King of the Wilderness

Chapter 762: Chapter 350: Beneteau Oceanis 45 – 45 Feet_3

Finally, Lin Yu’an switched to that awe-inspiring list of supplies on the Excel sheet.

”In terms of food and water,” he pointed to the precise numbers on the screen, ”considering a 15-day voyage for three people, and adding a 5-day emergency reserve, the total is calculated for 20 days.”

”Drinking water: calculated at a maximum of 3 liters per person per day, total demand is 3 people x 20 days x 3 liters = 180 liters. The freshwater tank capacity of the Polaris is 570 liters, which is more than enough.”

”But I still recommend making a supply stop at Nassau or Georgetown along the way, just in case.”

”As for food: I’ve divided it into three phases of consumption to ensure nutritional balance and the freshness of the ingredients. The detailed list is as follows...”

The screen displayed the meticulously planned menu, down to every meal.

”Besides, I personally suggest adding an extra entertaining dining option.”

”Extra food?” Riven finally found an opportunity to chime in, and she asked curiously.

”Yes.” Lin Yu’an flashed a mysterious smile.

”Considering that we’ll be spending several nights at sea, to boost team morale, I’m planning to purchase some special equipment.”

”This needs to be done with the overall supplies procurement and might require the help of a local guide, is that possible?”

As he spoke, his gaze turned to Riven, who immediately understood what he meant, and her blue eyes lit up instantly. She had been fretting about not having the chance to be alone with this interesting character.

”Oh? Of course, it can be done, why not!” She readily agreed.

”Your list is perfect, but some things, like the freshest local seafood and Florida’s sunshine oranges, require a local expert to find the best sources.”

”We can get all the supplies for the 15 days all at once!”

Captain Mike instinctively wanted to say, ”With such a large purchase, I should also go. I’m faster at driving, and my pickup can hold more.”

After all, letting his daughter go out alone for an afternoon with a man they’ve only known for two days made the old father somewhat uneasy.

But before he could say a word, he met Riven’s ”kind” look.

That look clearly said: ”Dad, you’d better not speak.”

Mike instantly swallowed his words. He watched his daughter’s clear defiance, feeling both annoyed and amused, ultimately having no choice but to relent.

He cleared his throat, pretending he never intended to go along but instead took the lead in distributing tasks: ”Ahem, alright then... I’ll leave the supply task to you two.”

”This old guy here will handle a comprehensive pre-departure check on the Polaris, including the engine, rigging, and all safety equipment, ensuring we can execute the long voyage perfectly.”

”No problem!” Riven beamed as she saw her father being so understanding.

Captain Mike looked at his daughter’s barely concealed happiness and could only sigh inwardly, feeling a bit anxious for what he considered his yet-to-bloom little cabbage.

He waved his hand, using a tone that was both permitting and warning: ”Go, there’s a lot of stuff, don’t play too late, and come back early to prepare for departure.”

”Aye aye, Captain!” Riven cheekily gave a sailor’s salute, then turned around, smugly tilted her chin at Lin Yu’an, and pulled him off the ship.

”Follow me, Captain Sir. Let me show you my land cruiser. But today, it might have to suffer a bit and be used for hauling goods.”

[Holy cow! A duo adventure is about to happen!]

[A date! This is totally a date! The shopping is just an excuse!]

[Old man Mike: I’ve sacrificed too much for this family.]

When Lin Yu’an temporarily went offline during shopping, the live broadcast screen was filled with question marks.

The two walked out of the dock and arrived at the academy’s parking lot. Riven pressed a button on her car key, and the daytime running lights of a not-too-distant car flashed twice.

It wasn’t the sports car Lin Yu’an had imagined but rather a sea-blue Ford F-150 Raptor pickup.

The gigantic body, exaggerated off-road tires, exuded a sense of American muscle and practicality.

This car resembled a beast ready to dash onto the beach and conquer the wilderness at any moment, perfectly matching Riven’s wild and free spirit.

[The American big V8, the sound is superb!]

[Though superb, it guzzles gas!]

[Guzzling gas is no big deal, the gas costs 9.8 bucks!]

[Wait, are you guys just continuing this train of thought? Suggest considering BYD’s new-energy vehicles!]

”Hop in.” Riven gracefully opened the car door and jumped easily into the tall driver’s seat like mounting a truck.

Lin Yu’an settled into the spacious passenger seat and was immediately surrounded by a mixture of sunscreen and perfume, the unique scent belonging to Riven.

Seeing the hint of surprise in Lin Yu’an’s eyes, she chuckled and explained, ”What, you thought I’d drive a sissy sports car?”

Riven expertly started the car, and the V8 engine growled like a beast.

”In Florida, a truck that can tow a boat, hold fishing gear and surfboards, and run around is far more popular than an iron box that’s only good for showing off on Las Olas Boulevard.”

She didn’t rush to drive off but took out another pair of backup Ray-Ban sunglasses from the storage compartment next to her and handed them to Lin Yu’an.

”Put these on,” she said, ”or the Florida sun will blind your eyes, and... it looks cooler.”

Lin Yu’an obediently put them on. The two young, confident faces reflected in the rearview mirror seemed surprisingly... compatible.

With powerful rock music playing, Riven stepped on the gas, and the massive blue Raptor shot off like an arrow, merging into the traffic flow along Binhai Avenue.

”Alright, Captain Sir,” Riven asked while driving, ”what’s our procurement plan? Your list looks like... it could fill up the bed of my truck.”

Lin Yu’an glanced at the navigation and a slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, ”First stop, Las Olas Boulevard, to fulfill a promise.”

”A promise?” Riven was a bit curious.
