The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 705- Fierce Fight- Reinhardt Vs Drystan

She did not apply any makeup, nor was she overly dressed. Yet this simplicity only caused her beauty to intensify. Under the soft light of the church, she appeared radiant and beautiful.

”So you came, huh?” Aurelia smiled.

Reinhardt found himself momentarily at a loss for words. Through a series of coincidences, he had somehow ended up exactly where she had invited him.

In the end, he could only nod. ”Miss Aurelia”.

The woman giggled. ”What kind of greeting is that?”

Although this was their second encounter, it was a proper one. The last time, they met in a hurry and unusual circumstances. Furthermore, they hadn’t even exchanged greetings that time.

As such, Aurelia extended her hand and smiled radiantly.

”I’m Aurelia, a resident of this beautiful Blueberry Town”.

Reinhardt looked at the extended hand and responded to the gesture.

”I’m Reinhardt Arcknight, a Holy Knight of the Temple of Light”.

And thus, this became their first proper meeting.

It must be said that Aurelia was quite the social butterfly; her bubbly attitude made one feel helpless. She continued to converse with Reinhardt, continuously asking questions about the world outside the town.

As someone who hadn’t left Blueberry Town since she was born, she knew very little about the world or the kingdom she lived in. Naturally, she was curious about everything.

At this point, Reinhardt was quite young. Most of his life, he either trained, battled, or exterminated demons and monsters.

Of course, as a high noble and Duke’s son at that, he had a proper noble upbringing, capable of negotiating with nobles and going to balls.

But during those times, he mostly showed his face. Even while dancing, he had no interest in it. While conversing with noble women, he kept it curt and strictly to the topic. In the noble circles, he was known as the Aloof One.

But what about Aurelia? She was no noble woman. Many things she asked, or even the way she put it, were quite strange and always informal.

Ordinary conversations with women? That was unfamiliar territory to him at that time.

Fortunately, Aurelia seemed to find his awkwardness amusing rather than strange. Her eyes soon landed on the assortment of food piled in his arms.

A loaf of bread here. A basket of pastries there. Several jars of homemade jam. And somehow, a bag of dried berries he didn’t remember accepting.

Seeing this, Aurelia pressed her lips together. Then she failed to hold it back. A small laugh escaped her. ”You look like you’ve been robbed”.

Reinhardt glanced down. ”I... was wondering how all of this ended up in my hands”.

The woman laughed even harder. ”The townspeople must really like you”.

This explanation was hard to accept; after all, he had come here just today.

”Don’t think about it too much. The elderly here are all just like that. Besides, Sir Silas brought you here. That alone shows that you are a good person”.

Well, that explanation was good enough. Aurelia then pointed toward the bread he was holding.

”Well then, Mister Hero. How is the food in our town?” she spoke mischievously.

Reinhardt was holding a slice of freshly baked bread with a layer of blueberry jam coating its surface. He took a bite out of it and then two.

In two bites, it was already in his mouth. Tasting the softness of the bread, the sweetness of the blueberries that spread through his mouth. Simple yet strangely satisfying.

After swallowing, he nodded honestly. ”It’s good”.

Aurelia’s smile immediately widened as though she had personally received praise. ”Huhu... Our blueberry jam is world famous, you know”.

Yeah, right; you have never left the town, so how would you know? Of course, he did not say it out loud.

The bread and jam were indeed delicious.

”Did you make it?”

”Yes”. Aurelia proudly folded her hands. Though her momentum instantly deflated. ”No”, she shook her head and pointed at an old lady in the distance.

”Granny Maribel did. She threatened to hit me with a spoon if I took credit, but I helped her in the process”.

”...” For a moment, Reinhardt didn’t know how to respond.

The sounds of laughter, music, and cheerful conversations filled the courtyard around them. Amidst it all, Reinhardt found himself feeling oddly relaxed. A feeling he rarely experienced after becoming a knight.

Aurelia seemed to notice, and a faint smile appeared on her face. She was genuinely happy to see him enjoying himself.

Afterwards, the townfolk gathered to offer their prayers to the Goddess. Then there was song, music, and even dance.

The mood was festive and happy. Even the orphans joined in, running around with bright smiles on their faces.

For a small town like Blueberry Town, this festival was more than a religious tradition. It was a day when everyone could forget their worries and simply be happy.

Reinhardt quietly watched the scene.

Before he knew it, several more plates had been forced into his hands by enthusiastic townsfolk.

Reinhardt looked at the pile with fright. One should never underestimate the appetite of a knight. He had already eaten enough food for five ordinary people. Yet there was still so much left.

He was full. That said, these foods were all given by the townsfolk with love; not eating them would be disrespectful. He decided to carry them back later.

It was at that moment, the doors of the church opened, and several figures entered.

Thud... Thud... the moment their footsteps rang out,

Reinhardt’s body jolted in alert, and his expression changed abruptly. Years of training allowed him to sense his surroundings acutely. And from what he felt from these newcomers was... blood.

Each and all of them carried faint traces of bloodlust and battle craze. It was suppressed well. However, how could it go unnoticed by Reinhardt’s senses?

Even with his back turned, he could tell that this group of people was not ordinary. Their auras were fierce, and their presence sharp.

Like warriors who were used to fighting. One of them even gave Reinhardt a faint sense of danger. Subconsciously, his hand drifted toward the sword hanging at his waist.

He slowly turned. There, walking through the entrance were a group of young men. They wore intimidating attire; their appearances were rough, and their bearing was unruly.

In a place filled with ordinary citizens, they looked completely out of place.

Reinhardt’s eyes narrowed. Information from the intelligence report he received about the criminal syndicate surfaced in his mind.

”Scarface Rowan...”

”The Butcher Finn...”

”Broken-Tooth Garrett...”

One by one, he matched the man with the information he had. Without any mistake, they all matched the information he was provided. All of them were vicious members of the criminal syndicate.

They were all here.

The mood earlier caused him to relax his guard, but now, his heart accelerated. Blood surged through his body. The townsfolk were in danger.

The intelligence reports listed numerous crimes against the criminal syndicate of Blueberry Town. Also, because Reinhardt’s attention was entirely focused on matching names with faces, he failed to notice something important.

The townsfolk weren’t afraid of these people. Quite the opposite. Their eyes even lit up after seeing them. Many even looked relieved.

The group had barely entered before several townsfolk greeted them warmly. Unfortunately, Reinhardt completely missed that part. His eyes were locked onto the movements of the syndicate members.

Then he saw it: one of them reaching for Granny Maribel standing nearby.

Danger! Instinct cultivated through years of training took over. Reinhardt moved.

Simultaneously... BOOM... A punch was thrown, and the air caved.

A terrifying shockwave exploded inside the church. The floor cracked. Tables overturned. A violent gust of wind swept through the hall.

Several shadows shot backward like cannonballs.

CRASH... CRASH... CRASH...

Flying through the air, their bodies smashed into the street outside. At that instant, the celebration froze.

Outside the church, the group of newcomers lay scattered on the ground. Some were embedded in the wall, some rolled on the ground.

Very few managed to find their bearing and land back on their feet. This in itself showed how dangerous they were.

The commotion instantly attracted the attention of the townsfolk outside. Seeing people rolling on the ground, their minds wandered, unable to understand what was going on.

Tap... Tap... Tap... At this moment, footsteps echoed from the church. Reinhardt walked out. His posture was casual, but his eyes sharp.

One hand was on the belt where his sword was strapped, and his other hand, he casually stretched it, rolling his shoulder and cracking his knuckles.

The attack previously was from his punch. Since he didn’t draw his sword inside the church, he had to make do with his fists.

Fortunately, he had controlled his strength. Otherwise, the church itself might have been reduced to rubble. Though there was still some damage, it could be easily repaired.

But enough about that. Reinhardt’s golden eyes swept across the group of people sprawled across the street.
