Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 460: Chapter 440: Qin Nuan (13)

Qin Nuan and Luo Qianqian dragged Qin Wen back to the bedroom. Qin Nuan carefully washed a towel and wiped her brother’s face, while Luo Qianqian obediently took off Qin Wen’s shoes and jacket. If it weren’t for her young age, she would undoubtedly be blushing, looking every bit the smitten girl. She was also quite relieved that Qin Wen was a clean person, as his shoes and socks were odorless.

”Sorry for using the scissors directly, he’s your brother after all. What’s there to be shy about?” Qin Nuan said as she watched Luo Qianqian hesitantly eyeing Qin Wen’s half-dressed state. She also secretly admired how, usually unassuming, Second Brother Qin actually had quite decent abs and pecs.

Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes and pointed at Qin Wen’s lifeless pose, ”I’d love to strip him, but can I even get it off?”

No sooner had she spoken than Qin Nuan was brandishing a pair of scissors, and with two snips, a perfectly good shirt was reduced to tatters, easily pulled from beneath Qin Wen.

The commotion roused Luo Yanran, who stared wide-eyed. What were his girlfriend and sister doing to Qin Wen??? He froze at the doorway for a moment.

Luo Qianqian was the first to notice Luo Yanran and quickly called out, ”Fourth Brother, come and help undress Second Brother Qin. It will be uncomfortable for him to sleep like this tomorrow.”

Hearing his sister’s words, Luo Yanran then noticed the unconscious Qin Wen with a flushed face and the casually strewn shoes and socks. His lips twitched as he eyed the scissors in Qin Nuan’s hand, ”Can’t you two ask for help? Have both your brains gone bad?”

”It’s so late now, come on, get moving,” Qin Nuan said as Luo Yanran arrived, putting the scissors back in the drawer and kicking the stuff on the floor into a corner of the room.

Calmly wiping Qin Wen’s face while Luo Yanran was taking off his pants, she then casually used the same towel to wipe his feet, and afterward calmly washed the towel in a basin.

”Is this really okay?” Luo Qianqian couldn’t help but speak out. Qin Nuan had her own towels divided for hands and face, yet how come her brother was treated the same for face, hands, and feet?

”It’s all our own flesh, why differentiate between higher and lower, noble and humble?” Qin Nuan didn’t care, since her brother was asleep, he couldn’t hear or know anyway.

”Then you...”

”I’m a little princess, am I the same? He’s a drunkard.” At this moment, Qin Nuan had lost all earlier gentleness when looking at Qin Wen, showing a face full of impatience and even a bit of anger.

”What’s wrong?” Luo Yanran noticed something was off with his girlfriend and quickly asked.

”That jerk Qin Wen was actually talking in his sleep just now,” Qin Nuan bit her lower lip tightly.

”What did he say?” Luo Yanran, seeing his girlfriend reluctant to speak, quickly turned his gaze to his sister.

Luo Qianqian awkwardly touched her nose, glanced at Qin Nuan, and said, ”I’m going back to wash up and sleep, I’m still a kid.” After speaking, she dashed out of the guest room as fast as she could, patting her chest at the doorway. She surely couldn’t tell Fourth Brother that Qin Wen said ’Qin Nuan, no more peeing your pants’.

After obediently returning to her room, it wasn’t long before Qin Nuan followed. Looking at Luo Qianqian, who had already washed up and was sitting aside, she sighed, ”You’d think I should feel relieved, but why do I feel so suffocated?”

”And there’s the matter with those two,” seeing Qin Nuan’s somewhat puzzled look, Luo Qianqian continued, ”You know, the ’forever and ever’ two.”

Enlightened, Qin Nuan nodded, ”They are just minions, they shouldn’t pose much of a threat, right?”

Luo Qianqian didn’t answer Qin Nuan, her slightly furrowed brows indicating that she too was pondering the issue.

”Stop thinking about it, and just get some sleep. With so many people at home, do they really need a child like you to step forward?” Qin Nuan smiled as she entered the bathroom to wash up. Once in the bathroom, her smile vanished completely. She felt a bit panicky. She turned on the faucet, splashing the cold water onto her face haphazardly. Looking at herself in the mirror, she noticed bloodshot eyes. Recently, too many things had happened, overwhelming her more than when she had just returned.

Luo Qianqian turned on her computer and briefly emailed her brother about the situation here, also asking about his health as if using him as a confessional. The emails to Xu Tianyi were much simpler, just a few greetings and shows of concern. After sending them, she shut down the computer and returned to bed, curling up under the covers and closing her eyes.

When Qin Nuan emerged from the bathroom, Luo Qianqian was already breathing evenly, asleep. She ensured Luo Qianqian was properly covered with her blanket before she pulled her own over herself and lay down. However, she couldn’t fall asleep, haunted, like Luo Qianqian had said, by the possibility of unforeseen events occurring.

She didn’t fall asleep until daybreak.

When Luo Qianqian got up, she didn’t wake Qin Nuan. Instead, she dressed and washed up on her own. She was then surprised to see a suitcase next to Fourth Brother at the dining table. ”Are you leaving, Fourth Brother?”

”Mm, the film crew has been pushing for urgency. Has Nuannuan not woken up yet?” Luo Yanran nodded and looked past Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian saw right through Luo Yanran’s concern and shook her head. ”Nuannuan went to sleep very late last night. She must be troubled. Shall I wake her now?”

”No need, she won’t be up for long anyway. I’ll spend time with her when I return.” Luo Yanran shook his head, looking solemnly at Luo Qianqian, ”Watch over your sister-in-law at school and make sure she isn’t bullied.”

”Fourth Brother! I’m more likely to be bullied than Nuannuan, aren’t I? I’m still a child!” Luo Qianqian retorted, visibly displeased. Even if she were bullied, she could only end up grabbing Nuannuan and running away.

Only then did Luo Yanran remember his sister, touching his head apologetically. ”I forgot. I’ll ask Nuannuan to watch over you then.”

”You two don’t need to use me as a shield to talk or date, right? You don’t need to tell Nuannuan. I’ve known her longer, okay?” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, walked past Luo Yanran, and sat down next to Yue Tingyu with an air of feigned grievance. ”Grandma, look, Fourth Brother doesn’t care about me anymore.”

”It’s okay, Grandma cares about you. I won’t care about your Fourth Brother anymore.” Yue Tingyu doted unconditionally on her granddaughter, throwing a big eye roll at her fourth grandson without hesitation.

Luo Yanran felt innocent but seeing Luo Qianqian’s triumphant little demeanor, he said nothing, just chuckled as he watched her fuss.

Then Luo Yanran’s phone rang. He glanced at it and swallowed the fried egg on his plate. ”Grandpa and Grandma, I must leave now. Qianqian, tell Nuannuan later that I’ve left, and I’ll bring you a gift when I return.”

Luo Qianqian nodded, set down her chopsticks, and escorted her brother to the door, watching as he got into the car. Only then did she return to her seat.

Old Master Luo finally spoke slowly, ”I wasn’t sleepwalking last night, was I?”

”Grandfather, are you asking about Li Xiancheng’s visit?”

”See? I knew I wasn’t senile yet. Your grandma insisted I was muddled,” Old Master Luo boasted proudly, looking at Yue Tingyu, ”I knew that’s why the boy would obediently go back.”

”Yes, yes, let’s eat,” Yue Tingyu replied, helpless against her husband who was becoming more pedantic in his old age.
