Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 484: Chapter 464: The Struggle in the Dormitory (Part 3)

After leaving the library, Luo Qianqian finally let out a sigh of relief. After all, even though she knew that was her own brother, others didn’t. If she had continued to cause a scene, she would have become infamous, but now... it seemed she was already famous.

”What shall we eat later? Let’s go back late,” Qin Nuan was still waiting at the library entrance. She knew Luo Qianqian wasn’t that into computers, so there was no way she would forget the time because of that.

”Let’s invite Cong Rong, Zhang Yun, and Xiu Ran to join us for hot pot,” Luo Qianqian said calmly, ”the kind where we can eat slowly—no rush. I actually wanted to eat barbecue, but looking at your clothes, let’s not. They look like they’d be a hassle to wash.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Nuan looked down at her clothes and rolled her eyes, ”Then hot pot it is. They went to line up to buy doughnuts—heard they’re tasty. Let’s go grab a spot first.” Qin Nuan, who had just split up with Cong Rong, naturally knew the whereabouts of the other roommates.

”By the way, that ’Nuannuan Doesn’t Long for Miracles’...”

”Ah, you discovered my alternate account?” Qin Nuan covered her mouth, with an exaggerated poor acting, causing Luo Qianqian to chuckle.

”I knew it! Who else would have such foresight?” Luo Qianqian shook her head helplessly, with a calm demeanor, ”You should change your nickname to ’Nuannuan is Not Warm at All.’”

”Heh, why don’t you say change it to ’Nuannuan is Kind of Cold’?” Qin Nuan smirked slightly, then immediately understood the teasing in Luo Qianqian’s words.

”That works too...” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes and handed Qin Nuan her library card, ”I’m telling you, I’m going to grow taller.”

”Because of the Flying Little Policewoman?” Qin Nuan immediately got Luo Qianqian’s hint and began to smile unabashedly, ”No worries, no worries. After all, the Flying Little Policewoman is made of beautiful things, isn’t it?”

”Heh, are you saying that I’m not as good as them?” Luo Qianqian snorted and laughed without any sign of anger but then, the next second, she suddenly stopped walking as if she remembered something, ”By the way, which university did your older brother attend?”

”Medical University... Don’t be fooled by how he is now. He used to be a cheeky brat filled with ambition, determined to eradicate all diseases from the world.”

Calling her own brother a cheeky brat—she’s really something else.

”So... do you think I could sit in on some classes? Shouldn’t I learn something for self-defense?” Luo Qianqian deeply realized the power of knowledge after recent events, especially when she knew someone had targeted her but was powerless to find out who it was.

It was quite disheartening.

Qin Nuan paused for a moment, then shook her head, ”I’m afraid that’s not possible. We’re not at the same school. Anyway, you’re still young. You can go to learn after graduation. There’s plenty of time.”

”You make it sound very reasonable...” Luo Qianqian was noncommittal.

Qin Nuan seemed to understand Luo Qianqian’s thoughts and sighed. She was also somewhat scared by the previous incidents. She hadn’t expected such a situation to occur on campus and if she hadn’t been there, the consequences would’ve been unimaginable.

With so many people around, any kind of gossip could have been spread.

Before the two could leave the campus, Cong Rong and the others called to ask what they were going to eat and if they should bring anything.

Only then did the two of them belatedly realize that they had made a decision without informing the others. If not for this call, it would have been...

After agreeing on a location, Luo Qianqian and Qin Nuan quickly headed there. As they arrived at the entrance of the hot pot restaurant, they saw the three others, each holding a box of doughnuts, walking towards them and quickly waved.

”You guys are something else. Did you think to notify us with telepathy?” Zhang Yun was somewhat speechless. After hearing Qin Nuan’s explanation, she was even more at a loss for words. Opening the box of doughnuts, which had six different flavors, she said, ”Let’s see if they’re any good. If they’re tasty, we’ll buy another box later.”

”Half an hour in line...” Xiu Ran didn’t hesitate to pick one up, even though she had her own, but since the packaging had been opened, it couldn’t be restored. They had always shared any food they had in the dorm, never eating alone and always sharing with the room.

Of course, this didn’t include Cao Yingying.

”Qianqian, this one looks good.” Qin Nuan picked up a doughnut and handed it to Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian took the pink doughnut and bit into it, her face lit up with surprise, ”Raspberry flavored?”

”I’ve realized that you like anything with ’berry’ in it,” Qin Nuan said speechlessly, also picking up a doughnut.

When the waiter came to take their order and saw the five girls happily eating doughnuts, he was speechless. Were you here to eat hot pot, but still needed to bring some dry food to snack on?

”Nuannuan, you order.” Luo Qianqian, seated closest to the waiter, casually handed the menu to Qin Nuan. Qin Nuan didn’t hesitate, knowing everyone’s preferences in the dormitory. After placing the order, Qin Nuan, belatedly realizing, said, ”Isn’t that a bit too much?”

”No worries, if we can’t finish, we’ll pack it up for the kittens downstairs,” Luo Qianqian said nonchalantly. ”I’m treating, so don’t think too much about it.”

Qin Nuan didn’t think it was a big deal, but the other three frowned, ”Qianqian, you’re still young, maybe...”

Luo Qianqian interrupted them before they could continue, her smile bright, ”How could I not offer some tangible bribery when I’m an ’outsider’ joining your dorm? Besides, I’ve received the outstanding delegate award, so celebrating a little isn’t too much, is it?”

Qin Nuan was at a loss for words, wondering why everyone was giving her disapproving looks when it was Luo Qianqian who was speaking.

Luo Qianqian noticed the glances and chuckled, ”My future Fourth Sister-in-Law did want to pay, but I refused her. The pocket money I get from home is more than enough, don’t worry.”

Qin Nuan rolled her eyes again. It wasn’t just about the allowance from home; even without it, she’d have enough to spend.

Not to mention An Zilan’s regular monthly transfers, Luo Shufan’s occasional deposits, the Luo Family elders giving cash from time to time, and Jia Ning, who was in charge of Luo Qianqian’s daily expenses, had directly given her a credit card. Plus, her excessively doting brother ensured that Luo Qianqian’s spending money was more than enough for her to squander.

”So you’re not the little mom, huh.” Xiu Ran giggled behind her hand.

Qin Nuan was helpless, ”When did we ever downgrade you? Otherwise, if she keeps calling me ’Nuannuan’ all day long, wouldn’t I have to smack her?”

Luo Qianqian pouted, ”See, she’s already bullying me before I’ve even crossed the threshold.”

This prompted a round of hearty laughter from everyone, and they didn’t dwell further on who was treating to the meal. To them, it was easy enough to return the favor later; after all, it was hard to refuse a child’s good intentions.

They ate heartily, sweating profusely despite the air conditioning, their foreheads glistening with sweat. Who had time to lift their heads and talk when they were enjoying their food so much?

”Qianqian, put some meat in the pot, stop just eating,” Qin Nuan looked up from her bowl and saw that there was hardly any meat left, so she quickly directed Luo Qianqian, who was closest to the meat.

Luo Qianqian complied, dumping an entire plate of meat into the pot.

Just as Qin Nuan was about to say something, her phone rang.

Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Qin Nuan saw the caller ID, put her index finger to her lips, making a ’shush’ sound, and then answered the call, ”Hello? What’s up?”

”Oh, I don’t know, she’s probably gone online, I guess... Well, I don’t know, we’re out eating right now... Yeah, okay.” After hanging up, she said in a low voice, ”Cao Yingying was asking if Qianqian was with me.”

”Hey, you really are like a little mom, huh? Why didn’t you call Qianqian directly?” Zhang Yun spoke with a teasing sneer, using her chopsticks to grab a big clump of meat from the pot and quickly taking a bite.

”Because... she doesn’t have my number,” Luo Qianqian replied calmly, not slowing her motions as she fished all the recently cooked meat out of the pot into her bowl. She added more meat to the pot before continuing, ”Besides, it would have been too obvious if she had called me directly, right?”
