Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

Before Eileen Scott could even look at the comments on the screen, she turned to the waiter in the coffee shop and said, ”I still have to film the show. I’ll have that Blue Mountain coffee after we’re done recording.”

The comments section instantly blew up!

”Holy shit! Don’t tell me Evan Fairchild and Eileen Scott are involved!”

”No way! Evan Fairchild’s taste can’t have dropped that low! Who was he linked to in the past? Helen Hogben! Who the hell is Eileen Scott?!”

”Is it really Evan Fairchild? Don’t spread baseless rumors! Evan Fairchild is my dream guy!”

News of Evan Fairchild’s appearance on camera spread like wildfire. In an instant, the viewer count for Eileen Scott’s team shot up by tens of thousands, even surpassing Melody Monroe’s team, which had been the most popular.

Evan Fairchild was sitting at a window seat. A waiter had already pulled down the blinds, shielding him from outside eyes.

The phone on the table began to ring.

Evan Fairchild was in a terrible mood. The moment he answered, Keith Coleman’s voice exploded from the other end. ”Boss! What the hell are you doing? Are you in a coffee shop?”

”Yeah.” Evan Fairchild nodded.

”It’s not the god-tier opponent you should fear, but the pig-headed teammate!” Keith Coleman was furious. He grumbled, not caring if Evan Fairchild was going to murder him for the comment.

Evan Fairchild knew the consequences of what had just happened. For the first time, he was called out for being a ”pig-headed teammate” and didn’t lose his temper.

”Boss! Why on earth would you go to a coffee shop? If you want to see your girl, go to the noodle shop! Should I have PR put out a statement? Say you’re not even in Somberfell City?”

”No need,” Evan Fairchild refused flatly.

”Then what’s the plan? Don’t you know rumors about you and Eileen Scott are already flying around? Are you sure Melody won’t get jealous when she sees them?”

”She’d be jealous?”

”A woman in love is the most sensitive creature on earth—their tolerance is smaller than the eye of a needle! It doesn’t matter how you ran into Eileen Scott; the fact is, you were both in the same coffee shop! It’d be a miracle if she *wasn’t* jealous. She’ll flip out!”

”All my ex-girlfriends... if my phone so much as rang and it was a woman on the other end, they’d throw a fit that lasted for hours!”

Listening to Keith Coleman, Evan Fairchild couldn’t help but feel a flicker of doubt.

’Really?’

’What would it be like if Melody threw a fit over him?’

’To his surprise, a part of him was faintly looking forward to it.’

And just like that, his mood suddenly improved.

”President Fairchild, you’d better think long and hard about how you’re going to explain this to Melody. Want me to give you some pointers? I’m an expert in this department.”

”Don’t need it!”

Keith Coleman: ...

”So, what’s the move now? Are we just going to ignore all the buzz online?”

”Ignore it.”

”Fine. But get ready to start trending!”

”Spend some money to manage the trending topics. I want the news to be that I’m in Somberfell City, but make sure my name isn’t connected to that woman in any way.”

”Got it. As if we’d let some trashy clout-chaser ride President Fairchild’s coattails!”

...

Meanwhile, Melody Monroe’s team was still at the noodle shop, working on their task.

The other members had given up trying; the task was simply impossible. After shaping the dough into various forms and taking a few photos, they found a place to sit and wait for their team leader to finish.

Nana Owen picked up her phone and, out of habit, opened the webpage showing the teams’ real-time rankings.

When she saw the latest news, she immediately nudged Cynthia Jacobs, who was sitting beside her.

”Hey, look! Eileen Scott’s team somehow has more viewers than us now!”

”No way! You must be seeing things!”

”It’s true!”

Cynthia Jacobs and Yvonne Lewis quickly pulled out their phones. The moment they loaded the page, they saw she was right.

However, the viewer count for Eileen Scott’s team was already dropping and was now almost level with theirs again.

”There has to be a reason for a spike like that. Quick, find out what happened!”
