Urban Martial Saint

Handsome Fatty Wang nodded with satisfaction and said, ”That’s more like it. If you had said it earlier, wouldn’t it have been fine? You went round and round, babbling on, completely wasting time.”

”...” Ye Qing was speechless. This guy, Handsome Fatty Wang, is way more chatty than others, and he still finds the nerve to say others are being chatty?

”Alright, listen up.” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”Huangfu Ziyu’s news just came out yesterday. Someone saw her in Dongyuan City of the Northern Desert.”

”Dongyuan City of the Northern Desert?” Ye Qing frowned and said solemnly, ”Why would she go there?”

”You ask me, who should I ask?” Handsome Fatty Wang shrugged and said, ”This is the exact news I’ve received; she indeed appeared in Dongyuan City of the Northern Desert. In fact, it’s not just you; I find it very strange too. You see, Huangfu Ziyu has always been mingling in the Southern Six Provinces, how did she suddenly end up in the North? And she even went to the Northern Desert, which is Prince Wan Yan’s territory; what’s she doing there?”

Ye Qing was also thinking about this issue. What on earth brought Huangfu Ziyu to the Northern Desert? And if she wasn’t in danger, why didn’t she contact him? Didn’t she know he was worried about her?

After a long silence, Ye Qing looked up at Handsome Fatty Wang and said solemnly, ”Are you lying to me?”

”Heaven and earth can see my heart!” Handsome Fatty Wang immediately raised his hand, pointing at the light bulb overhead and said, ”I swear by the light, I absolutely did not lie to you. Otherwise, let the light bulb blow and me with it!”

Ye Qing chuckled and said, ”The light bulb isn’t on, and I don’t see you dying.”

”Can you not be so pedantic?” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”What I mean is, my words are absolutely true. I’m daring enough to swear. If you really don’t believe me, call back to Shenchuan City and ask. Your people over there may have received the news by now.”

”Impossible!” Ye Qing said bluntly, ”If they received the news, how could they not inform me?”

”For crying out loud, your phone has been unreachable since yesterday; who can notify you?” Handsome Fatty Wang exclaimed, ”This news just came out yesterday, and I tried calling you, but I couldn’t get through. So I had no choice but to come over here to find you. Otherwise, what do you think I came here for?”

Only then did Ye Qing remember that his phone had indeed been off for a day. Since yesterday, to ensure absolute fairness in the event, several elders had gathered to discuss the matchmaking events. And Ye Qing, along with others participating, were living together with all external communications shut off, including mobile phones. So Ye Qing’s phone had been off for a while now; if the Shenchuan City brothers called him, he wouldn’t have been able to answer.

”Let’s go.” Without another word, Ye Qing immediately took Handsome Fatty Wang back to his residence.

Senior Shen had already given orders to let Ye Qing deal with Handsome Fatty Wang. So even though Ye Qing took Handsome Fatty Wang away, no one stopped him.

Handsome Fatty Wang followed Ye Qing to his room and began looking around sneakily as soon as they entered. Ye Qing didn’t have the time to pay attention to him; he simply picked up the phone on the table, which was still off.

Ye Qing turned on the phone and the first person he called was Li Lianshan.

”Ye Zi, you finally called.” As soon as the call connected, Li Lianshan’s anxious voice came through, ”We’ve received news about Miss Huangfu!”

”What!?” Ye Qing’s expression changed. When Handsome Fatty Wang mentioned it earlier, he was somewhat skeptical. But now that even Li Lianshan said it, he had to believe that the matter was true.

Could it be there’s really news about Huangfu Ziyu? And she went to Dongyuan City of the Northern Desert, Prince Wan Yan’s territory?

”Where is she?” Ye Qing asked urgently.

”We received information yesterday that someone saw her in Dongyuan City of the Northern Desert.” Li Lianshan said, ”I have already sent people there to check whether this is true or false. Ye Zi, how are you now? There’s a rumor outside saying that you participated in Shen Family’s matchmaking and are likely to become their son-in-law. Is it true?”

Ye Qing paused for a moment; he didn’t expect this news to be spread around too. It seems some people are intentionally publicizing his affairs at Shen Family Manor. Ye Qing now just hoped Huangfu Ziyu wouldn’t hear such news; otherwise, what would she think?

”I’ll explain this when I get back.” Ye Qing said solemnly, ”Continue investigating Zi Yu’s matter; I need to know where exactly she is.”

”No problem.” Li Lianshan paused a moment and said, ”When are you returning to Shenchuan City?”

”I’ll contact you in advance when I return.” Ye Qing whispered, ”Alright, let’s not talk further for now. Contact me if there’s news on Zi Yu.”

After saying this, Ye Qing put down the phone and turned to look at Handsome Fatty Wang, who was on the side, interestedly examining a bag on the table and asked, ”Where did you get the news from?”

”Some old friends heard from others.” Handsome Fatty Wang replied, adding, ”Young Ye, what’s in your bag? It looks quite familiar.”

”It’s the Gold Silk Armor, of course it’s familiar.” Ye Qing didn’t hide anything.

”Oh?” A glint flashed in Handsome Fatty Wang’s eyes, clearly attracted by the Gold Silk Armor.

Ye Qing completely ignored him and asked, ”Is this information reliable?”

”How would I know?” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”But it’s the talk of the town now, so it should be true. Someone has seen her with their own eyes.”

”Who saw her?” Ye Qing pressed.

”A local thug in Dongyuan City, named Wu Dade.” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”It’s said that this guy even tried to harass Huangfu Ziyu, and ended up having his hands and feet broken, almost losing his life. Based on his description and the way she fought, there’s no mistake, it must be the East State Poisonous Mantis!”

Ye Qing was silent for a moment, then said gravely, ”No, I must personally take a trip to the Northern Desert!”

”Are you serious?” Handsome Fatty Wang looked at Ye Qing and said, ”You’re about to get married, and you still want to go to the Northern Desert? If you run off, what about Miss Shen of the Shen Family?”

”If it’s really Zi Yu there, something must have happened to her, otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone so far, nor would she not contact me.” Ye Qing said in a deep voice, ”I must go and find out what happened to her, I need to bring her back!”

”Truly a real man, just like Fat Lord.” Handsome Fatty Wang clapped his hands and said, ”In that case, I wish you every success!”

Ye Qing: ”Stop wasting words, you have to come with me too!”

”Why should I?” Handsome Fatty Wang glared and said, ”If you want to go, go, why drag me into it?”

”Because I’m not familiar with the Northern Desert!” Ye Qing replied.

”Damn it, as if I’m familiar with the Northern Desert either.” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”I’m not familiar with it either, besides, you’re going to find your girl, what’s it got to do with me? I’m telling you, don’t try to drag Fat Lord into this, Fat Lord wants to live a few more years.”

”No matter what you say, you must come with me this time!” Ye Qing said.

”Why?” Handsome Fatty Wang said.

Ye Qing waved his fists: ”Because of these!”

”Alright then.” Handsome Fatty Wang immediately gave in and said, ”If you’re really going to the Northern Desert, then I suggest you hurry. Take care of matters while Prince Wan Yan is still at Shen Family Manor and hasn’t returned to the Northern Desert. Otherwise, once Prince Wan Yan goes back, both of us could get stuck there.”

Ye Qing nodded and said, ”Then I’ll inform Senior Shen.”

”Damn, are you crazy?” Handsome Fatty Wang said, ”What are you telling him for? I just said, the most important thing here is not to alert the enemy, not to let Prince Wan Yan know in advance. Otherwise, he’ll definitely use all his power to stop us. So, if we’re going, we should do it quietly without telling anyone. That way, by the time they realize we’ve left, they won’t know where we’ve gone, and Prince Wan Yan won’t expect us to head to his territory, right?”

Ye Qing pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded and said, ”You’re right, we should sneak out of Shen Family Manor quietly without anyone knowing. But it’s not suitable to leave during the day; we’ll go at night, then we can slip away.”

”That’s up to you.” Handsome Fatty Wang went to lie down on the sofa and said, ”Let’s stop talking rubbish for now, Fat Lord hasn’t eaten much for a few days. Hurry up, get Fat Lord some food, otherwise, when evening comes, Fat Lord won’t have the strength to run with you!”

Ye Qing ordered some food for Handsome Fatty Wang. The guy really seemed like he hadn’t eaten in days, consuming two bowls of rice before he was satisfied. After eating, he went to sleep.

Watching Handsome Fatty Wang snoring on the bed, Ye Qing frowned slightly. Handsome Fatty Wang’s sudden appearance here left Ye Qing with more doubts rather than reassurance. His intuition told him this matter was definitely not that simple. With a person like Handsome Fatty Wang, not seeking revenge was already surprising; he definitely wouldn’t come just to inform Ye Qing about Huangfu Ziyu. Therefore, Handsome Fatty Wang’s visit to Shen Family Manor must have other motives.

Earlier, Ye Qing brought him to this room to test him. As soon as Handsome Fatty Wang entered, his attention was completely captured by the Gold Silk Armor, indicating that his purpose in coming to Shen Family Manor was most likely related to it. From this, it’s clear that Handsome Fatty Wang is a greedy person; even in such circumstances, he dared to covet the Gold Silk Armor.

Ye Qing noticed Handsome Fatty Wang’s intentions but said nothing, pretending not to know. Previously, he didn’t know what to do with the Gold Silk Armor, with Prince Wan Yan always watching him. Leaving it anywhere was inappropriate. Now, with Handsome Fatty Wang suddenly showing up, an idea began to form in Ye Qing’s mind.
