King of the Wilderness

Chapter 767: Chapter 352: Riven’s Aunt..._2

”Yo, Riven,” the girl’s tone was full of teasing, ”you finally decided to bring your secret boyfriend to meet me? You’ve hidden him well!”

As she spoke, she unabashedly sized up Lin Yu’an from head to toe.

”Shut up, Kira!” Riven’s cheeks flushed rare redness, and she pushed the girl in irritation, ”Don’t talk nonsense! This is my student. Lin, this is Kira.”

”Student?” Kira raised an eyebrow, clearly disbelieving, ”I’ve never seen you so attentive to any student, and this is the first time you’ve brought a man to my place.”

Lin Yu’an nodded politely without speaking.

Kira chuckled mischievously, then switched back to a professional mode immediately, ”What do you need? Let me introduce you.”

”He needs a top-notch Scubapro outfit, from head to toe.” Riven pointed at Lin Yu’an and handed the regulator in her hand over to Kira for inspection.

”Scubapro G260?” Kira glanced at it and immediately placed it back as if discarding trash.

”Riven, have you lost your mind?” Her tone was exaggerated, ”This is tourist gear, how can it be considered excellent? Let me show you some real diving equipment, follow me!”

Without further ado, Kira grabbed Lin Yu’an and led him to the deepest part of the store, a ”Pro Zone” section separated by a glass door.

Riven watched Kira’s expression with a ”I’m doing this for your boyfriend” look, feeling both amused and helpless, and could only follow them.

Kira’s tone became exceptionally professional and excited, ”Since you’re a friend of Riven, we’ll skip all the normal choices and go directly to the best.”

She began to introduce each piece of equipment one by one, like an arms dealer showcasing weapons.

”We’ll start with the most important heart—the regulator. For professionals, there are two choices, the reliable king, or the elegant emperor.”

She first picked up a set of pure black regulator: ”This is Apeks MTX-RC from the United Kingdom, military-grade, the first choice for ice diving. If you’re going to the Arctic, bring this, it’s absolutely reliable.”

Then, she picked up another set of regulator with a unique metallic sheen, as if holding a piece of jewelry.

”But here in Florida, we pursue the ultimate experience.” She handed the regulator to Lin Yu’an.

”Atomic Aquatics T3, the flagship of Atomic. Except for a few stainless steel springs, almost all its metal parts are made of aerospace-grade titanium alloy.”

”It’s nearly half as light as the Apeks and never corrodes. Importantly, its breathing smoothness is recognized as the best among all regulators. Breathing with it, you would forget you’re underwater.”

Looking at Lin Yu’an, she added the most crucial part: ”Of course, its price is of emperor-level. This set alone costs 3,000 US Dollars.”

While fiddling with the incredibly lightweight titanium alloy regulator in his hand, Lin Yu’an asked, ”Are the secondary stage’s internal components, like the lever and spring seat, also made of titanium alloy?”

This question momentarily stumped Kira, who had been speaking fluently, and after thinking for a moment, she replied, ”...Yes, to prevent galvanic corrosion between different metals.”

”Then can its Work of Breathing (WOB) maintain how many joules per liter at a depth of 50 meters, with a 3,000 PSI air source pressure?”

This question completely exceeded the sales realm and entered the field of equipment engineering. Kira was thoroughly puzzled and had to awkwardly resort to her phone to check the technical manual.

Riven watched from the side, feeling both shocked and amused. She knew that Lin Yu’an had started his monstrosity-like analysis again.

”Alright, let’s go with this one.” Lin Yu’an didn’t make it hard for her and made a straightforward decision.

”Wise choice!” Kira quickly regained her enthusiasm and continued with introductions.

”Since the regulator was chosen for ultimate lightness, we should also use the best for the BCD (buoyancy control device). The Halcyon backplate system with a carbon-fiber back, a set for 2,000 US Dollars.”

”Dive computer watch, Shearwater Teric, 1,400 US Dollars, the god among dive computers!”

”And the drysuit,” she pointed to a mannequin, ”the water in the Bahamas’ blue holes is quite cold. Santi E.Lite+ from Poland, the Hermes of dry suits, roughly 5,000 US Dollars.”

In the following half hour, Kira authoritatively recommended the top and most expensive equipment in the entire store for Lin Yu’an.

Riven tried several times to say that a beginner couldn’t use such high-end gear, but got rebuffed with Kira’s, ’Do you want him to have problems underwater?’

Throughout the process, Lin Yu’an never voiced any objections to the price of any piece of equipment, only occasionally raising one or two extremely professional technical questions, which kept Kira busy finding answers.

”Alright, that’s it.” Lin Yu’an said to Kira, pointing at the pile of top-level gear on the floor that was worth over 12,000 US Dollars.

”Not going to look at anything else?” Kira seemed a bit unsatisfied.

”Since you’re here, what’s the rush?” Without waiting for a reply, she pulled Lin Yu’an toward another shelf filled with various interesting gadgets.

”You’re going for 15 days this time, right? Some things may seem dispensable, but at crucial times, they could significantly enhance your happiness.”

Riven watched from the side, secretly thinking this is not good, knowing that Kira was about to start recommending toys with no cost-effectiveness again.

”For example, this,” Kira picked up a device that looked like a flashlight, ”an underwater scooter (DPV). The latest model from Yamaha, and only 2,000 US Dollars each.”

”Imagine, while you’re exploring a vast coral reef, others are still struggling to kick their fins.”
