Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year

With Rhona Hughes’s acting skills, she still expected to make money? It would be a miracle if she wasn’t torn to shreds online.

’She’d only gotten a little backlash, it wasn’t like she couldn’t make a comeback!’

’Lana Sheffield was just using her. During this time, she’d lost count of how many networking events she’d attended. Even when humiliated, she could only suffer in silence.’

’However, thanks to these events, she had also met many people in the business world and was secretly building her own network. The harshness of reality had taught her that she could only rely on herself!’

’So, everything she was enduring now was just laying the groundwork for the future! Only by thinking this way could she feel a little better.’

Raymond Ford arrived at the dressing room just as Rhona Hughes was finishing removing her makeup.

”Raymond, what are you doing here?”

”I’m running an errand for Mrs. Sterling. I was just passing by, so I thought I’d come see you.”

”That’s great! I wrapped up early today. Let me treat you to dinner.”

”Okay,” Raymond Ford agreed with a nod.

Watching their friendly interaction, Wendy had a bad feeling. ’However innocent and pure Raymond Ford acts on the surface, his intentions are just as malicious!’

’He’s using Rhona Hughes, but she just can’t see it.’

’And now, with her brother getting involved, she was even more worried.’

”Wendy, go ahead and book a table. The same buffet we went to last time,” Rhona Hughes instructed Wendy.

”Okay.” Wendy nodded, silently picking up their things and following behind the two.

”Raymond Ford, have you had much contact with Eileen Scott?”

”Not much.”

”I saw the news online. She got completely flamed by netizens for confronting Melody Monroe! Mrs. Sterling definitely doesn’t want to see her like this.”

”Melody Monroe has such powerful backing. Even if you’re telling the truth, it’s pointless.”

Rhona Hughes nodded immediately.

”Right now, you don’t have a direct conflict of interest with Melody Monroe, so it’s not so bad. But the moment one arises, she won’t pull any punches. I’m a perfect example. You need to be careful,” Raymond Ford said with a worried look.

”Raymond, thank you for the warning. I’ll be careful. By the way, how have things been for you lately? Have you landed any new roles?”

Raymond Ford shook his head. ”Not yet. What happened before had too big of an impact on me.”

”Sigh!” Rhona Hughes let out a breath. ’She was so afraid Melody Monroe would ruin her just like she’d ruined Raymond!’

”Rhona, have you looked into this year’s Golden Orchid Award nominations?”

Wendy, who had been following silently behind them, immediately looked up at the two people ahead.

’Why would Raymond Ford suddenly bring this up? Is he trying to set a trap for Rhona?’

”The Golden Orchid Award nominations? What’s the use in me looking into that? I definitely wouldn’t get one!”

”You and Melody Monroe both debuted this year, so there’s the newcomer nomination! You don’t think you have a shot at the Best Newcomer Award?” Raymond Ford retorted.

Hearing this, Rhona Hughes’s eyes lit up. ’How could she have forgotten something so important?’

”Now I remember, I think you won the Best Newcomer Award last year!”

Raymond Ford nodded.

”But this is my first project. Am I good enough?”

”Why not? Think about it. You’re playing the female lead in a huge production. I won the Best Newcomer Award, and I was just playing a supporting role.”

Hearing that, Rhona Hughes’s confidence surged.

Wendy grew worried. ’The reason Raymond Ford won last year was because he was in a hit drama! He was playing a supporting role to Aya Winters, and on top of that, the character was very likable!’

’All of Raymond Ford’s popularity came from that show.’

”But...” Raymond Ford trailed off, looking hesitant.

”But what?” Rhona Hughes pressed immediately.

”Last year, I didn’t have any strong competitors. This year, you do.”
