Urban Martial Saint

With this new reward, everyone naturally felt enthusiastic. After lunch, upon Du Canglang’s command, they all rushed into the canyon to search for the Heaven Execution Sword.

Du Canglang walked behind with Ye Qing and Wen’er, not worried about these people taking the Heaven Execution Sword for themselves because, without the Tianzhu Sword Technique, it could not be wielded. Even if they obtained the sword, without the technique, it was useless. Moreover, considering Du Canglang’s strength, the sword was meaningless in the hands of others when facing him.

Entering the canyon, a spacious open area was the first to catch the eye. This area spanned several hundred acres, with a massive pond in the center. A creek trickled down from the mountain, flowed through the pond, and exited from another small stream.

”Why is there water coming down from the mountain?” Wen’er asked curiously.

”There’s nothing strange about it,” Du Canglang replied, looking up at the mountain peak that pierced the clouds. ”This mountain is at a high altitude, and being in the North, it has snow year-round. When the snow melts, it forms these streams. Since the Doomsday Sect is built halfway up the mountain, they’ve certainly solved their water supply issue, likely using the meltwater.”

Behind the pond lay a cluster of ancient buildings, untouched for many years and covered in dust. Various plants grew around and even on the rooftops, almost burying the ancient structures. At first glance, one might not notice the buildings at all but rather see a continuous stretch of green.

People from the Wanyan Family and foreigners had already reached the ancient structures, uncovering a plaque from the branches displaying the words ’Doomsday Sect.’ Undoubtedly, these were the remnants of the sect’s original location!

The others raced into the buildings in search of the Heaven Execution Sword, eager to claim credit. Du Canglang felt no urgency, as these people would do the searching for him, sparing his effort. Besides, as far as he knew, the Doomsday Sect had no traps inside, and with no one in there, the search posed no danger.

Ye Qing and Wen’er followed behind, observing the ancient structures of the Doomsday Sect. Ye Qing felt an indescribable sensation. The power of the Buddha Bone Relic and the Devouring Demon Flower inside him seemed eager to break free.

The powers of the Buddha Bone Relic and the Devouring Demon Flower clashed inside Ye Qing every day, nearly turning his body into a battlefield. However, this only occurred once daily. The last episode was just four or five hours ago, meaning it shouldn’t happen again for at least another twenty hours. So why were these two forces suddenly stirring again?

The closer they got to the ancient buildings, the stronger the sensation became. Eventually, the power of the Buddha Bone Relic erupted, its immense force rampaging through Ye Qing’s body, tearing him apart.

Though Ye Qing had experienced this power before, making him accustomed to it, when it fully surged this time, the immense pain caused him to pause momentarily, furrowing his brow.

Wen’er, next to Ye Qing, noticed his discomfort and quickly asked with concern, ”Brother Ye, what’s wrong?”

Du Canglang also looked over and, recognizing Ye Qing’s state, knew it was the Buddha Bone Relic’s power acting up, as he had been with Ye Qing for days and was aware of his condition.

”Buddha Bone Relic!” Du Canglang focused on the relic in Ye Qing’s right palm, his eyes gleaming with determination. ”It won’t be long before I can help you relieve this suffering!”

Ye Qing ignored Du Canglang, clenching his left hand tightly. The second Buddha Bone Relic in his left hand was a secret Du Canglang wasn’t aware of. He stood still, waiting for the power of the Devouring Demon Flower to appear and contend with the Buddha Bone Relic, gradually diminishing the pain within him.

”Phew.” Ye Qing exhaled, murmuring, ”Strange, why did the Buddha Bone Relic’s power suddenly flare up this time?”

”Indeed,” Du Canglang replied, puzzled. ”The last time it happened was just four or five hours ago, wasn’t it? Could it be that the Buddha Bone Relic’s power will act up more frequently now?”

Ye Qing remained silent, doubting the Buddha Bone Relic would change its pattern of surging. There must be some cause behind this sudden eruption, likely external stimuli. When Ye Qing consumed the Devouring Demon Flower previously, it triggered the Buddha Bone Relic, causing an early outbreak. Also, when he encountered the Broom Star earlier, the relic’s power awakened by the Purple Lotus Karma Fire, attempted a rampage but was suppressed by the Broom Star.

From these experiences, Ye Qing understood the relic’s eruptions were predictable but could occur irregularly if provoked externally. What in this canyon had provoked the Buddha Bone Relic?

Once the Buddha Bone Relic and the Devouring Demon Flower’s powers clashed, Ye Qing felt no more pain. He took a deep breath, looked toward the ancient buildings ahead, and said, ”Let’s go, take a look inside.”

”Brother Ye, are you okay? Can you walk?” Wen’er asked anxiously, knowing about the relic inside him and its painful episodes.

”It’s fine,” Ye Qing nodded at her. ”The power is gradually dissipating, don’t worry too much.”

Seeing Ye Qing calm, Wen’er sighed in relief. Supporting him, they walked toward the ancient structures ahead.

Du Canglang walked beside them, eyes still gleaming as he gazed at Ye Qing’s right hand. The Buddha Bone Relic was something he’d long desired. Now, close to obtaining it, how could he remain composed?

Though the Buddha Bone Relic’s power hadn’t dissipated within Ye Qing, it had gathered, unlike previous experiences. Though contending with the Devouring Demon Flower’s power, they weren’t directly clashing; instead, both powers seemed to brace for something unseen—an unprecedented occurrence for Ye Qing, telling him the Doomsday Sect harbored something intriguing these forces in him.

The door to the Doomsday Sect had been opened by those who entered previously. Following them, Ye Qing and the others stepped into the sect.

Upon entering, a dust-laden air made the three instinctively cover their noses and mouths. After a while, they adapted to the environment, noticing the thick layer of dust covering everything.

Inside the gate was a room with another door at the end, through which lay the sect’s heart. The room was spacious, furnished with tables and chairs that time had left rotting and decrepit. The dust seemed to mock the sect’s former glory.

This room had been searched, footprints evident around it, indicating the Heaven Execution Sword wasn’t here. The three didn’t linger but passed through to the Doomsday Sect’s courtyard.

The courtyard was extensive, resembling ancient quadrangles. Yet, it was so large, with so many surrounding rooms, it felt like a rectangular estate.

The others, upon reaching the courtyard, scattered to search each room for the Heaven Execution Sword. Though they numbered over a dozen, the courtyard held sixty to seventy rooms, making a thorough search daunting.

Du Canglang scanned the surrounding rooms, his gaze settling on the central hall. Undoubtedly, it was the sect’s main hall.

The three headed straight for the hall, bypassing other rooms. After all, with others hunting for the Heaven Execution Sword, there was no need for them to join the search.

The hall was grander than the other rooms, its interior simple and unadorned. However, overturned and shattered furniture, dust-laden, spoke of a past fierce battle. What remained of the furniture was largely incomplete.

Observing the state of the furniture, Du Canglang’s expression changed markedly. After inspecting the pieces, he took a deep breath and said solemnly, ”Truly, masters!”

”What masters?” Ye Qing asked, sensing the two powers within him increasingly aligned defensively. Wondering what this meant, he heard Du Canglang’s remark and quickly sought clarification.

”The ones who fought here were all masters,” Du Canglang explained gravely.

”How can you tell?” Ye Qing asked, curious about Du Canglang’s ability to discern this after so many years.

”Look over there.” Du Canglang pointed to a massive stone pillar inside the hall.
