The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 743- Curse Unleashed, Vanessa Afflicted

They were extremely enraged.

”Human, you dare?!”

”How dare you speak to us like insects?!”

”A mere human knight lecturing beings who walked this world before your ancestors learned to read and write?!”

The two Organization monstrosities remained silent. But the majority of the demons were all furious. Especially the Demon Generals. They were powerful demons who had roamed the world hundreds of years ago. Even if they were captured and sealed within the Great Demon Prison, their pride did not erase.

How dare this human, who was not even born at that time, speak about exterminating them?

What they did not know was that more than three centuries of being sealed away had caused them to be isolated from the outside world. They knew nothing of the current era, and more so about the Divine Paladin, who was like a nightmare and whose very name had become synonymous with demon extermination.

As such, seeing the blatant disregard and condescension in the human’s eyes, their rage finally exploded.

”Die!”

The Nemean Lion-looking Demon General charged first. His bronze hide shone brilliantly.

[Mythic Blood Art: Nemean King’s Bastion].

With the activation of his ability, every scale on his body expanded outward, forming an almost impenetrable fortress around his body as he swung a fist capable of crumbling a mountain with a single blow.

Beside him, the skeletal priest spread both arms. Immediately, hundreds of cursed mirrors filled the sky.

[Necromantic Rite: Mirrors of Tartarus].

These demonic mirrors each carried a reflection of a phantom who jumped from one mirror to another. Not only were their attacks fierce, but they were chaotic and unpredictable. With every phantom attacking, the battlefield itself became impossible to distinguish.

Simultaneously, the Demon General with countless serpent heads as a lower body slammed six palms together. The countless serpents covering his body opened their mouths.

[Beast Venom: Echidna’s Gaze].

A sea of colossal venomous hydras erupted from beneath the earth, each possessing independent consciousness.

Meanwhile, the Artificial Demons from the Organization also attacked. The four-armed monstrosity bent unnaturally. Its muscles expanded.

[Artificial Demon Armament: Chimera Overdrive].

In the blink of an eye, its bulky build compressed, becoming lean and agile. Moreover, steam mixed with demonic energy released from its body, covering it in a dark cloak. When the creature moved, it was so fast that it was beyond the limits of human perception.

The faceless artificial demon opened its countless eyes simultaneously. Blood seeped out from each of them, and a peculiar power generated.

[Artificial Demon Armament: Thousand Eyes of Argus].

Thousands of eyes appeared on the battlefield. Invisible power fluctuated in each of these eyes, making it impossible to look at them. Every possible escape route, every blind spot, and every movement was covered by these thousand eyes.

Five powerful abilities. Five overwhelming attacks. They descended upon Reinhardt together.

Seeing this, Leona’s silver eyes narrowed. Facing such an assault, even she would be forced into a desperate struggle against this combination.

Yet Reinhardt remained calm throughout. There was even a hint of disgust mixed in.

”Finished?”

Seeing that his opponents were done posturing, he slowly raised his sword. Golden light quietly gathered along its edge. There was no excessive burst of aura or any dazzling effect. Only the laws of the world slowly and silently being twisted.

”I don’t have time to entertain you. So let’s end it with this move.”

The main force of the Dawnbringers was still in a precarious state. He needed to go there and stabilize the situation as soon as possible. He was already late by over a month. He really had no time to play knights vs demons with these fellows.

And so, when he invoked the power deep within him, divine energy surged violently. The heavens trembled.

At that instant, the Divine Sword: Solar Edge in his hand released a brilliance that eclipsed the sun itself.

”[Exalted Strike].”

With that, he swung his sword, and the world turned golden for a brief moment.

At one hundred percent power, Reinhardt did not restrain himself this time.

BOOOOOOM...

Even before the attack was launched, the clouds parted in every direction. The very atmosphere groaned beneath the weight of the full-power attack. The change was so drastic that even the Demon Generals’ expressions changed.

”W-What is this...?!”

”This pressure...”

”Impossible!”

Even the two Organization monstrosities, beings that were programmed to know no fear, instinctively took half a step backward.

Reinhardt paid them no attention. He slowly drew his sword across the air. The divine radiance gathering upon its edge became purer and purer.

Before long, a wide single line of golden light ran horizontally through the air. It looked extremely simple and clean. Yet everyone who looked at it felt an indescribable terror.

Reinhardt quietly muttered the name in his heart.

”[Exalted Strike].”

A single slash. A golden line traveled forward silently.

Compared to the overwhelming visual spectacle and phenomena created by the demons, that single strike from Reinhardt appeared almost insignificant.

Yet when the two attacks met, there was no earth-shattering collision or prolonged struggle. No, there was no contest at all.

The five full-power abilities unleashed by the Demon Generals and the artificial demons simply could not resist. Against the Divine Paladin’s attack, they quietly vanished, erased out of existence.

The power difference was too great.

The Exalted Strike advanced without slowing in the slightest. The cursed mirrors of Tartarus shattered into countless particles. The same was true for the Eyes of Argus. The hydras born from the serpentine Demon General dissolved before they could even scream.

The artificial monstrosities’ perfected bodies were cleaved apart together with their souls. Even the Nemean Lion’s legendary hide was split open like paper.

”No...”

”How can this be...”

The three generals looked on with eyes widened in disbelief. But they did not have time to reel in astonishment as the attack was heading straight for them next.

”This is...”

The golden strike swallowed them whole. They did not even have time to mount a proper defense.

In a matter of an instant, all of them were disintegrated. All five were gone. Dead beyond any question. Even the lingering demonic energy was completely purified.

And not only them. The Exalted Strike swept across the battlefield without losing much of its power. The entire demon legion following the five demons was within the range of the attack.

Thousands upon thousands of demons disappeared. Wherever the golden light went, everything was reduced to nothing.

The divine slash carved through the battlefield, through mountains, through demonic mist. Even space itself seemed to split before that overwhelming power.

From a distance, it looked like a colossal scar had been etched into the earth. Golden holy energy continuously flowed within the scar like a divine boundary. Any and all traces of demonic energy around it were instantly purified.

The scar was like a boundary that no demon would ever again be able to cross.

One attack. In just one attack, victory and defeat were decided.

Witnessing this overwhelming display of power, the surviving knights from Leona’s team could not help but gasp.

One of them lowered his sword and gawked.

”That’s it? I... I was still preparing to put my life on the line.”

Another one scratched his helmet.

”No wonder he is regarded as one of the heroes of humanity. Turns out there is such a shocking gap between our levels.”

One surrounding knight who belonged to the Temple of Light burst into awkward laughter.

”Of course, you idiot. Who do you think he is? He is the Divine Paladin from our Temple of Light.”

The man spoke with pride as if that accomplishment was his own.

”Still, every time I think I’ve caught up a little... he reminds me why he’s the Commander.”

Compared to them, Leona did not have much of a reaction. Although she was somewhat surprised, it was nothing compared to the other knights. Having fought beside Reinhardt for years, she had long since become accustomed to his absurd methods.

Reinhardt slowly landed amidst the knights. The battlefield that was moments ago filled with demonic roars and explosions had become eerily quiet.

His gaze swept across the battered knights. Without saying a word, he raised his right hand and activated his skill.

”[Radiant Renewal].”

A warm golden radiance spread around the surroundings. Tiny motes of light drifted down from the sky like the first snow of spring. As they descended, each mote blossomed into a glowing golden dandelion.

One by one, they landed on the knights. The moment they touched, gentle warmth spread throughout the knights’ bodies, healing their wounds, restoring their stamina. Even the crushing fatigue accumulated from weeks of battle melted away little by little.

After confirming that everyone’s condition had stabilized, Reinhardt turned around and walked toward Leona.

The silver-haired Valkyrie had also recovered considerably under the effects of the divine skill.

Seeing him approach, she let out a quiet sigh.

”I suppose... you want to ask what happened after you were like that?”

She already knew what he wanted to ask.

Reinhardt nodded.
