Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing moved with lightning speed, leaving the old man no time to react. With a few gestures, the old man spat out several mouthfuls of black blood.

Beside him, Yelu Ying and the young man’s expressions changed, quickly trying to intervene, but it was already too late.

”What are you doing?” Yelu Ying asked anxiously, thinking Ye Qing was attacking the old man.

The young man clenched his fists, looking poised to fiercely confront Ye Qing.

”It’s okay!” The old man repressed his bloody coughs and stopped Yelu Ying and the young man, saying, ”I’m fine. This young man helped to unblock my meridians, expelling the congealed blood... The internal injuries are already much healed!”

Yelu Ying and the young man were taken aback; who would have expected that Ye Qing’s simple gestures could heal the old man’s prolonged injury so substantially? Ye Qing’s moves were truly extraordinary!

”This young man is truly an eye-opener for an old fellow like me!” The old man stared excitedly at Ye Qing, saying, ”Young man, you’re still so young, yet possess such martial arts skills, and such exceptional healing abilities. You’re truly a peerless talent. May I ask which great master you are apprenticed to?”

Ye Qing looked at the old man, saying, ”Later, I’ll give you a prescription. Once you brew and take it three times, your internal injury will heal completely. Though it’s not fully healed now, with your Inner Strength foundation, you won’t face much trouble traversing this Great Snow Mountain.”

The old man understood this meant Ye Qing didn’t want to reveal his identity. He didn’t press further, nodding, ”Thank you, young man. I am Wu Changming, the steward of the Yelu Family. Today’s assistance from you will never be forgotten by the Yelu Family!”

Ye Qing waved his hand, saying, ”The Wanyan Family reinforcements might arrive soon. You must act wisely on your own. A word of advice: avoid marking your trail with such obvious red silk; it makes it much too easy to find you.”

Yelu Ying blushed; she had left those marks herself. Hearing Ye Qing’s words made her feel incredibly embarrassed.

”Thank you for the reminder, young man. We will definitely be more cautious!” Wu Changming nodded.

Ye Qing didn’t say more, handed a prescription to Wu Changming, and directly turned to descend the mountain.

Meanwhile, Yelu Ying and the others watched Ye Qing depart. The young man quickly turned to Wu Changming, asking, ”Master, could this person be someone sent by the Wanyan Family to deceive us?”

”Unlikely!” Wu Changming shook his head, saying, ”Judging by his moves, there was some Bajiquan technique, likely related to the Northern Li Family.”

”Northern Li Family?” Yelu Ying furrowed her brows, saying, ”We have no entanglements with the Northern Li Family, so why would he come to our aid?”

”Perhaps it really was a case of drawing the sword for justice, or perhaps he truly has a grudge against the Wanyan Family!” Wu Changming waved his hand, saying, ”Enough talk for now. The Wanyan Family reinforcements might arrive soon, we must hurry.”

The young man looked up at the distant Great Snow Mountain, asking, ”Master, can we really find the legendary Xuanyuan Sword?”

”Ever since Emperor fought against the Central Plains, Xuanyuan Sword hasn’t been seen again. For thousands of years, many have heard of this top sword of the world, but no one has actually seen it!” Wu Changming said softly, ”We’re not here to search for Xuanyuan Sword. According to the Yelu Family’s ancestral teachings, the fifth-generation Family Head Yelu Tianji once discovered a clue about the Xuanyuan Sword. This journey to the Great Snow Mountain is to return to the Yelu Family’s ancestral tomb and seek clues from Yelu Tianji’s grave. The Yelu Family has fallen to such a dire state, and Xuanyuan Sword is the only hope for our revitalization. Regardless of whether we can find it, we must try. If we can locate Xuanyuan Sword before Heaven Earth Man Three Gates opens, our Yelu Family might secure a place amongst them!”

”Really?” The young man asked with surprise, ”Does Xuanyuan Sword truly possess such power? Can a single sword allow us to confront the Five Unmatches of the World?”

”Humph, the top sword of the world surely isn’t simple!” Wu Changming scoffed coldly, turning to look at Yelu Ying next to him.

Yelu Ying was still absentmindedly staring in the direction Ye Qing left, completely missing Wu Changming’s and the young man’s conversation.

”Miss!” Wu Changming called softly, but Yelu Ying hadn’t returned to her senses. Wu Changming sighed, raising his voice, ”Miss!”

”Ah?” Yelu Ying finally snapped out of it, turning her head, saying urgently, ”Uncle Wu, you... are you alright?”

”I’m fine!” Wu Changming smiled, saying, ”Miss, that person’s gone out of sight, no need to keep looking!”

Yelu Ying’s face turned slightly red, and she said, ”I know, I was just thinking, who exactly is this person? In this Northern Desert, I’ve never heard of anyone daring to oppose the Wanyan Family.”

”Who cares who he is, right now the most important thing for us is to find the ancestral tomb of the Yelu Family!” Wu Changming said, ”Miss, we don’t have much time, we must speed up our way up the mountain. Otherwise, if the Wanyan Family people catch up, we might not have such good luck this time!”

”Alright!” Yelu Ying nodded and said, ”In that case, let’s continue up the mountain.”

Wu Changming nodded. This time he didn’t even need the young man to support him, he directly led the way and walked deep into the Great Snow Mountain.

Climbing up was a bit slow, but coming down was much faster. In less than an hour and a half, Ye Qing could see the Thirteen Li Fortress at the foot of the mountain from afar.

It was also a coincidence, just as Ye Qing arrived here, he saw a group of people bypass the village from afar, heading towards the mountain. This road was relatively open, leaving Ye Qing no chance to hide, and he was directly spotted by the group.

”It’s him!” A loud shout came from that side, recognizable as the voice of the Wanyan Family people from earlier, and the group immediately ran towards Ye Qing.

Ye Qing’s expression changed; he hadn’t expected the Wanyan Family’s reinforcements to arrive so quickly. He dared not hesitate for a moment and turned around immediately to run up the mountain. With so many of them, he certainly wouldn’t fight them head-on.

Sprinting all the way up the mountain, upon reaching the fork in the road, Ye Qing found a big tree and quickly climbed to the top. The ground here was trodden by the few Wanyan Family people earlier. Ye Qing had just walked through it once, so the footprints below were very chaotic. Even if these people caught up, they wouldn’t realize Ye Qing hadn’t gone up the mountain.

Sure enough, the group chased to the fork and without any pause, continued running up the mountain. Although it was a three-pronged fork, the other two paths had no footprints, only this path did, so they had no choice to make.

Watching them run off and disappear, Ye Qing let out a long sigh but began to worry about Yelu Ying and the others above. If this batch from the Wanyan Family couldn’t find him, they might go looking for Yelu Ying and the others, and he didn’t know if they could avoid them.

Ye Qing didn’t plan to stir up more trouble here, so after evading these people, he quietly climbed down the tree and headed down the mountain.

Though it was very dark, everywhere was coated in white snow, making the surroundings rather bright. Ye Qing walked along the mountain path for a while, feeling as if something was following him from behind. He looked back several times but saw nothing. However, as soon as he turned his head forward, the feeling would return, strangely.

This continued until he reached the village entrance of the Thirteen Li Fortress, where the feeling suddenly intensified, as if someone was walking very closely behind him.

Ye Qing took a deep breath, clutched the Wu Hong Dagger in his hand, and suddenly thrust it backward. No matter what was behind, he couldn’t afford to let his guard down in such circumstances.

Just as Ye Qing’s hand extended halfway, a hand grabbed his wrist, immediately holding it down, confirming that there was indeed someone following him.

Given Ye Qing’s strength, not many could hold him down so easily. Still, as the person grabbed his wrist, Ye Qing found he had no power to resist. Alarmed, Ye Qing quickly reached out with his other hand, but the result was the same, being seized again.

”Hehehe…” A cold laugh came through: ”Ye Qing, your skills are good enough to handle young juniors, but they’re of no use to me!”

Upon hearing the voice, Ye Qing’s face changed drastically, for he recognized who it was.

”Northern Martial Zen!” Ye Qing gritted his teeth and said in a deep voice, ”So it’s you!”

The person behind was indeed Northern Martial Zen, who coldly laughed: ”Of course, it’s me. Wanyan Zong, that good-for-nothing, is still at the Shen Family Manor watching his son practice Wing Chun with Shen Tianjun. He would never have imagined I would come to his territory and catch you!”

After the marriage contest ended, most people left immediately, with only a few staying at the Shen Family Manor to have their descendants learn martial arts from Shen Tianjun. Prince Wan Yan mainly stayed in the South, aiming to capture Ye Qing and Handsome Fatty Wang, so he stayed at the Shen Family Manor. Northern Martial Zen had long gone, but no one expected him to come to King Wan Yan of Northern Desert’s territory. Moreover, he came here to wait for Ye Qing, which truly took Ye Qing by surprise.

”How did you know I’d come here?” Ye Qing asked in a deep voice.

”Heh, all sorts of rumors are circulating outside, suggesting that the woman appearing in the Northern Desert is none other than Huangfu Ziyu. With your nature, wouldn’t you come to check it out?” Northern Martial Zen sneered: ”I’ve been here for a while, lying in wait like a cat to a mouse. Hard work pays off, and I did catch you. Tell me, Mr. Ye, am I lucky, or are you unfortunate?”
