Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 491: Chapter 471: The Dormitory Struggle (Part 10)

”Wait, Luo Qianqian!” After class, when Luo Qianqian was about to leave, she was stopped by a voice as soon as she stood up, it was Xi Meng.

”What’s up?” Luo Qianqian halted, looking at Sun Bin who was following behind Xi Meng with speechlessness. Were they looking for a confrontation?

”Did you get a boyfriend? Does Chang Xi know about it?” Xi Meng had an elder’s air about him, which made Luo Qianqian furrow her brows.

”First of all, Chang Xi is my friend but not my elder, we’re peers; secondly, whether I’m dating or not is none of your business, do I have to listen to you? And lastly, do you think I’m a fool, unable to tell sincerity from pretense?” Luo Qianqian finished speaking, picked up her bag, turned around, and left without giving Xi Meng another glance.

Xi Meng’s face was full of embarrassment, and just as he turned to say something to Elvis, who was standing aside frowning, Elvis stood up, walked over to Luo Qianqian’s seat, and Xi Meng involuntarily took two steps back. But Elvis didn’t do anything, he just picked up the umbrella that had fallen on the ground, shook it out a couple of times, and left the classroom.

A few drops of water landed on Xi Meng’s shoes, but he just frowned slightly.

When the blond youth bent down to reach for something, his wristwatch was exposed. Xi Meng remembered seeing it in a magazine during the holiday; the price was out of his league. Who exactly was this person?

Luo Qianqian arrived at the entrance of the teaching building and frowned slightly at the raindrops still dripping from the sky.

Just then, a dry black umbrella was handed to her. ”You use it first,” said Professor Yue Xiluo.

Luo Qianqian waved her hand: ”I brought an umbrella, just forgot it in the classroom, thanks, teacher.”

”You’re welcome.” Hearing her say that, Yue Xiluo retracted his own umbrella, glanced at the blond young man walking towards the entrance, and smiled, ”Is it that green umbrella? It looks like someone has already delivered it to you, then I’ll be leaving first.” After saying this, Yue Xiluo took his umbrella and entered the teaching building.

Luo Qianqian turned around and saw Elvis, who walked past Yue Xiluo in the corridor.

”Here you go,” Elvis handed her the umbrella: ”Lucky I made it in time.”

Luo Qianqian laughed: ”Did you think I was going to walk back in the rain?” She then pointed in the direction that Yue Xiluo had left, ”That man is also one of our teachers, a really nice person.”

Although she said this, there was a hint of puzzlement in her eyes.

Yue Xiluo had felt somewhat familiar to her just now.

”Oh, I see, got it,” said Elvis, nodding with a captivating smile: ”See you in a bit.” With that, he returned to the teaching building.

Luo Qianqian was taken aback and nodded.

She had another class in half an hour.

Luo Qianqian decided to go back to her dorm during this time. She was too agitated to stay in the classroom, wondering if she had done something terribly wrong, as everyone seemed to be questioning her with such an attitude?

Back in the dorm, Qin Nuan and the others weren’t there because they all had afternoon classes, which was normal.

There were a stack of letters on the desk, and Luo Qianqian flipped through them; most were for Qin Nuan and Cong Rong, but there were also ones for Cao Yingying, Zhang Yun, and Xiu Ran. None for her, though.

This wasn’t surprising since those who knew her room number could call her directly, and she wasn’t too concerned about those who didn’t know it.

In this age of advanced communication, the only thing worth writing letters for would be love letters, right?

Luo Qianqian got a bit gossipy, tidying up everyone’s letters, noting that Cong Rong’s pile was the largest, and Xiu Ran’s was the smallest. No, to be precise, hers were the least. But looking at the addresses, something didn’t seem right. Why were they all from distant places? She didn’t know about the others, but Qin Nuan definitely hadn’t been to such remote areas.

After pondering for a while and still not understanding, Luo Qianqian stopped thinking, tidied up the things in her bag, and calmly went out again.

Before she even entered the classroom, she saw Elvis holding a black umbrella in front of her and even slowing down his pace as if he had some troubles.

”What’s wrong?” Luo Qianqian walked up and then she knew why.

Elvis held the books in his embrace, ”I have nothing to put them in.”

... ”It’s a good thing you didn’t buy all the books,” Luo Qianqian really wanted to tease him, since Qin Nuan initially had to ask someone to help carry all the books back, including a few notebooks.

”Do I look that stupid?” Elvis smiled, ”Can you help me with the umbrella?”

Luo Qianqian took his umbrella and her expression changed slightly, the handle where one’s hand goes was made of solid wood, and there was a character engraved on it: Luo.

Luo Qianqian paused for a moment, ”This umbrella seems to belong to the professor from earlier?”

”No, it’s from a friend of mine overseas. Someone just delivered it to me,” Elvis smiled, a flash of darkness crossed his eyes but quickly returned to normal.

”Oh.” Luo Qianqian didn’t ask further, just nodded, but this left Elvis quite surprised. Shouldn’t she normally be digging for the bottom of it? How could it be just a simple ’oh’?

”Where are you sitting?” Luo Qianqian entered the classroom, placed her backpack on her usual seat, and Elvis calmly put his books next to hers.

”I’ll just sit here,” Elvis said with an innocuous smile, but Luo Qianqian frowned slightly.

She didn’t switch seats just because someone, who was not only low profile but conspicuous, decided to do so. If he really wanted to follow her, he could have simply watched where she went without drawing so much attention; therefore, Luo Qianqian remained calm.

She listened obediently during class, took notes earnestly, and wasn’t the slightest bit affected by the person next to her, pretending not to hear whatever he said.

If you don’t understand the books, why come to this school? Wouldn’t it be better to go to an international school?

If you can’t write, just listen. Why stare at her???

After class, Luo Qianqian casually handed him the plastic bag she used for water, ”Use this to carry them, so they don’t get wet.” After speaking, she calmly packed her books, took her umbrella, and left without leaving anything that could prompt someone to stop her.

”Luo Qianqian, let’s have dinner together tonight?” The one who said this wasn’t Elvis but Xi Meng.

Luo Qianqian’s steps faltered, leaving the classroom without any pause, just leaving two words floating in the air, ”Not going.”

Elvis couldn’t help but laugh, shaking with his head bowed down. If he couldn’t handle this, how could you be so confident to say such a thing in front of everyone? Aren’t you afraid of losing face?

Xi Meng’s face darkened, he grabbed his bag and chased after her. Upon reaching the entrance of the teaching building, however, he saw Luo Qianqian laughing and talking under Qin Nuan’s umbrella as they walked away into the distance.

Luo Qianqian was exasperated, recounting the day’s events to Qin Nuan, not forgetting to emphasize Xi Meng’s foolishness, ”I really can’t understand his thinking, just because his sister is my friend, does that mean I have to agree? And you’re my good friend too, if Second Brother Qin looks for me... it seems like I would agree, huh?”

Qin Nuan rolled her eyes, ”Nonsense. My brother is practically becoming your brother, acting as a parent, watching kids, and becoming a super nanny.”

”Lu Simiao doesn’t drink milk.” If he was that young, she certainly wouldn’t have brought him back.

”Speaking of which, I also discovered something today,” Qin Nuan suddenly said.
