Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 473: Chapter 453: Luo Yanwu’s Blind Date

After a short chat with Xu Tianyi, Qianqian was urged to sleep and reluctantly hung up the phone to obediently go to bed.

After hanging up the phone, Xu Tianyi, however, made a sour face, ”I say, bro, you don’t look too good.”

”Don’t call me bro, who is your brother?” Luo Shufan glared at him angrily and knocked over a picture frame on his desk. Inside the frame was a girl by the sea, smiling happily, except that someone’s position was covered by a sticky note.

”Boss, will that do? Don’t take it to heart, he’s just worried about matters of your bachelorhood,” said Xu Tianyi, unironically entering into bootlicking mode, even though the object of his flattery was someone he found annoying.

”As if I needed you to tell me? She’s my sister! Don’t even think about going back!!!” After saying this, Luo Shufan scrutinized the email his sister had sent him, furrowing his brow deeply, ”She didn’t mention this just now, did she?”

”What? What?” When Xu Tianyi heard this, he immediately got up close to Luo Shufan, who promptly closed the webpage and said, ”None of your business, get back to work!”

”Oh.” Xu Tianyi shrank back to his seat.

Luo Shufan had a gloomy expression but said no more.

Early the next morning, Luo Qianqian got up, not because she wanted to wake up so early, but because it was too noisy outside.

Unfortunately, it was relatives who were noisy. Luo Qianqian was left speechless - it was exactly Jia Ning and Ye Qianying calling Luo Yanwu to wake up next door.

She took out her phone and saw it was just seven o’clock, and felt upset, ”What’s this about? We clearly agreed to meet for lunch!!!”

After Luo Yanwu was dragged out of his room, Luo Qianqian too opened her door and saw Luo Yanwu, still groggy. She couldn’t help but laugh out loud, ”Second Aunt and Third Aunt, we’re going to have lunch, and really, my elder brother was so excited that he hardly slept last night. Now you won’t let him sleep a bit longer? Wouldn’t it be embarrassing if he dozed off and face-planted into his bowl during the meal?”

Luo Yanwu’s face turned red, devoid of any sleepiness. Although he understood his younger sister was trying to let him sleep longer, the way she said it was embarrassing. What did she mean by ’face-plant into his bowl’???

”He’s already awake now, isn’t he?” Ye Qianying, as his mother, naturally noticed her son’s reaction right after Luo Qianqian’s words. No doubt, this remark made her son completely awake.

Seeing this, Luo Qianqian thought, Ah, he really is awake, seeing his eyes already wide open.

”Then I’ll continue to sleep. I’m definitely not getting up this early when it’s not a date,” Luo Qianqian was about to close the door when Luo Yanwu quickly blocked it.

”Don’t, I’m already up, so join me,” Luo Yanwu said, his tone carrying a hint of seriousness. Luo Qianqian gave him a deep look and said solemnly, ”If it were a date, I’d get up at five, not just seven. But today, it’s just an ordinary meal, so I don’t want to.”

Having said that, she closed the door and lay back in bed, but really couldn’t sleep anymore, feeling a bit like laughing. It was rare to see her usually composed elder brother like this.

After rolling around in bed for a bit, she got up bored, washed up, changed clothes, and then went out to see how her elder brother was being tormented.

”That’s not how you hold a fork! How many times do I have to say it?” Ye Qianying looked somewhat distressed watching Luo Yanwu shove an entire steak into his mouth with his fork, silently lamenting that some things really need to be taught from a young age.

”Second Aunt, we’re going to eat Chinese food, we don’t use forks and knives,” Luo Qianqian immediately said, coming to Luo Yanwu’s rescue.

Seeing Luo Yanwu’s expression, it seemed he had already anticipated this scene, which is why he wouldn’t let her sleep.

”Ah? Aren’t dates nowadays all about going for Western meals?” Jia Ning looked at the two plates of steaks just served, ”Shall I take them back to stir-fry?”

”Don’t make a fuss, he’s grown up, surely he knows some things?” Yue Tingyu was also woken by the noise, looking at the plates on the table, she didn’t need further explanation to know what had happened.

”Strongly agree, Grandma, are you eating? It looks very tender,” Luo Qianqian quickly dragged the elderly lady to the dining table to rescue her third brother, who was being forced by the two aunts to study Western dining etiquette.

Having lived for so many years, Yue Tingyu understood Luo Qianqian’s intentions immediately.

She nodded and looked toward the kitchen, ”I’ll go make you some beef porridge; don’t eat something so greasy early in the morning.”

Then, taking the fried steak back to the kitchen, Luo Qianqian couldn’t help but laugh. Seeing the expressions on the faces of the two aunts, she could only lower her head and shrug her shoulders.

After breakfast was finished and the elderly got up as well, peace was finally restored. To avoid being pulled aside for a lecture, Luo Qianqian decisively took Luo Yanwu upstairs to change their clothes, and then the two of them left the house after nine o’clock. Luo Yanwu drove Luo Qianqian following the car ahead aimlessly, but Luo Qianqian didn’t think this would work and decisively called Qin Nuan, who hadn’t gone home because of this and was staying calmly in the dormitory.

Upon hearing that both of them were out and had tidied up, Qin Nuan immediately agreed and directly arranged to meet at the cinema, so there was no need for Luo Yanwu to pick them up.

Fishing watching a movie and then having a meal wasn’t really off from their original plan, just a matter of sequence.

At the cinema, they casually chose a comedy film, bought four tickets, and then Luo Qianqian and Luo Yanwu began looking for snacks. How could plain popcorn be enough?

With a big bag of chips, jelly, and chocolate, Qin Nuan let them know they had already arrived at the cinema entrance.

Luo Qianqian quickly led everyone upstairs. At the cinema entrance, Qin Nuan wore a ladylike dress which was quite different from her usual attire, leaving Luo Yanwu almost dropping his jaw in astonishment.

However, when his eyes landed on the girl in a white dress standing next to Qin Nuan, he was completely dumbfounded, staring intently at Cong Rong.

Luo Qianqian, noticing her third brother’s dumbfounded look and Cong Rong’s embarrassed blush, could not help but chuckle mightily and yanked Luo Yanwu back to reality. Luo Yanwu quickly collected himself, and then heard Luo Qianqian’s voice, ”Third Brother, wipe your drool; this is my and Sister Nuannuan’s roommate, the sophomore Sister Congrong. I know this sister is beautiful, looking just like a little fairy, but you can’t stare like that; what if you scare her away?”

Luo Yanwu subconsciously touched the corner of his mouth, an action that brought smiles from Qin Nuan and Cong Rong.

”Sister Congrong, this is my third brother, my cousin, not my uncle, Luo Yanwu.”

Cong Rong gave a light smile, gracefully extending her hand, ”Hello, I am Cong Rong.”

”I, I am Luo Yanwu.” Luo Yanwu, usually so composed, had lost all his calm and stuttered as his face reddened, holding Cong Rong’s hand.

So slippery, so tender, so delightful. Luo Qianqian, you really are my dear sister.

”Third Brother, can you be a bit more dignified? Don’t just hold on to the handshake,” Luo Qianqian knew her third brother was very pleased with Cong Rong.

But she didn’t know what Cong Rong’s attitude was?

She stuffed the snacks into Luo Yanwu’s hand and passed him two movie tickets, ”These are your seats; they’re a bit scattered.” Luo Yanwu, suspecting nothing, accepted the tickets. Cong Rong gave Luo Qianqian a lingering look but didn’t refuse. It was only after the two had entered the theater that they realized Luo Qianqian hadn’t followed them, but with a beauty ahead, he no longer cared about his sister.

Soon, both of their phones received a message: We’re going to Hall 3 to watch an animated movie, don’t worry about us.

”This kid!” Luo Yanwu sighed in resignation. Seeing that Cong Rong showed no signs of objection and knowing this was arranged by his sister, he said nothing and found their seats, handing out snacks to Cong Rong one by one. Cong Rong hadn’t even started eating before she was already overwhelmed with laughter, while people around looked on with envy.

”Enough, enough, we’ll pick up more after we eat.”

”Oh.” It was then that Luo Yanwu stopped his motions, inserting a straw into the drink and placing it before Cong Rong.
