Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 230: Chapter 201: How Dare You Kill My Horse

The helicopter flew slowly, and the man inside, dressed in an official’s robe, periodically gazed down below.

A great river flowed past, bordered by overgrown grass and dense woods, but there was no sign of human life.

It wasn’t until they reached Eggshell Pier that the robed official saw the teeming crowds below, as dense as those in a bustling market.

”To think there’s a pier like this here! We must have reached Sun Wukong’s territory. What are they doing down there? What a crowd!”

The robed official looked down with curiosity.

His name was Zhao Wenliang, an Inspector Imperial Censor from the Golden Sparrow Country’s Imperial Censorate, a Second-Grade Official.

The pale-faced eunuch beside him was one of the grand eunuchs of the Inner Palace, named Tang Xian, a trusted confidant of the Empress Dowager!

Tang Xian also glanced down, but his expression remained unchanged. Instead, he urged the pilot, ”Follow that main road and find Sun Wukong’s residence!”

”Yes, sir!”

The man piloting the helicopter was Lu Datong. He wore Leather Armor and was a Fourth-Grade Military General, an Imperial Guard, and one of the Commanders of the Imperial Guard—a top-tier expert in the military.

He piloted the helicopter past Eggshell Pier, heading toward Shanhai Pass.

Beyond Shanhai Pass lay a great road that led straight to Peach Blossom Mountain. It was much wider and smoother than the roads in Kyoto.

However, just as they neared the ancient gatehouse, Fire Signal Arrows suddenly soared into the sky, letting out a sharp whistle as they scattered toward the helicopter.

”Not good! Stray arrows, and a lot of them!”

Lu Datong cried out in alarm.

Tang Xian said, ”We are Imperial Envoys, yet they dare to attack? Push forward! I want to see which blind fool dares to shoot at us. I’ll have a word with him.”

Zhao Wenliang, however, asked, ”This armored helicopter of ours isn’t afraid of stray arrows, is it?”

Lu Datong replied, ”Don’t worry, don’t worry. It can even withstand the military’s steel crossbows! Rest assured, My Lord, we are quite safe!”

Zhao Wenliang nodded. ”Still, I believe we shouldn’t be reckless. Barging in like this is impolite. Let’s land the helicopter. We should follow procedure, announce our arrival, and request an audience with Sun Wukong. We can’t afford to ruin this mission.”

”Yes, sir!”

Lu Datong nodded. He increased the helicopter’s altitude to evade the Fire Signal Arrows, circled once in the air, then slowly descended to land beside Eggshell Pier.

Meanwhile, atop the Shanhai Pass gatehouse, Zhang Mazha lowered the RPG from his shoulder and barked, ”Go and see what’s going on! Daring to fly into my Huaguo Mountain and my Eggshell City? They’re lucky they landed when they did, or I’d have blown them to bits with a single shot!”

”Yes, sir!”

Two soldiers in General Armor acknowledged the order and immediately headed down from the gatehouse.

Although they wore General Armor, they were actually just militiamen—and new recruits at that.

Hu Fenqiu, Zhang Mazha, and Yang Dazhuang had just recruited a batch of new soldiers. These two were part of that group and had been assigned to guard duty at Shanhai Pass; Zhang Mazha had only just brought them here.

But even as grunts, their equipment wasn’t shabby. They not only wore General Armor but also carried Iron-Clad Bows and were equipped with Cyan Bamboo Arrows.

It was worth noting that those Cyan Bamboo Arrows did not come from the Exquisite Armaments Factory.

The Exquisite Armaments Factory produced only masterwork items. After Fish-Transformed Dragon, the Governor of the Western Depot, took command, it stopped manufacturing low-grade items like Cyan Bamboo Arrows.

The Cyan Bamboo Arrows the new recruits carried had been recently manufactured by the Ironware Department of the Hundred Skills Academy. Their quality wasn’t on par with the originals from the Exquisite Armaments Factory, but they were still good-quality arrows, perfectly fine for everyday use.

By now, the three men had disembarked from the helicopter.

Zhao Wenliang surveyed his surroundings.

The distant pier was bustling with a noisy crowd. The ancient gatehouse up ahead appeared to have guards on duty, and not far away, a dirt-faced young man was punching and kicking a pile of scrap metal.

Zhao Wenliang’s curiosity was piqued. He walked over, clasped his hands in a formal greeting to the grimy man, and asked, ”My good man, might I ask if this is Sun Wukong’s territory ahead?”

The dirt-faced man was none other than Wang Yi.

His Bronze Vintage Car had broken down again. This time, it had completely fallen apart, its pieces scattered across the ground. He had been thrown face-first into the dirt, and when he picked himself up, one look at the pathetic state of his Bronze Vehicle told him it needed a major overhaul. He figured it would take at least three or four hundred punches to get it working again.

’If this keeps up, I’m going to become a boxer just from fixing this car! Oh well, might as well think of it as a workout. That’s not so bad.’

Just as Wang Yi was muttering to himself, he heard the robed man’s question and turned to look them over.

He had actually spotted the helicopter earlier and assumed it was another Player arriving. But when three Indigenous People climbed out, his wariness faded, though his curiosity remained.

”It is,” Wang Yi replied. ”Who are you people? What brings you here?”

Tang Xian snorted and cut in, ”You peasant, you have no manners! Standing before you is Lord Zhao Wenliang, a Second-Grade Official of the Imperial Court! Even the Kaiyuan County Magistrate would have to kneel to greet him, yet you speak with your back to us!”

”A eunuch?” Upon hearing this, Wang Yi glanced at Tang Xian. ’My first time seeing a real eunuch,’ he thought. ’Quite an eye-opener.’

”It’s quite all right, quite all right!”

Zhao Wenliang’s tone, however, was much milder. He asked Wang Yi again, ”I see that the pier is very busy. My good man, might I ask what everyone is occupied with over there?”

”The pier? They’re hiring workers! You three look able-bodied, you could give it a shot. Who knows, a foreman might take a shine to you. Then you could join the factory and enjoy its many blessings!”

Wang Yi said, all the while continuing his ’repairs’.

In fact, he had just come from Eggshell Pier himself.

A short while ago, the small train had returned, dropping off over two hundred people at Eggshell Pier. Pang Damao, Zhang Dashan, Pei Xue, and the others were busy there, registering the Refugees and assigning them jobs.
