had trapped Ye Qing inside the Stone Chamber, it didn’t pursue inside, just stood at the entrance, who knows what was on its mind.

Ye Qing originally thought the Fat Jiao would come in and kill him directly, but didn’t expect it to block the entrance without entering, which surprised Ye Qing. After a moment of confrontation between the person and the Jiao, seeing the Fat Jiao truly not coming in, Ye Qing slightly breathed a sigh of relief. He turned his head, looking around, clearly observing the situation in the Stone Chamber.

This Stone Chamber was very simple, with nothing around, only a square meter, half a meter high Stone Platform in the center. Ye Qing walked over to inspect it, observing that the surface of the Stone Platform was smooth and flat, looking as if someone had sat on it for many years, polishing it into this state.

Seeing Ye Qing staring at the Stone Platform, the Fat Jiao’s eyes became noticeably more vigilant, staring straight at Ye Qing, as if nervously guarding against something. It was as if this Stone Platform had some particularly special characteristic, making it extremely concerned.
