The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 741- Dawnbringers Surrounded, Leona’s Last Stand (4)

Reinhardt’s pupils contracted sharply. Without a single word, his speed increased once again.

The golden wings behind him erupted with blinding brilliance as he tore through the heavens, racing toward the battlefield with every ounce of power he could muster.

.

.

Leona’s breathing had long since become ragged. Every time she inhaled, scorching pain assaulted her lungs, drawing drops of blood. Still facing her enemies, her silver eyes remained as sharp as ever.

Clang...

Her longsword traced a blinding crescent through the battlefield.

[Stellar Sword Art: Vega].

A river of silvery starlight erupted from the blade, sweeping across the battlefield like a heavenly tide. Several charging demons were instantly bisected, their bodies dissolving beneath the concentrated astral energy.

Without pausing, Leona pivoted gracefully. Star trails appeared behind her cape, connecting like a famous constellation. At this moment, Leona had unleashed her full power, causing her to resemble a celestial maiden descending upon the battlefield.

Silvery astral light draped over her armor. Tiny motes of starlight revolved around her like loyal satellites. Her long silver hair fluttered amidst the storm, giving her an almost divine appearance.

Even exhausted, she still looked every bit her title: Valkyrie of Solaris.

That said, her enemies were no ordinary foes. Five terrifying figures surrounded her from every direction. Among them were three Demon Generals and two grotesque humanoid abominations created by the Organization.

Even while facing the full power attacks of the Valkyrie, none of them showed the slightest opening.

One of the Demon Generals was a towering warrior whose body was wrapped in bronze scales resembling those of the Nemean Lion. Every movement caused golden sparks to erupt from his skin.

His defense was so powerful that no ordinary blade could pierce his mythical hide.

The second Demon General resembled a skeletal priest draped in torn black robes. Around him floated countless rusted bronze mirrors covered in ancient runes. His power was the mirrors of the underworld. Every reflected attack returned as a curse upon its caster.

The third Demon General floated several feet above the ground. Instead of legs, countless serpents intertwined beneath his waist. His six arms continuously formed strange seals. Every serpent that fell from his body became an independent venomous beast.

As for the remaining two, although they looked something entirely different, the fact couldn’t be denied that they too were demons. They gave off a dense demonic aura, but there was no life in their bodies, only overwhelming malice radiating from their eye sockets.

Their bodies had clearly once belonged to humans. Now, their flesh had been stitched together with black metallic fibers. One possessed four arms ending in enormous obsidian claws.

The other had no face. Instead, countless eyes continuously opened and closed across its skin.

Artificial demons... to call them that would not be wrong.

Although their movements lacked elegance, every strike they unleashed carried terrifying power.

BOOM...

The Demon General resembling the Nemean Lion slammed both fists downward. Immediately, the earth erupted, seemingly wanting to engulf Leona.

The Valkyrie leapt backward, dodging the attack.

However, at that instant, thousands of serpents burst from beneath the shattered ground.

”Hissssss!”

The Demon General whose lower body was entirely composed of numerous serpents, smiled wickedly.

”[Brood of the Hydra].”

When slashed, each of these serpents split into two. Within seconds, the battlefield had become a sea of writhing monsters.

Seeing this, Leona calmly raised her sword, invoking another skill of hers.

The stars above answered her call.

[Stellar Sword Art: Orion’s Hunt].

Seven radiant stars appeared around her. One after another, they descended like divine arrows.

BOOM... BOOM... BOOM...

Each impact erased hundreds of serpents at once. The serpents’ terrifying power to multiply held no meaning before this bombardment.

But before Leona could relax, a mirror suddenly appeared before her. The Demon General who looked like a tattered skeleton priest, spoke softly.

”I return this to you.”

Leona’s sword strike suddenly emerged from behind her. She instinctively tried to move, but she was a step too late.

Slash...

Blood blossomed across her shoulder. Her own sword strike had wounded her.

Leona fought fiercely against the three Demon Generals. However, they weren’t the only opponents she needed to be wary of. Seizing the moment when she was distracted, the faceless artificial demon attacked wildly.

Its four meter arm transformed into a spear of black flesh and pierced toward her chest.

Leona narrowly managed to sidestep the attack. The spear missed her heart by inches. That said, it still tore through her side.

BANG...

The force sent her flying. She crashed through three broken pillars before regaining her footing.

Blood dripped steadily from her armor. Her body screamed, and her breathing became laborious. However, her enemies had no intention of giving her time. They closed in again.

The knights in the surrounding area had no qualification to enter this level of battle. Instead of helping Leona, they might only put her in greater danger. Everyone was distressed.

The knights of the Lunar Veil were especially so. Their commander was fighting five enemies at once, and they did not even have the power to help her.

In fact, the current 5v1 only occurred because of their inability to hold down the enemies.

The five enemies attacked fiercely. Although their coordination wasn’t flawless, they each exploited the other side to seize any opening.

Facing such a tight formation, Leona knew that she had fallen into a trap.

This battlefield was still a couple of miles away from where the main expeditionary force was. Getting reinforcements was impossible. Retreat was even less of an option. The demons had them completely surrounded.

Even if she could run away, what about the knights who followed her?

Realizing this, Leona smiled faintly.

”So this is where my journey ends.”

There was no fear or despair in her face. Only acceptance. If anything, there was a lingering regret.

Regret that she could not see that face again.

Regret that she could not confess her feelings to him.

Nevertheless, it lasted only a moment. As her mind cleared, she knew what she needed to do.

Slowly, Leona raised her sword toward the sky. At this moment, the dark sky was ripped apart, revealing the beautiful starry expanse above.

As her body glowed with astral light, the stars above began answering her once more. Though unlike before, not all stars answered her call. Only a few lit up.

These stars were different. They glowed crimson.

As Leona kept expending more and more power, under the illumination of the crimson stars, her own life force began pouring into her sword. Her silver hair gradually lost its brilliance. Even her breathing became extremely weak.

If one sensed her life, they would notice that it was visibly getting fainter. Yet the light surrounding her only continued growing.

Seeing this phenomenon, the Demon Generals instinctively slowed down. Although they did not know what was going on, those crimson stars and the light radiating from the Valkyrie’s sword gave them an intense sense of danger.

The Nemean Lion looking Demon General frowned.

”She is getting more powerful. Stop her.”

The skeleton priest summoned countless mirrors. The other Demon General and the artificial demons also unleashed their powers at this moment, trying to stop the woman from doing whatever she was doing.

Leona ignored them.

A beautiful smile appeared upon her pale lips. At this moment, she looked extremely pale and frail, as if she had lost a large amount of blood.

”If this strike can carve a path for everyone, then it will have been worth it.”

With this next attack, she not only wanted to kill all these demons, but she also wanted to create an opening for her team to retreat.

As if responding to her will, the starry night sky began trembling intensely. A vast constellation slowly materialized overhead. Its brilliance even shadowed the moon.

This crimson constellation looked both beautiful and ominous.

Leona whispered softly.

”Final Constellation...”

Just as the last syllable was about to leave her lips...

BOOOOOOM...

The heavens split apart. A pillar of golden light tore across the sky with such overwhelming speed that the clouds were blasted apart, revealing a large hole.

This golden streak of light clashed head on against the terrifying powers of the five demons, destroying and scattering them apart.

The battlefield shook violently.

Everything happened too fast. Neither the knights nor the demons could react. They could only instinctively turn their heads upward.

Before Leona, who was about to execute her final attack, could react, a warm hand gently grasped her wrist. A vast amount of divine energy surged, stabilizing the overflowing astral energy immediately. At the same time, her life force, which had been on the verge of burning out, stopped.

Golden dandelions filled with vast vitality landed on her body, instantly healing and curing all her wounds.

Leona’s pale face once again regained its vitality. She looked at the man standing before her and couldn’t help but widen her eyes.

”Reinhardt?”

Looking at his broad back, complicated emotions welled up in her heart.
