Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 202: Chapter 179: Eggshell Village Assembly 2

The other Muscle Men, however, drew their long sabers. As they marched on, their eyes remained fixed on Li Mingli. Two of them held their blades to Xue Shentian’s neck, ready to execute the Prince if their other captive made a single false move.

Li Mingli was in a real bind. Just as he was debating whether to fight his way out or bide his time, a stone flew out of nowhere and struck him square in the face. He cried out as he tumbled backward off the large rock.

It was Yue Gang who had thrown the stone!

He had only meant to test the waters and hadn’t expected the stone to hit its mark so perfectly.

Lu Aqi was also surprised, but since they had already made their move, there was no reason to hold back. He bellowed, ”Brothers, what are you waiting for? This guy’s all talk! Get him!”

”Right!”

The Muscle Men immediately rushed forward and viciously swarmed Li Mingli.

A few moments later, Li Mingli was knocked unconscious. His face was bruised and swollen, his head covered in blood. His longsword was confiscated, and he was tightly bound, now a captive.

Lu Aqi’s group suffered no casualties and continued on their way.

Meanwhile, Eggshell Village was bustling with excitement.

News that Wang Yi was holding a village-wide assembly had spread, and the residents were all astir. Men, women, adults, and children—everyone who heard the announcement rushed toward the meeting place.

”The Boss has performed another miracle! All these houses appeared out of thin air!”

”Have you seen the buildings that popped up near Huangni Village? I dared to peek inside one. Tsk, tsk. It’s all white porcelain, sparkling clean! There’s even a small well inside, and the water is so sweet!”

”You’re not talking about the Toilet Houses, are you?”

”Toilet House? What’s that?”

”That proves you’ve never been arrested by the Eastern Depot!”

”The assembly is in the great hall this time. Everyone, hurry!”

”The great hall? What’s that? Where is it?”

”Just follow everyone else!”

The villagers chattered excitedly among themselves.

Wang Yi was currently inside the Exile Court. This was the so-called ”great hall” for the assembly.

He planned to hold the village-wide assembly here.

By now, Wang Bushi, Irina, Fish-Transformed Dragon, Hai Zhongxian, Xiang Yun, Nangong Jin, Wadu, Qin Mo, Man Datou, and the others had arrived. They gathered around Wang Yi, chatting casually.

Wang Yi considered these people his inner circle and had already given them a brief overview of the newly constructed buildings.

”The Military Affairs Office is built,” Wang Yi began. ”You should all go to the Military Intelligence Camp to enlist. Don’t pass up the free Virtual Air Force Pay!”

As he spoke, Wang Yi took out a pile of Gold Coins and handed them to Nangong Jin.

He currently had over 180,000 Gold Coins and planned to give all of it to Nangong Jin to recruit soldiers.

”I won’t hide this from you. I am a Chaos Lord. There are many others like me in this world, and beyond it, there are even older Chaos Lords and Adventurers. They are all potential rivals. We must remain vigilant even in times of peace. The future is uncertain, and if we don’t want to be conquered, we must grow stronger as fast as we can...”

’I’m determined to maintain my current advantage,’ Wang Yi thought. ’To do that, I must become stronger, the territory must develop, and our military forces must expand.’

”General Nangong, take these 180,000 Gold Coins. The Soldiers you recruit will be divided. The Eastern Depot and Western Depot will each get a share. A portion will remain stationed in Eggshell Village, and another part will be sent to garrison Mengbai Island to secure our control over the wild monster resources...”

”Rest assured, Boss. I will complete the recruitment as quickly as possible!”

Nangong Jin bowed in acknowledgment, but she felt the immense pressure of the task.

’180,000 Gold Coins was no small sum. That’s enough to fund countless Octagonal Cage fighting competitions.’

Wang Yi then turned to Hai Zhongxian. ”The Giant Scorpion Camp will temporarily serve as the Eastern Depot’s headquarters. Old Hai, you can arrange for your subordinates to move in.”

”As for the Western Depot’s headquarters!” Wang Yi said, turning to Fish-Transformed Dragon. ”We’ll use the Giant Crab Camp for now. Fish-Transformed Dragon, the Brocade Guard must be trained up, and we need to accelerate the production of the Yellow Springs Locks.”

Fish-Transformed Dragon bowed. ”Rest assured, Teacher. I will build up the Western Depot and will not disappoint you!”

Wang Yi nodded, pleased, but then he sighed. ”Our territory has come a long way, but we’re still short on labor. We need a massive workforce to accelerate construction. We brought back plenty of food from the World of Suffering, and it’s all been refined into Fasting Pills, so we don’t need to worry about supplies for a while. That means we can’t just wait for Refugees to show up; we must actively recruit new residents. Jelena, what do you think about taking charge of Eggshell Castle?”

Jelena blinked, seemingly trying to discern her father’s true intentions, but she replied at once, ”I will do as you command, Father!”

”Excellent! I intend to develop Eggshell Village into Eggshell City within three months. We’ll integrate Liuhe Farm, the Hundred Skills Academy, Eggshell Farm, the Capsule Factory, and more. We will build extensive infrastructure and, crucially, erect strong defenses around the territory. This requires a massive workforce, but before we can get the workers, we need a solid, capable management team...”

’Truth be told, I just want to delegate power,’ he thought. ’I’ll hand off all the tedious, complicated stuff to Jelena. That will free me up to leisurely build the Peach Blossom Forest, find the right mountains and waters, personally craft Huaguo Mountain, and create the Three-System Ecosystem. Those are things no one else can do for me.’

After a brief pause, Wang Yi continued, ”At the upcoming assembly, I will announce that Eggshell Castle is the supreme seat of power for Eggshell City. Jelena, my daughter, you will be the Lord of Eggshell Castle, and thus the City Lord of Eggshell City. You will consolidate the Foreign Affairs Department, the Intelligence Department, the Production Team, the Money Shop, the Dining Halls, and more. Wadu, Yang Wanli, Zhang Dashan, Pang Damao, Pei Zhi, Guangkun, and the others will all be under your command! You will be in charge of all operations, oversee Alchemy, recruit Refugees as quickly as possible, cultivate talent, and direct all construction within the territory. I am giving you full and absolute authority. Can you handle it?”

Jelena was stunned by the immense favor, but she nodded resolutely. ”I can!”

”Father, what about me? What’s my job?”

Wang Bushi asked, raising his hand.

Wang Yi replied, ”You are Eggshell Village’s top fighter, so of course you’ll be going to war! Once the Military Intelligence Camp is sorted out, I plan to send you back to the World of Suffering to continue exploring. You will wage war abroad and seize resources for our territory! I hope you will accumulate many military honors so you can quickly become a Minister of Military Affairs and earn a seat in the Military Affairs Office!”

”Alright!” Wang Bushi clenched his fist in excitement. ”This is what I’m good at! Let my sister handle construction here at home in peace. I’ll go fight!”

Wang Yi added, ”Nangong Jin, Xiang Yun, Fish-Transformed Dragon, and Hai Zhongxian, you are all involved in military and government affairs. You should communicate frequently with my son, Bushi, and figure out how best to organize our military. Octagonal Cage Soldiers, the Civilian Militia, Bayonet Robots, Mobile Storms, and other armaments, as well as supplies like Fasting Pills and Hemostatic Pills, will all be prioritized for your use.”

Wang Bushi and the others bowed in acceptance.

Wang Yi wanted to discuss the details of training the militia and modernizing them with arms and munitions from the World of Suffering. ’The fastest way for the militia, formed from the Indigenous People, to become combat-ready is to equip them with modern firearms,’ he thought.

Just then, however, he spotted Hu Miaosuan chuckling as he walked over, leaning on his Dragon Head Staff. Wang Yi’s expression shifted, and he muttered, ”We need to get that old codger out of the way. Otherwise, no one will be able to focus...”

He pointed at Hu Miaosuan and said, ”You all need to remember this: that Hu Miaosuan fellow is a bizarre character. Keep him away from the academy and similar places. He’ll undoubtedly be a bad influence on the children. He’s a Dog Head Military Advisor, so you can’t believe everything he says. Any advice he gives must be considered with extreme caution, because it’s most likely a terrible idea! However, the man does possess the ’Drunken Stealing Celestial Secret’ ability, so what he says when he’s drunk might just be a bit more reliable!”

Hearing this, the group looked over at Hu Miaosuan and nodded, signaling that they would be on their guard.

After a moment’s thought, Wang Yi added, ”Old Hai, bring some wine. Let’s get this old chap thoroughly drunk!”

”Yes, sir!”

Hai Zhongxian acknowledged the order and immediately departed using his Lightweight Skill. He returned a moment later with some wine.

This was the same wine that Yang Wanli’s group had brought back from Kaiyuan County. It had been kept in the First Dining Hall ever since and was largely untouched, aside from a bit that Hai Pei had secretly sipped.

Hu Miaosuan had a knack for making himself at home. As a ”Master of All Things,” he could strike up a conversation with anyone and never acted like an outsider. He soon ambled over to stand by Wang Yi, chatting with the group as if he were truly their Military Advisor.

It was true that the man loved wine as if it were life itself. The moment he saw Hai Zhongxian arrive with the drink, he shamelessly sidled over to beg for some. His tolerance, however, was shockingly poor; he was already tipsy after just a few sips.

Seeing that people were still arriving, Wang Yi grew curious about how Hu Miaosuan’s ”Drunken Stealing Celestial Secret” actually worked. He ordered him to take a few more drinks.

Seeing that Hu Miaosuan could barely stay on his feet, Wang Yi asked tentatively, ”Old Hu, are you drunk already?”

Hu Miaosuan let out a drunken hiccup, his small eyes narrowed to slits. He waved a hand dismissively. ”Not drunk... not drunk at all. It’s still early! C’mon, let’s have another!”
