King of the Wilderness

Chapter 799: Chapter 361: Live-Streamed Deep Sea Fishing Competition

When Lin Yu’an was awakened by his biological clock once again, it was still pitch black outside the porthole.

He glanced at the time, 5:30 in the morning, half an hour remaining until Mike’s shift ended.

The cabin was silent, with only the rhythmic ”whoosh” of the hull slicing through the water, like a steady heartbeat.

He didn’t linger in that moment of warmth, quickly getting up and changing into a set of light sportswear.

As he carried two steaming cups of coffee up to the deck, he saw Captain Mike standing alone behind the wheel, a figure as resolute as the ship’s bow.

The eastern horizon already held an imperceptible hint of dawn light, interwoven with the starry sky, forming a magical dawn hue.

”Good morning, Captain.” Lin Yu’an handed one of the coffees over.

Mike turned around, seeing it was him, and a knowing smile appeared on his face as he accepted the coffee. ”I knew you wouldn’t sleep long. How is it? Your first night on the sea, how does it feel?”

”Very quiet, more comfortable than any five-star hotel bed on land,” Lin Yu’an replied, his gaze crossing Mike’s shoulder to the ocean about to awaken.

”Ha! Just wait until you encounter three continuous days and nights of gale force eight winds, where everything in the cabin is flying around, and you have to tie yourself to the bed to sleep, then remember you said that,” Mike teased with an experienced tone, taking a sip of the hot coffee.

He set down the coffee cup and picked up the binoculars hanging from his neck, carefully scanning the distant sea, ”However, you’ve woken up at just the right time.” There was an added hint of a hunter’s excitement in his voice, ”Look, over there.”

Lin Yu’an looked in the direction he pointed, seeing a group of seabirds circling low over the dawn-lit sea, occasionally diving down like fighter jets, stirring up small splashes.

”Below the birds, there must be a school of baitfish,” Mike lowered his voice, as if afraid of startling the distant prey, ”And where the baitfish gather, there are usually big ones hiding. They’re enjoying breakfast, and now our chance has come.”

”I agree.” The same light ignited in Lin Yu’an’s eyes. He not only saw the birds but also judged from the unusual water ripples that a silent hunt was taking place below.

The two exchanged a knowing smile, everything understood without words.

”I’ll go wake up Riven.” Mike was just about to press the intercom button.

At that moment, Riven’s voice came from the cabin door. She was wearing a tight-fitting sports vest and shorts, doing pre-battle stretches, full of youthful vitality.

”Good morning, gentlemen. Looks like I missed some interesting discoveries?”

”No, sweetheart, you’re just in time.” Mike excitedly slapped the wheel, ”The hunt is on!”

Lin Yu’an headed to the stern, took out his live streaming equipment, skillfully set it up, and fixed a wide-angle lens overlooking the entire aft deck.

Then he pressed the live button, choosing this time to stream only on China’s TikTok.

”Good morning, friends.” His voice was transmitted through the microphone.

”It is now Florida time, 5:45 in the morning. We’re at the eastern edge of the Gulf Stream. As you can see, a dawn-time sea fishing expedition is about to begin.”

The moment the stream started, domestic fans flocked in.

At this moment, it was evening back home, and many people had just finished their day of work or study. Seeing the first hint of light on the dark sea on screen and the looming hunting atmosphere, everyone’s attention was instantly captured.

[Whoa! Surprise stream! Such good timing, I love it!]

[Starting before it’s even dark? What’s the big move here?]

[Who are those two behind the host? Oh oh oh, it’s Captain Mike and Coach Riven! The vibe crew is in place!]

Captain Mike waved at the camera, seemingly enjoying the feeling of being in the spotlight, ”Lin, go show off your arsenal, let everyone feast their eyes!”

Lin Yu’an opened the box filled with equipment, taking out three sets of top-notch fishing gear one by one.

When the golden PENN, silver Accurate, and beast-like Shimano Tiagra were placed side by side on the rod holders at the stern, the livestream chat erupted instantly.

[Holy! Are these the legendary ten-thousand US dollar fishing rods?! So cool!]

[That metallic sheen, that mechanical vibe! These aren’t fishing rods, they’re perfect weed whackers!]

[Wow, I’m someone who doesn’t even fish, yet I’m feeling intrigued...]

Riven stepped forward, gently sliding her fingers over the cold metal body of the Tiagra 130A. ”Even though I was with you when you bought them, seeing them set up now, it still feels too extravagant. Lin, are you sure we’re going fishing and not whale hunting?”

Captain Mike stood to the side with his arms crossed, wearing a complex smile that was both proud and a bit ”sour.”

He looked at the three sets of top-tier gear gleaming in the dawn light, deliberately speaking in an exaggerated tone, ”Ha! Riven, my sweetheart, you’ve got to learn from this! Look at the resolve from Captain Lin!”

”Frank, that old fox, has been selling fishing rods for twenty years and has definitely never seen a buyer this straightforward. Tiagra 130, Accurate’s top-speed reel, Penn’s most reliable winch... You’ve practically cleared out Frank’s store treasures!”

”Dad, you stop with the sarcasm,” Riven joked back while helping Lin Yu’an organize the fishing lines, ”Lin is gearing up to challenge the Bahamas’ fish king, are you just planning to watch from the sidelines? Are you not going to bring out your treasures for a little contest?”
