King of the Wilderness

Chapter 758: Chapter 349: Bahamas Islands Crossing Plan (Part 2)

Mike’s ”feeling” was quickly quantified into a series of precise data and commands in his brain.

Then, the first attempt began.

He almost perfectly replicated all of Mike’s steps, precisely controlling the speed and elegantly steering.

But in the last step of the ”water brake,” there was a slight deviation in the inertia judgment, slightly late by a fraction of a second.

Although the boat ultimately entered the berth, the bow gently kissed the dock’s fender.

”Failed.” Mike’s voice was merciless, ”Any uncontrolled contact with the dock is a failure! In a real voyage, this would damage your bow. Try again!”

[Ah... just a little bit off! Such a pity!]

[Already awesome, okay! If it were me, my boat wouldn’t even know where it floated to!]

[Old man Mike is too strict! Is it because he’s the future son-in-law, being so harsh? (dog head)]

[Don’t keep shaking these IQs, been saying a million times Brother Lin has two kids already.]

Lin Yu’an didn’t feel discouraged at all and immediately started the second attempt.

This time, all his operations seemed more confident.

In the final stage before entering the berth, he glanced at the dock’s unobtrusive star-spangled banner’s direction of movement.

It was this detail that allowed him to foresee the change in the breeze acting on the boat at the last moment!

He turned the reverse rudder earlier than Mike! Because he calculated that the slight tailwind would provide his boat with an extra fraction of a second in acceleration!

In the end, the Wanderer slid into the berth like a ghost once again. This time, it came to a perfect stop a few centimeters from the dock!

Pride on Mike’s face froze. He couldn’t believe his eyes.

”My God...” Riven watched in awe and amazement. Seeing just once, practicing twice, not only mastering but even optimizing it? This was already beyond her understanding.

She couldn’t help but step forward, lightly touching his forehead, half-jokingly and half-seriously asking, her voice filled with incredulity:

”I’m really curious, exactly what model of processor do you have in your mind?”

This sudden, slightly intimate gesture stunned Lin Yu’an.

He could sense the coolness and softness of her fingertips and the intense curiosity glimmering in her eyes, which were like blue gems just inches away.

[Teacher Riven made her move! Head pat kill!]

[Teacher Riven: Let me check out how your CPU grew!]

[I declare God Lin has graduated from entry level! He can become a master!]

Lin Yu’an instinctively wanted to dodge, but Riven’s fingers had already withdrawn.

He could only smile helplessly and use a slightly humorous remark to diffuse the subtle atmosphere: ”Probably... it’s made in China.”

This response made Riven laugh, while Mike, after the initial shock, burst out with genuine laughter.

He lost but accepted his defeat wholeheartedly, even felt... a bit proud.

The day’s course ended in a way that made both instructors feel the ”teaching progress was completely out of control.” Lin Yu’an also closed today’s livestream.

On the way back, the dock’s sunset lengthened the silhouette of the father and daughter.

”Dad,” Riven couldn’t help but speak, ”was it... really his second day?”

”I don’t know,” Mike shook his head, lighting up the remaining half of his cigar, his expression complex.

”I’ve taught sailing for twenty years, Riven. I’ve seen talent, but I’ve never seen someone like him.”

”Any action, as long as it appears in front of his eyes once, he can immediately understand its underlying physical logic, then replicate, even optimize it.”

”Teaching him ASA 101 step-by-step, for him, is a waste of everyone’s time.”

Mike made a major decision, ”His physical fitness, reaction learning ability have far exceeded a beginner’s scope. What he’s missing is diverse maritime experience.”

Riven’s eyes lit up: ”So...”

”Exactly,” Mike looked at his daughter and smiled, ”We need to give him a real challenge in teaching.”

That night, Lin Yu’an had just finished a video call with Aliya and the others when Mike’s call came.

On the phone, Mike’s voice sounded more excited than ever.

”Lin, first of all, congratulations, the Coast Guard’s Tom just called me.”

”According to the video evidence, they took less than five hours to find that Viking Fishing Boat at a private dock.”

”None of the idiots on board escaped, all were taken away. Your lawyer can start preparing to pop the champagne.”

”Good news.” Lin Yu’an wasn’t surprised by this.

”Now, onto the second news,” Mike’s voice became solemn.

”Riven and I have re-evaluated your abilities and our teaching plan. We unanimously believe that teaching you the ASA course step-by-step is a waste of your talent.”

Lin Yu’an quietly listened.

”Therefore, we have designed a completely new, customized teaching plan for you. We will skip all basic courses and directly enter the fast-track mode for ocean captain.”

”We will conduct a real fifteen-day voyage, starting from Fort Lauderdale, going south through the entire Bahamas Islands, reaching Turks and Caicos Islands, then returning, with a total voyage of over 1000 nautical miles.”
