Urban Martial Saint

Du Canglang originally stood in front of the person sitting cross-legged, but his attention was always outside, and he didn’t see any movement from the person sitting cross-legged.

Seeing Ye Qing getting caught, Du Canglang’s face changed drastically, and he wanted to go out to rescue him. Unexpectedly, the person sitting cross-legged suddenly stood up and spoke, which really startled Du Canglang. He instinctively took a few steps back, warily watching this person, fearing that he was as terrifying a master as the Immortal Lord, which would be dangerous.

As for the Immortal Lord, when he saw this person stand up and heard him speak, he visibly shuddered, as if he was completely frightened.

Fortunately, this person ignored Du Canglang. He calmly turned around, looking at the Immortal Lord who had already exited the secret chamber, and said, ”Immortal Lord, it’s been a hundred years, and your thirst for killing still cannot be extinguished. Do you not know that good deeds are rewarded, and evil deeds bring retribution? Immortal Lord, your retribution is about to be fulfilled!”

Du Canglang looked at this person, only to see him wearing an ordinary long robe, yet his figure was extremely tall. His hair hung down on both sides, falling straight onto his shoulders, looking as hard and shiny as metal. In the darkness, his appearance was unclear. However, standing there, he gave off a sense of etherealness, as if everything seemed unreal, and he himself seemed like an illusion!

Seeing this person stand up, the Immortal Lord simply stopped trying to escape. Holding Ye Qing, he stood at the entrance of the secret chamber, looked up, and laughed loudly, ”Retribution? Retribution? Hmph, you people from the Taoist Sect just love to talk about such nonsense. Let me tell you, in this world, strength is respected; with strength, there is no such thing as karmic retribution. Wuji, you and I have been confronting each other here for a hundred years, yet you couldn’t kill me. In the future, who else can kill me, the Immortal Lord?”

”Wuji!?” Ye Qing and Du Canglang exclaimed at the same time, both looking towards the person in the secret chamber.

This person was actually Taoist Wuji?

Buddhist Shakya and Taoist Wuji have been the most eminent figures of the Buddhist and Taoist sects for over two hundred years. Many have seen Buddhist Shakya, but many have only heard the name Taoist Wuji without ever seeing him in person, truly like seeing the head of a Divine Dragon but not its tail. Who would have thought that here, they would actually encounter the top figure of the Taoist sect!

Wuji showed no change in response to everyone’s exclamations; he looked at the Immortal Lord outside and said, ”The fact that I don’t kill you does not mean that no one will kill you in this world. Immortal Lord, you have committed countless evils, and your sins are deep. When retribution comes, there will be no escape. If you can let go of all obsessions now and never step out of this Gate of the Dead for the rest of your life, you might have a slim chance of survival. But if you insist on being obstinate, there will definitely be someone in this world who will punish you!”

”Spare me your nonsense,” the Immortal Lord said coldly. ”I want to see who in this world can kill me, the Immortal Lord! Wuji, you’ve sat there for a hundred years, and your inner strength has dissipated. I’m different; as I came out just now, I’ve absorbed enough power. Hmph, today, I’ll first kill you and then wipe out you, the number one of the Taoist sect!”

As he spoke, the Immortal Lord suddenly reached out towards Wuji horizontally. The Immortal Lord’s strength was truly terrifying; this move crossed the air, only producing a whistling sound of air being torn. The strong vigor power forced Wen’er, who was beside Wuji, to close her eyes. Even though this move wasn’t directed at her, it still made her extremely fearful and terrified.

Du Canglang took a step back, realizing that the Immortal Lord’s strength was even more formidable than he had anticipated. This attack was indeed astonishing in power. If he were to catch someone, it would undoubtedly be certain death. But how would Wuji resist this move? Wuji had been sitting here cross-legged for a hundred years, surely exhausting his former strength without any new power to replenish it. How could he withstand this blow?

Looking at Wuji again, his expression remained calm, gazing directly as the Immortal Lord’s strike approached, without any intention of defending or dodging, as if he was going to take it head-on.

Seeing Wuji like this, the Immortal Lord became even more furious, believing Wuji was completely underestimating him, and shouted angrily, ”Wuji, you dare take my strike head-on, I will make you die!”

In the midst of speaking, the Immortal Lord had already rushed in front of Wuji, and the moment his hand was about to grab Wuji, Ye Qing, whom he was holding, felt the power within him suddenly become rampant, as if stimulated by an external force, and simultaneously surged out from within him.

As the Immortal Lord was holding Ye Qing, with Ye Qing’s power erupting, he bore the brunt of it. The powerful forces of the Buddha’s Relic and the Devouring Demon Flower surged onto him simultaneously. Before the Immortal Lord could grasp Wuji, he was hit by the dual forces from within Ye Qing, causing him to be instantly flung back, crashing through two walls before finally stopping. When he staggered to his feet, the front of his clothes was already soaked with blood.

”How...how could this happen?” The Immortal Lord was filled with astonishment, staring at Ye Qing and said in a deep voice, ”What...what martial arts have you been practicing?”

Even Ye Qing himself was bewildered; the power of the Buddha’s Relic and the Devouring Demon Flower were originally at a standoff. However, why did they suddenly become violent and simultaneously surge out? It’s known that Ye Qing himself couldn’t manipulate these two forces, which would only react to external forces. Yet, just now Ye Qing sensed nothing, and these two powerful forces simultaneously assaulted the Immortal Lord. What on earth is going on here?

No one answered the Immortal Lord’s question, and Wuji slowly emerged from the secret chamber to stand beside Ye Qing. He glanced at Ye Qing, then at the Immortal Lord, and said, ”Today’s defeat is an example. Immortal Lord, the bitter sea has no bounds; turn back and find the shore!”

”I don’t care to listen to your nonsense!” the Immortal Lord roared madly, suddenly gritting his teeth and charging once more towards Wuji. This time, he intentionally bypassed Ye Qing, having suffered losses twice at Ye Qing’s hands. Why would he take a third loss? This time, he aimed to bypass Ye Qing and kill Wuji directly.

But just as he was about to reach Wuji, Wuji’s right hand casually trembled, drawing an arc in the air. Without visible movement, a sudden loud bang emanated from the secret chamber behind him. Immediately, a scarlet longsword flew out from the chamber, like a Divine Dragon, encircling Wuji.

Seeing the scarlet longsword, the Immortal Lord seemed like he’d seen a ghost, letting out a wail. He hadn’t reached Wuji yet, and turned to flee outside in a mad rush, without the slightest hesitation or lingering, as if fleeing for his life.

Ye Qing stared in amazement at that scarlet longsword, not expecting that its mere appearance could scare the Immortal Lord away. What was the origin of this scarlet longsword, and why was the Immortal Lord so fearful of it?

Du Canglang in the secret chamber looked at the scarlet longsword, and was stupefied. After a long silence, he slowly spat out three words: ”Tianzhu Sword!”

”Tianzhu Sword?” Ye Qing stared aghast at the scarlet longsword, realizing it was indeed the Tianzhu Sword. No wonder the Immortal Lord was driven away, for within this Tianzhu Sword lies ninety percent of the Master Duwang’s power, enough to slay the Immortal Lord!

Seeing the Immortal Lord escape, Wuji didn’t pursue him, instead gently sighed, flicking his wrist, sending the Tianzhu Sword back to the secret chamber. Ye Qing finally saw clearly that inside the chamber was a box about one foot wide and three feet long, with the Tianzhu Sword concealed within.

Du Canglang and Ye Qing stared at Wuji in astonishment, though Du Canglang practiced an altered version of the Tianzhu Sword Technique, with content not far off from the authentic Tianzhu Sword Technique. Including the method of controlling the sword with qi, which is documented in the Tianzhu Sword Technique. However, the technique clearly states that the method of controlling the sword with qi requires great strength, even peak strength may not suffice. Yet, Wuji’s seemingly effortless maneuver to summon and send the Tianzhu Sword reveals his strength likely surpassing the peak.

Du Canglang came to the Doomsday Sect seeking the Tianzhu Sword. But now, seeing Wuji so adeptly controlling the Tianzhu Sword, he was utterly hopeless, knowing that with the Tianzhu Sword in Wuji’s hands, no matter how strong he was, he couldn’t possibly obtain the Tianzhu Sword.

After returning the Tianzhu Sword to the secret chamber, Wuji did not leave but stood silently on the spot. The crowd didn’t know what he was thinking, but with Wuji standing there, none dared to leave rashly.

Of course, Ye Qing was no longer worried as before. Wuji was the foremost figure of the Taoist Sect, and regardless of anything, he was definitely not an evil character. With him here, Ye Qing was at least safe now.

Actually, Ye Qing was completely overthinking it. After he saved Du Canglang’s life earlier, Du Canglang no longer intended to deal with him. And now, Du Canglang was more astounded by Wuji and the Immortal Lord’s appearance. With these two coming forth, the world would only become more chaotic. Even someone like Du Canglang could probably only protect himself in this tumultuous era. Moreover, Du Canglang had lost an arm, no longer holding his former strength, and would never have the qualification to vie for dominance.

Wuji stood quietly for almost two hours, then lightly sighed and turned his gaze across the scene, finally fixing his attention on Ye Qing. After a moment of silence, he beckoned to Ye Qing, saying, ”Young man, come over here.”

Faced with the top person in the Taoist Sect, Ye Qing couldn’t refuse and went straight to Wuji. He was quite perplexed, not knowing why Wuji was calling him.

Wuji stared at Ye Qing for a long while, then suddenly sighed: ”Young man, your days are numbered, you know?”
